Ashley Graham’s Perfect Going-Out Look is Only $76

We know Ashley Graham can slay the runway, the pages of a magazine, and pretty much any direction she decides to smize in. This is also true for red carpets: Whether she’s wearing a Marina Rinaldi naked dress to accept her Model of the Year award at Harper’s Bazaar UK’s Women of the Year event or a chic red and white H&M gown to the Met Gala, every single look elicits ‘ooh’s’ and ‘aah’s’. And though we don’t want to pick favorites, we must say that we have to appreciate when she crushes it in a get-up that doesn’t break the bank. So, when she wore a white-hot two-piece with a $76 price tag to an event in New York last night, you bet we were excited.

Graham attended the launch event for Forevermark’s Tribute Collection in New York. She may have been celebrating diamonds, but the crop top and midi skirt combo she opted to wear for the occasion rings in just under $100. She paired Meshki’s Mila Long Sleeve Crop Top ($38) with the Ailana Jersey Midi Skirt (also $38.) Please appreciate how good Graham looked wearing pieces we can actually afford.

We love when celebrities opt for fashionable items that are comfortably within budget. (Just a few days ago Selena Gomez wore a $205 Madewell outfit on a date with Justin Bieber.) Kendall Jenner and her $10K Saint Laurent glitter boots are great and all, but we can’t exactly add those to our virtual carts. Plus, what’s better than an affordable outfit that looks far more luxe than it is? Way to go, Graham.

The 'Naked Dress' Trend Is Alive and Well, Thanks to Ashley Graham

It’s almost harder to think of a celebrity who hasn’t worn the once-scandalous “naked dress” than to list off those who have. Ever since Rihanna brought it back in a big way (with a little help from Adam Selman) at the 2014 CFDA Awards, the glam, sheer, and otherwise light-on-opacity trend has become a staple on the red carpet—or, if you’re Bella Hadid, in daywear, if you’re just hanging out by a casual helicopter. Selena Gomez, Kendall Jenner, Kim Kardashian, and a whole host of other A-listers are big on this style. And if you thought the “naked dress” was on the way out, you were sorely mistaken, because Ashley Graham just wore a stunning black version that’s making us excited about this trend all over again.

The model opted for a Spring 2018 Marina Rinaldi gown to accept a Model of the Year award at Harper’s Bazaar UK’s Women of the Year event on Thursday night. The beyond-elegant style was midi-length, with sleeves to the elbows and a crew neck—and also completely sheer, embellished only with gorgeous, 1920s-esque beading in black and silver bars across the chest, hips, and calves.

Here’s the gorgeous gown in full:

A very literal interpretation of the “naked dress” trend, the Marina Rinaldi gown exposed Graham’s black bra and matching low-rise bikini panty. The model kept her hair and makeup simple and sleek—winged eyeliner and a voluminous half-up—though she let some diamond drop earrings add a little drama to the whole ensemble. Stunning, no?

Graham’s take on the “naked dress” is making us excited for holiday party season—or any occasion that calls for dressing up, really. If you’re in the market for some glam dresses, check out 24 on-sale options to buy right now.

Ashley Judd Just Shared Her Go-To Way to Respond to Sexual Harassment

Ashley Judd—like many women—is no stranger to instances of sexual harassment. The actress was one of those on record in the bombshell New York Times investigation that revealed decades of alleged sexual harassment and assault by former Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein. This week, she opened up on Good Morning America about the encounter she had with him early in her career, saying that “there has to be a real profound understanding on the part of the sexual predator that what he was doing was wrong and criminal.” She also accepted the “Speaking Truth to Power” award at the Women’s Media Awards on Thursday.

Now, in a Teen Vogue interview published Saturday, Judd shared how she responds to sexual harassment—particularly the sort encountered on the street. Yelling, “Stop! That is inappropriate and unwelcome,” Judd “holds her hands up like catcher’s mitts, telling her potential harasser to stop what they’re doing and, at the same time, making her hands like a shield between her and the hurtful comments.”

Judd adds that expecting to be harassed isn’t something we should have to do, but “disrupting the structures” that allow it to occur is really important. So practicing what to do when it happens—getting comfortable with making the gestures and speaking loudly, in her case—is important for her to be able to respond in a way that she’s comfortable with and feels empowering.

For those who don’t feel like they can respond, Judd says, just being able to extricate themselves from the situation—in whatever way is safe—is important.

“Feeling safe is everything,” she told Teen Vogue. “That’s essentially what is taken from us when we experience sexual harassment and microaggressions.”

She added that two things that can’t be taken away are your power and instinct. “You are ineffably powerful,” she told Teen Vogue. “If it feels wrong, it is wrong.” And it’s more than OK to make that known.

'Fuller House': It's Still a No From Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen

PHOTO: Getty Images/Jamie McCarthy

After three years of being asked to guest star on Fuller House, the sequel to the show that launched their acting careers, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen are still saying “no thanks” to series creator Jeff Franklin’s requests for them to make a brief appearance on the revived sitcom.

Michelle Tanner’s absence has been alluded to many times in the first two seasons—and now Franklin is confirming that the youngest Tanner daughter will not return for season three either. “Personally, I’ve given up asking them,” he told TVLine. “The door is open, but I’m not going to be calling them anymore to invite them. They just don’t seem interested in coming. It’s been three years of invitations, so they know the door is open. It’s up to them to decide if they want to come play or not.”

To be fair, the World’s Most Famous Twins have said repeatedly that they’re done with acting. Ashley has not appeared onscreen since 2004’s New York Minute. And the last film Mary Kate did was 2011’s Beastly. In a 2013 interview with WWD, Mary Kate went so far as to say, “I don’t think it ever felt like we were actresses,” chalking up the roles that they took when they were younger as being part of “building a brand.”

And as we all know, they’ve since pivoted said brand to delve into the fashion industry, launching two wildly successful lines: The Row and Elizabeth and James. The Row, founded in 2006, has been especially successful, winning three CFDA awards: Accessories Designer of the Year in 2014 and Womenswear Designer of the Year in 2012 and 2015. Given their many triumphs as designers, it’s no wonder they don’t want to revisit the past. Also, they’re clearly busy: award-winning clothes don’t design themselves.

The third season of Fuller House debuted on September 22—a date that also happens to be the 30th anniversary of the premiere of Full House. Watch the trailer below or stream the whole season now on Netflix.

Ashley Graham Calls Out Rihanna's Fenty Runway Show For Not Using Curvy Models

PHOTO: Angela Weiss/AFP/Getty Images

Ashley Graham has long been the face of size inclusivity on the runway, constantly pushing designers to do better and cast more plus-size (or curvy, as Graham prefers to be called) models in their shows. And though the fall 2017 shows saw a record 27 plus-size model appearances in New York alone—up from 16 the previous season and a mere six the one before—Ashley says there’s still lots of progress to be made.

In an interview with Yahoo! Beauty, Graham, who has her own lingerie brand, the Ashley Graham Collection, does not think that this year’s collections will be as progressive as last season’s. “It’s sad,” she says. “It’s funny to me, because I’ll look at runways and think, ‘I’d look so great in those clothes’ or ‘I know curvy women who would look so great in those clothes.’”

And she even called out a few names in particular. “I was at Fenty, and that was an amazing show. But how dope would it have been to see some curves on the runway? I think Baja East would be really cool to have curves on the runway. Philipp Plein would be really cool.” Though Rihanna has proved that she’s devoted to providing every woman with an option in the beauty industry—stores cannot keep the deepest shades of Fenty Beauty in stock just days after it dropped—Ashley does have a point that true diversity is not just limited to skin tone.

But it’s not all bad. There were the Christian Siriano and Prabal Gurung runway shows, both of which Graham and other plus-size or curvy models walked in, plus the Chromat show, which was one of the most diverse, with plus-size, transgender, and older models. Nevertheless, designers should all strive to include as many different skin tones, body types, hair textures, etc., as possible.
