This *Game of Thrones* Theory Suggests How Tyrion Lannister Might Die


This post contains spoilers for Game of Thrones. Consider yourself warned.

Ever since his first appearance in Game of Thrones season one, Tyrion Lannister (played by Peter Dinklage) has been a fan favorite. The drunken womanizer-turned-trusted political advisor often provides brief bits of humor and levity to a show that’s mostly “dark and full of terrors,” but he’s also a driving force in the plot. Tyrion is positioned to play a major role as we move forward from the battle with the Night King and his Army of the Dead to King’s Landing and a showdown with Tyrion’s sister, Cersei Lannister.

Now. a new theory, (via The Independent), suggests how Tyrion might die (NOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!).

Here’s what the theory posits: Think back to season four when Tyrion kills his own father, Tywin Lannister, with a crossbow—while Tywin is on the toilet, no less. It’s a pivotal moment for the character and may come back into play in the final three seasons. Stay with us here: The Independent points out that many characters on GoT die by same method they employed to end the lives of others. Olenna Tyrell poisoned Joffrey and was subsequently poisoned by Jaime Lannister. Ned Stark beheaded a member of the Night’s Watch and then publicly lost his own head. Ramsey Bolton used his hounds to kill his mother and sister, then Sansa turned them back on him in the end. The list goes on.

So it’s notable that in a previous episode, we see Qyburn give Bronn the same crossbow Tyrion used on his father. We know that Cersei wants Bronn to eliminate her brothers, Jaime and Tyrion, now that they have turned against her. Could this be a signal that Bronn will kill Tyrion with that crossbow?

As much as we don’t want it to be true, it does make a lot of sense. Then again, maybe Sansa will use that dagger she now has in her possession to protect him. A girl can hope, right?

This 'Game of Thrones' Theory Suggests Sansa Stark Will Be the One to Kill Cersei Lannister


Warning: Some spoilers for this season of Game of Thrones ahead.

Sansa Stark has been rising in the Game of Thrones power rankings for weeks—seasons, really. Once a privileged young girl of Winterfell who didn’t care to focus on much outside of herself, Sansa has become a true force in the Seven Kingdoms. She’s my personal choice to sit on the Iron Throne when this saga wraps up in three weeks.

And now, a new theory (from Hollywood Life) suggests that Sansa will actually be the one to kill Cersei Lannister as focus returns to King’s Landing after the defeat of the Night King.

The most popular guesses as to who might take down the queen are her brothers, Jaime and Tyrion, or Arya. This is thanks to the prophecy from Maggy the Frog, which Cersei heard as a child. In the books it says, “And when your tears have drowned you, the valonqar shall wrap his hands about your pale white throat and choke the life from you.” Valonqar means “little brother,” which at first glance would mean Tyrion. But it could apply to Jamie, too, considering he’s the younger twin. Notably, thought, that specific part was left out in the show. And then, of course, Cersei sits high on Arya’s kill list.

But it would be super cool if it was Sansa, especially since Arya just had a big moment in killing the Night King.

Don’t forget that Maggy’s prophesy also includes this bit: “Queen you shall be…until there comes another, younger and more beautiful, to cast you down and take all that you hold dear.” Sounds like Sansa, no?

So, how might this all go down? The dagger that Arya gave to her older sister during the Battle of Winterfell plays a big part. “Stick ’em with the pointy end,” Arya says, in a callback to the same advice Jon Snow gave to her in season one. While Sansa has never trained to be a physical fighter like Arya, she has learned a lot about politics and manipulation by Littlefinger and Cersei herself. The theory points out that, in season seven, Sansa admitted to “learning a lot” from Cersei.

“What if it’s actually the person she least suspects? It would be satisfying as hell to watch Sansa kill Cersei with Arya’s dagger,” Avery Thompson writes for Hollywood Life. “Sansa learned so much from the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms. Cersei helped shape Sansa into the woman she is today. But just like Arya, Sansa harbors a hatred for Cersei. Cersei had a hand in having Sansa’s father, Ned, killed, which Sansa had to watch from just inches away. She helped keep Sansa in King’s Landing and away from her family for years.”

The motive is definitely there—and thanks to the dagger from Arya, Sansa now has the means. But will she take her shot when the opportunity arises? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

Royal Fans Have a New Theory About the Sex of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Baby


As far as we know, Meghan Markle isn’t even in labor yet—but that hasn’t stopped royal watchers from speculating about all things royal baby. Honestly, it’s getting fairly insane and bordering on some Game of Thrones-level theorizing. The Internet is basically just pinging between topics like “Is Arya Stark Actually the Prince That Was Promised?” and “Does This Link Prove Baby Sussex Is a Boy?” It’s wild out there.

On Friday, April 26, everyone lost their collective minds when an ambulance was spotted somewhere in the vicinity of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s home, Frogmore Cottage. Never mind that many pregnant women don’t require an ambulance to get to the hospital while in labor or that, you know, other people live in the town of Windsor and might have use of an ambulance.

Now, a glitch in the royal family’s official website is fueling speculation about the baby’s sex. Here’s the deal: People noticed that when you type “/prince-arthur”, “/prince-alexander,” or “/prince-james” after the page’s main homepage address, you are taken to the website’s main page. If you do the same with names like “/princess-grace,” you get a “page not found” message. This suggests that website redirects have been set up for Arthur, Alexander, and James, causing some fans to assume that the baby is a boy and will have one of those names.

Not so fast, says Buckingham Palace. “A large number of search term redirects were set up some time ago on royal.uk,” a palace spokesperson told Yahoo! U.K. “This was in order to improve user experience. For guidance you will note that other names preceded by ‘prince’ or ‘princess’ produce the same result.”

A similar theory circulated last year, prior to the birth of Kate Middleton and Prince William’s third child, Prince Louis, when fans were convinced that his name would be Albert because an “access denied” message appeared when you searched that name. Obviously, that was also false. Furthermore, there’s a very good chance that Baby Sussex will not have a prince or princess title at all.

So maybe we should all just settle down and wait for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s little royal to arrive.

This 'Game of Thrones' Fan Theory About Winterfell's Crypts Is Actually…Optimistic?


The Game of Thrones theories continue to pile up as viewers prepare for the looming battle in Winterfell. A lot of people are already speculating that things aren’t going to go very well for Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, and the rest of the guys getting ready to fight the Night King and the Army of the Dead. Some have even started worrying about what might happen down in the crypts, particularly after HBO released a couple of episode three photos that show Sansa Stark looking worried down there. However, there’s a new theory that the crypts might actually not be so scary after all—in fact, they could offer a huge advantage.

If you remember, the plan was to keep some of the more vulnerable characters down in the crypts while the battle unfolded, where the dead Stark kings also happen to be. One theory posited that maybe the Night King was going to bring the ancestors back to life and use them against those in the crypts. But according to some fans, the dead Starks—who have some idea of their history—could come to life and help their living relatives, not fight them.

The theory seems supported by the books: Jon Snow even has a dream at one point about old Stark kings coming to life down there. In the dream, as series author George R. R. Martin writes, Snow had “heard the scrape of stone on stone. When he turned he saw the vaults were opening, one after the other. As the dead kings came stumbling from their cold black graves, Jon had woken in pitch-dark, his heart hammering.”

Another supporting point to this theory? Steven Attewell, a Song of Ice and Fire blogger (and professor at CUNY), also pointed out on Tumblr that the Starks were buried with iron swords, which could mean they’re already set and ready to defend their heirs.

What will actually happen, of course, is TBD—we’ll just have to wait until tomorrow to find out exactly what goes down in the crypts.

Taylor Swift Just Confirmed One Big Theory From Her 'ME!' Video


Good morning! Have you heard that Taylor Swift dropped a new single called “ME!” along with a super colorful music video at midnight? Or are you just logging on for the first time today? Well, she did—and the new track is an upbeat, peppy collaboration with Brendon Urie of Panic! At the Disco.

Of course, the Swifties immediately dove into the details of the lyrics and the video to search for the hidden Easter eggs and nods the singer is famous for. Lucky for them, there are so many to obsess over. For example, fans think she might have hinted at an engagement to her boyfriend, Joe Alwyn, as well as a return to her country roots.

But it seems she’s already confirmed at least one theory—and, true to Swift’s brand, it involves cats.

Let’s back up: Swift’s famous cats, Meredith Grey and Olivia Benson, make an adorable appearance in the video:

But later in the video, Urie hands a kitten to Swift. The new cat’s appearance had fans wondering if Swift had added a new member to her family, considering she also mentioned in a YouTube Q&A before the video’s release that there was a secret in it that she’s been hiding for months.

This morning, April 26, the singer revealed that another cat has joined Meredith and Olivia. “And then there were three…,” she wrote on Instagram.

No word yet on the new pet’s name—but given Swift’s history, it should give us some insight into what television show she’s into at the moment. Maybe Cristina Yang can join her Grey’s Anatomy bestie Meredith? Swift did hang out with Sandra Oh this week, after all.

The Big Bang Theory Season 12, Episode 20 Recap: Leonard's New Future Surprises Penny


Sheldon and Amy have taken center stage on The Big Bang Theory the last few weeks, but with less than five episodes left it was time to press pause on Nobel Watch 2019 to focus on the other main characters, specifically Leonard and Penny.

In “The Decision Reverberation,” Leonard admits to Penny that he’s not happy at work and wants a change. Before we get to that, though, we finally see Anu again (for one scene at least) and all seems well with her and Raj. They’re flirty and cute, and I’m bummed we haven’t gotten more scenes with them. Howard and Bernadette are basically supporting players to Raj this week, who is worried that people won’t take him or his work seriously. He hypothesized that there are many unknowns in the universe, which could mean aliens exist, causing everyone to have an opinion. Sure.

But let’s get back to the episode’s big story: Penny, Leonard, and their future.

Sheldon diagnoses Leonard as a “textbook satisficer,” someone who always put others’ interests above their own. Penny tells Leonard he shouldn’t do things to please others if it constantly makes him feel bad. She wonders when he last did something totally selfish without worrying what anyone else wanted. “Probably when I was born,” Leonard says.

As you might have guessed, the rest of the episode centers around Leonard trying to break free from his people-pleasing ways and take control of his life. Thanks to Penny’s suggestion to be more assertive with his wants and needs, Leonard tells her he wants to have sex and then watch Star Trek: Discovery. That’s followed by the groundbreaking decision to order barbecue on what is typically Chinese food night. And then, a new route on the drive to work the next day.

Best of all is Leonard’s decision to sit in Sheldon’s spot on the couch. “It’s my house, and I’m tried of being told where I can and can’t sit,” he says. When Sheldon storms off in a huff, Leonard tells Penny that standing his ground over Sheldon’s spot was better than sex. “Don’t take this the wrong way,” Penny says, “but yes it was.” New Leonard has arrived, and I’m so here for it.

The next day Leonard tells Sheldon that all these years he’s been afraid to say what he wanted for fear of ruffling feathers or stepping on toes. Now that he’s feeling more confident, he’s ready to make a change at work as well: He wants to be the principal investigator on a plasma physics study. And if work won’t let him? “Well, there are plenty of other universities that will,” Leonard tells Sheldon.

Except Sheldon doesn’t think it’s a good idea. Leonard thinks that’s because Sheldon doesn’t want to see him be successful, but Sheldon later tells Amy he’s confused if he feels that way because of a noble reason or a selfish reason. “Leonard’s about to demand a job that I don’t think the university will give him,” he explains to Amy. “I’m worried he’s making a giant mistake. Maybe deep down I don’t want him to succeed.”

Amy says the fact that he’s worried about his motivation supports the idea that he genuinely cares about Leonard. “I do,” Sheldon says. “Thank you, Amy.”

Later, Leonard tells Penny he spent the entire day putting together his proposal so he can tell President Siebert this is what he wants to do. Sheldon comes by and tells him he’s been agonizing about saying something. “I don’t think you should demand to be in charge of a plasma project,” he says. Leonard reiterates it’s because Sheldon doesn’t want him to succeed, but Sheldon says that’s not it. Penny interrupts and says Sheldon shouldn’t worry about what happens because worst comes to worst, the university will just say no.
