Blake Lively Just Wore a Highlighter-Green Versace Menswear Suit, and She Looks Incredible

Blake Lively is no stranger to being extra when it comes to her OOTDs—or her formalwear, either (her Met Gala dress famously took more than 600 hours to make). Case in point: On Friday, she stepped out in New York City wearing not one, but two velvet blazers (and no shirt) in autumnal jewel tones. She has definitely pulled off multiple outfit changes during the day during press tours in the past (gotta look ~ fresh ~), and Friday was no different. Along with the velvet outfit, she also wore the most neon-y green suit we’ve ever seen—and she looks incredible.

Lively’s look was full-on monochrome and coordinated, and we know where she drew her inspiration: from the runway of Versace’s S/S ’19 menswear show, where a model marched down the runway in the exact same pointelle-knit sweater, jacket, and trouser combo. (She seems to have tailored the fit of the trousers a bit—Versace showed them a bit longer and slouchier—but it seems more Lively’s speed this way.)

Who among us couldn’t take a page from Lively’s book here—after all, if you see something you like, who cares whether it’s from the men’s or women’s department? We’re feeling all sorts of inspired now (and, well, it’s almost flannel shirt and cozy sweater season).

Is This Zara Suit the New Zara Off-the-Shoulder Dress?

Every season, there’s that one Zara piece that’s fairly inescapable—no matter where you go, you’ll run into someone wearing it. It might not immediately register as Zara, but as soon as you start tallying up the sightings, you just know. There was that one coat, with its cropped cut and frayed white lining; then, that one blue off-the-shoulder dress that was so popular, it had its own Tumblr.

Behold, Glamour‘s guess at what the next iteration of “That One Zara Item” will be: the pink suit that’s technically called Blazer Without Lapel ($69.90) and Pants With Belt ($49.90).

Zara Blazer Without Lapel, $69.90, Zara; Zara Pants With Belt, $49.90, Zara

Zara Pants With Belt, $49.90, Zara

It has all the elements that make “That One Zara Item” stand out from the plethora of options on the fast-fashion giant’s “New In” section: versatility (the two pieces can be worn together as a suit, or separately with other pieces in your closet), a stand-out detail that makes it feel special (that wide, monochromatic belt with an oversized buckle), and a sweet price point (altogether, it’ll set you back just under $120).

But what really has us convinced is just how many times this pink suit has cropped up on a ton of Zara fan accounts already. Scroll through the feeds hashtags, and you’ll see how Instagrammers have made the style their own, wearing it with white T-shirts…

… or styling it with black tops.

Though, the color of the suit doesn’t necessarily need to be toned down by the styling: Some opt to wear the two-piece with an equally rosy T-shirt or blouse.

Some wear the belted trousers on their own, either with knits…

… or with cool spring blouses

… and even with other, non-pink blazers.

The #OOTDs have it. And once you spot this bright, collarless, wide-belted suit out in the wild (or even on your social feed), there’s no unseeing it—and, odds are, you’ll be much more cognizant of just how often you come across it.

Determine the true value of that product you’re eyeing with Glamour’s new Cost-Per-Wear Calculator:

Melania Trump Wore an All-White Suit for State of the Union

All eyes were on First Lady Melania Trump as she entered the chamber to watch her husband deliver his first State of the Union to a joint session of Congress. In a break from tradition, she arrived separately from President Trump—the Obamas and George W. Bush and his wife Laura both rode together from the White House. Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said that this was for “no reason other than she can greet the guests and he can go straight in.” Still, eyebrows were raised.

And then there’s Melania’s fashion selection: an all-white Christian Dior pantsuit and Dolce & Gabbana blouse. I don’t know about you but when I think all-white pantsuit, or any pantsuit for that matter, my mind immediately travels to one Ms. Hillary Rodham Clinton. Of course, HRC doesn’t have that market cornered and the First Lady is free to wear anything she chooses, but again…eyebrows were raised.

The look also evokes images of the Democratic women who chose to wear white to the president’s joint session last year to symbolize the suffragette movement and women’s rights. It’s also in stark contrast to many Democrats decision to attend in black this year.

Of course, there’s no way to know if Melania Trump is making a statement or if she just really likes that suit. But clothing has become a significant marker of the #MeToo and Time’s Up moment which brings even more scrutiny to every sartorial choice. And Twitter sure had some fun speculating calling her “Resistance curious” and a “suffragette, Hillary Clinton, and Kesha #MeToo backup singer all in one.”

If only she tweeted as much as her husband, we might someday know the real story.

14 Celebrity-Inspired Blazer Dresses That'll Make You Want to Suit Up

The concept of a “going-out outfit” has thankfully evolved beyond the bandage dresses and the towering heels, in favor of a more “do you” approach. Still, a handful of silhouettes will start cropping up once in a while—on a celebrity here, at a “new arrivals” section there—that feel pretty well-suited for this very specific type of dressing. That pun is very much intentional, as we’re here to tell you about the style currently catching our eye: blazer dresses. We’ve seen many memorable renditions of it on the red carpet (Rihanna at the 2014 British Fashion Awards, Kerry Washington at the SNL 40 party, Bella Hadid at the 2017 CFDA Awards, Reese Witherspoon at the most recent Emmys)—enough that has us convinced of this particular going-out trend’s staying power. Don’t just take our word for it: Just look at the amount of structured, belted minidresses you can buy right now. Ahead, 14 of our favorites.

Kim Kardashian Isn’t Going to Let a Pesky Shirt Distract From Her Gucci Suit

This summer, Kim Kardashian had a thing for not only embracing the naked dress trend that’s hot in Hollywood right now, but for wearing completely see-through clothes. (We get it! It’s hot out!) Her most notable looks included tights as pants and that plastic dress she casually wore to pick up sushi. Now, instead of wearing cheeky sheer fabric, the selfie queen has apparently given up things like on shirts altogether. Less is more, after all!

The mom of three showed up to LACMA Art + Film gala event in L.A. on Saturday night with her mom, Kris Jenner, in an ultra-chic Tom Ford for Gucci suit. Instead of wearing a shirt or bra underneath her oversized blazer, Kim opted for absolutely nothing underneath and kept her blazer unbuttoned, leaving some logistics best left to physicists and double-sided tape.

She topped the look off with simple makeup and waves in her long platinum hair. See the outfit for yourself below:

It’s not the first time she’s done this, either: just three weeks ago, Kardashian wore another black blazer with nothing underneath—though she kept it buttoned. In fact, she and her sisters, Khloé and Kourtney, all wore similar blazers, but they each styled differently.

Whether this is the last time Kim goes topless under blazers, we do not know. But when she gets obsessed with a trend, she runs with it—so stay tuned.

Gigi Hadid Wore an Astronaut Suit on a Wednesday, Because Why Not?

When we’re getting dressed for a casual midweek meet-up with friends, we’ll reach for an oversize sweater or some variation of denim. Well, Gigi Hadid one-upped us (and then some) last night in New York, when she stepped out in a blue NASA-branded boilersuit—for no apparent reason other than, why the hell not?

The Daily Mail was obviously the first to report on the model’s unconventional sartorial selection. The publication identified Hadid’s bright one-piece as Alpha Industries Flight Suit. Alas, it’s but a replica of an astronaut space uniform—but hey, it’s still, ahem, quite stellar. (Don’t worry, there are more lame puns coming your way.)

PHOTO: Mega Agency

If you’re still short on a legit Halloween costume, we’re sad to report that this Alpha Industries style, which normally retails at $111, is entirely sold out at the moment. Her trusty Docs, though, are still available for purchase for a cool $75 a pair.

Dr. Martens Page Mix boots, $75, 6PM

Well, any brainstorms for a Gigi Hadid Halloween costume just took an unexpected turn. As to the “why” behind this #OOTD—does it really matter? Hadid’s always been one to be experimental with her sartorial choices. She just happened to take it all the way out of this world for this one. (Hey, we warned you.) Plus, if we learned anything from her Harper’s Bazaar “Space Odyssey” shoot last May, she’s got the zero-gravity look down.
