Jennifer Lopez Just Got the Perfect Asymmetrical Lob for Winter

There are very few things Jennifer Lopez does that I don’t want to emulate. From her fitness routine to her fashion (if I could pull it off) and pretty much everything in between. But, her glam—well, that’s number one. Seriously, who doesn’t want to glow like J. Lo at the age of 50?

Now, we’re guessing that a lot of women will be taking a photo of her newest haircut to the salon to give their own stylists inspiration. Hairstylist Chris Appleton (who recently gave Kim Kardashian an impromptu cut in a parking lot) shared his latest work on Lopez via his Instagram: a shorter, asymmetrical bob complete with a dramatic side part. “Jlo – don’t be so intense – me ?#newcut,” he wrote in the caption.

How amazing does this look?

Lopez also shared a photo of her new look, with makeup artist Scott Barnes in the shot as well. “These guys…doing what they do… #fambam,” she wrote.

I also love that Lopez is going against the traditional grain and appears to have added highlights for winter instead of going darker, like so many of us do. The blonde pieces frame her face beautifully with this new style. We’ll hopefully get to see a lot of Lopez and all of her various looks over the next few months.

The singer/actress/producer is gearing up for a busy award show season with lots of buzz around her incredible performance in Hustlers. Then in February we’ll finally get to see what a J. Lo Super Bowl performance looks like when she and Shakira headline the big event. (Oh and NBD, she’s just filming a movie in the middle of it all too.)

“Ever since I saw Diana Ross fly off into the sky at the halftime show, I dreamed of performing at the Super Bowl,” Lopez said after the announcement was made. “And now it’s made even more special not only because it’s the NFL’s 100th anniversary, but also because I am performing with a fellow Latina. I can’t wait to show what us girls can do on the world’s biggest stage.”

The hair, makeup, and fashion is surely going to be so good.

How to Wear Teddy Pieces This Fall and Winter

You probably saw that one picture from Max Mara’s fall 2019 show, of three models walking side by side down the runway wearing bold monochromatic looks, each centered around a teddy coat, that was shared widely on social media. (#CozySquadGoals.) It wasn’t just a striking image—it was confirmation that our collective love of teddy, which had already been going strong since 2018, would continue well into 2019.

Victor VIRGILE

It wasn’t just Max Mara: Michael Kors, Coach, Sandy Liang, Veronica Beard, and other designers incorporated the cozy fabric into their fall collections. Meanwhile, the fashion crowd was being photographed wearing teddy jackets in every color, print, length, and shape; some even raised the stakes with teddy accessories, from bucket bags to bucket hats.

18 Winter Wedding Guest Dresses for Every Occasion, Budget, and Style

Unlike summer weddings which call for airy, almost sheer fabrics, finding the best winter wedding guest dresses calls for a little more drama. Long sleeves, dark colors, and velvet are usually what come to mind as proper attire, but this season’s options are also full of rich jewel tones, snakeskin prints, playful hemlines, and gravity-defying puffy-sleeves.

But before committing to a dress, think about the time and location. Are you jetting off to a sunny spot for a day-time destination wedding? Or are you attending a rustic afternoon reception in a barn? Next up is the couple. Are these your rowdy best friends who are bound to throw a killer afterparty? Or are they old work acquaintances with a strict black tie dress code? Then, of course, you have to think about your own personal style, budget, and whether or not you plan on re-wearing the dress (trust us—it’s not a faux-pas when even Kate Middleton does it).

No matter where you’re headed to see your loved ones say “I do,” consider your dress options sorted. Whether it’s a sequin midi from Rixo, a black tie gown from Marchesa Notte, or disco-ready dress from Rebecca Minkoff, we found options for every occasion, budget, and destination. Ahead, 18 winter wedding guest dresses you’ll want to wear everywhere.

Ariel Winter Is Sick of Comparing Herself to Other Women

Right now it’s Lizzo. She’s killing it. She just puts me in a good mood. I put her songs on repeat. Also Billie Eilish. And my queen is Cardi B. She’ll always be my queen. Always, always, always.

How much time do you spend getting ready?

If it’s just in my regular daily life, probably like 30 minutes. If I’m going to an event, it can take an hour, an hour and a half, two hours, depending on how much we’re chatting and whatever we’re doing. The most time it would take is two hours.

What hair products do you swear by?

Definitely argan oil or coconut oil. I used to bleach my hair all the time and do weird colors. I was trying things. My hair was unhealthy because of it, so I had to cut it pretty short, and I was not happy about that. I was like, Oh my god, it’s not going to grow back, I want my long hair again. But I was like, OK, I need to take a break from dying it and let it get healthy. So I started getting into oils. If I add oils to my hair and moisturize, it makes it a lot easier to dye and go back to those colors. I don’t have to cut it so short and be so sad because my inches of hair are on the ground.

I can sense the passion behind this.

It’s so devastating! I saw my hair on the floor and was like…my hair!

Screw, marry or kill: mascara, lipstick, highlighter?

Marry mascara, kill highlighter, and screw lipstick.

You have $20 and free roam of a drugstore or Ulta, what do you buy?

If it’s a drugstore, candy for sure. Candy, candy, candy. At Ulta, I’d probably want a few different tinted lip balms. I could probably get a couple of those for $20.

What’s the last Instagram rabbit hole you went down?

I’m always going down dog Instagram holes. I will look on somebody’s page and go, Oh, that person! And then I’ll see someone’s friend, and click on their friend, and if they have a dog in a photo, I’ll click on that friend. That’s probably the most specific hole I go down, unless I’m looking for a specific meme. My friend always sends me the best memes. I’ll even look at memes from five years ago.

What’s your favorite emoji?

I just got into the gifs in text messages. I like the Twerkin’ Tina from Bob’s Burgers. She’s so awkward. I love it.

What’s your favorite way to take a moment for yourself?
