Kendall Jenner Swears This Face-Washing Trick Makes Her Pores Smaller

Oral beauty” might sound like marketing spin for Tom Haverford’s next H2Flow campaign, but dental hygiene brands are banking on it becoming the Next Big Thing in beauty. Where there was once only one trendy toothpaste brand (h/t to you, Marvis), a whole slew of new oral-care brands are emerging for the Glossier era.

Among them is Moon, a lifestyle “oral beauty” brand founded by Shaun Neff (the same guy behind Neff headwear) and created in partnership with Kendall Jenner. If Kendall Jenner, toothpaste ambassador, seems somewhat out of left field, it’s surprisingly not the first time she’s lent her expertise to the formulation of teeth-whitening products. Back in 2016, Jenner teamed up with Estée Lauder’s Estée Edit on a lip gloss made with blue undertones to make teeth appear whiter.

Moon picks up where Jenner left off with Esteé’s limited-run line. Everything is made, no shocker, for Instagram: the ingredients are vegan and paraben-free, the packaging is sleek and all-black, and its tagline reads #elevateyourroutine. “The oral care aesthetic is usually so bland and ugly in the supermarket aisles,” Neff tells Glamour. “Kendall says it the best, you want to keep this out on your counter and not hide it when your friends come over. That was the original idea with the design.”

We caught up with Jenner to talk more about toothpaste, her oral beauty routine, and to ask her some of our Big Beauty Questions.

Glamour: Why are white teeth important to you?

Kendall Jenner: People can tell a lot about you by your smile, and I think that your smile is really important. For me, specifically, I’ve always taken a lot of pride in oral beauty. You do it every morning and every night. So when Shaun came to me with the idea, it was almost a no-brainer, because it blends the health side of it and it makes it look so good on your shelf.

What does your ‘oral beauty’ routine consist of?

KJ: I brush, floss, and use mouthwash. I try to floss as much as I can, but I think my little floss sticks will help me do it more. And I take my whitening pen with me all over the place. I don’t use it every day, but I work a lot and travel a lot, so I use it when I feel like I need to. It’s usually in my bag.

Speaking of travel, since you’re on the go all the time, what city or country most influences your beauty?

KJ: Today my beauty look is a bit darker—especially with my eyes—but usually it’s light, fresh, and glowy. I take a lot of my inspiration from beaches and places like that. I’ve been to Greece a couple times and love that everyone is glowy and tan, just beautiful. And the south of France, too. I love beach life. Plus, I live in L.A., and we have Malibu.”

What’s one beauty rule you swear by?

KJ: I heard a long time ago that washing your face with cold water at night is really good because it closes your pores, so I try to wash my face with the coldest water possible. Weirdly, the water is always coldest in New York. I assume because it’s colder outside that the water just naturally comes out freezing. I love it. I don’t know about in the summertime, but definitely in the winter. It’s so cold I can barely even put my hands in it.

Kendall Coyne Schofield Made History as the First Woman to Compete in the NHL All-Star Skills Contest

U.S. Olympic gold medalist Kendall Coyne Schofield made sports history on Friday night as the first woman ever to compete in the NHL All-Star Game SuperSkills Competition, an event that shows off the talent of some of the best professional hockey players.

In the past, the annual tradition has been reserved for male players in the league. But when Colorado Avalanche center Nathan MacKinnon had to drop out of the competition because of a foot injury, his team tapped Coyne Schofield to replace him. Coyne Schofield, who is a member of the U.S. women’s national ice hockey team and won a gold medal in 2018, jumped at the chance—and on Friday, she hit the ice, ready to fly.

“It was a no-brainer,” she said. “Obviously, it’s huge honor to be the first woman to take part in the NHL Skills competition. It was surreal.”

Coyne Schofield kicked things off by opening the fast skate event and ended up securing a lightning-quick time of 14.346 seconds. She landed in seventh place ahead of Arizona Coyotes player Clayton Keller, while Edmonton Oilers Connor McDavid won first place and his third title in the event. But to Coyne Schofield, what was important was changing the rules of the hockey competition.

“My first impression was, like, ‘I can do this,’” Coyne Schofield said at a news conference after the event. “My speed is definitely my strength. Obviously, I was a little nervous, but I knew it was a moment that was going to break a lot of barriers, and a moment that would change the perceptions of our game.”

Coyne Schofield wowed a lot of the hockey world, including MacKinnon, the player she replaced.

“It’s amazing, her stride,” he said on NBC Sports Network. “She is so powerful.”

Others sang Coyne Schofield’s praises and noted what a significant moment her skate was for women in hockey.

Kendall Jenner Says Suffering From Acne Was 'Debilitating' For Her

This year, Kendall Jenner seems to be more open to sharing details of her life than ever before—even if said openness is part of a new business partnership. It all started after her mom, Kris Jenner, created quite the internet stir over a teaser about her daughter telling her “most raw story” yet. Earlier this month, during the night of the Golden Globes, Jenner revealed that she’s the new face of Proactiv, a skin care line focused on treating acne.

So…this wasn’t exactly the sort of revelation the world was hoping for from the model, but acne is a part of her life and, based on a new Instagram post, it’s something that she’s struggled with, both publicly and privately, for some time. “While there are much bigger problems happening in the world, suffering from acne for me was debilitating,” Jenner wrote. “It’s something that I’ve dealt with since I was a young teen and has caused me to feel anxious, helpless and insecure. As humans, I don’t think we share our insecurities enough because we live in a time where being ‘perfect’ is the standard. We curate our life online and pick the pretty moments to post.” Through dealing with that insecurity, she says she was able to develop a thicker skin.

Jenner says she wants to help the younger generation understand that everything and everyone is not perfect, despite what it may look like in your social feed: “My goal is to open up a dialogue around skin positivity.”

Of course, with all things Kardashian/Jenner, there will likely be some backlash. Sure, she’s being paid to talk about a product. But the fact that she’s suffered from acne and taking a lot of public criticism for her skin issues is absolutely true. People who feel bad about the appearance of their skin may not walk red carpets every day, but they do walk into offices and meetings and dates and may feel the same emotions as Jenner.

And when you think about it that way, a skin positivity conversation doesn’t sound like a bad thing at all.

Kendall and Kylie Jenner Went to Drake's New Year's Eve Party, and I'm Confused

Kendall Jenner confused me once last year when she posted a photo of herself fully awake but captioned it “I love naps,” and now she’s at it again. Her head-scratching action this time? Attending Drake’s New Year’s Eve party with sister Kylie Jenner, even though he’s infamously feuding with their brother-in-law, Kanye West.

Don’t know about that sitch? Here’s some quick background info: Kanye ignited his tumultuous relationship with Drake in mid-December when he posted a series of tweets accusing him of texting Kris Jenner and “taking food out [his] idol’s kids’ mouths.” What Kanye means by this is unclear, but we can assume he and Drake aren’t BFFs.

But that didn’t stop Kendall and Kylie from swinging by the “One Dance” rapper’s NYE bash at Delilah in Los Angeles. Check out a photo of the shindig, below. Do you see the woman in the neon green shirt? That’s Kendall! And the one with the blue wig? Yup, that’s Kylie.

Here are up-close looks at Kendall and Kylie from that night for more proof:

And, for a little refresher, here are some of the charged tweets both Kanye and Kim wrote to Drake just a few weeks ago.

The kicker to all of this is that on the same night Kylie and Kendall attended this party, Kanye was literally going off on Drake for following Kim on Instagram. TMZ has all of those screen shots, as well as Kanye’s since-deleted tweet from New Year’s Day that read, “I love Drake 2019 we will all heal.” That’s a positive message and certainly suggests Drake and Kanye’s feud is ending—but still! It’s hilarious Kendall and Kylie seemingly had nothing else to do on New Year’s Eve but attend this party. The drama of it all!

And they’ve could’ve done so many other things, too—like eat small slices of pizza in ball gowns or stare at each other in silence. These activities—which, yes, Kendall and Kylie have both actually done—are far less dramatic than attending the party of their brother-in-law’s temporary Twitter nemesis. What does Kris Jenner think?!

Meghan Markle's Security Is So Intense It Reportedly Annoyed Kendall Jenner

Everyone wants to meet Meghan Markle. You want to meet her. I want to meet her. My sister—who barely pays attention to pop-culture and may not even recognize her—wants to meet her. So I’m not exactly surprised Kendall Jenner and Rita Ora were reportedly keen on having an “audience” (a.k.a meeting) with Markle when they were all in the same building last Monday (December 10) at the Fashion Awards in London. No one was is immune to the Duchess of Sussex’s charm—not even a Kardashian-Jenner, apparently.

I can totally picture how a meeting with Kendall Jenner and Meghan Markle would go, by the way. Jenner would look tall and gorgeous and say something like, “My sisters and I are all obsessed with you.” Markle would then smile and giggle, while touching her baby bump, and say, “Thank you! Buy this cookbook!” (Dialogue courtesy of my imagination.)

Unfortunately, a meeting like this—or any meeting, for that matter—didn’t happen. According to TMZ, security around Markle was so tight at the Fashion Awards that no one could get close enough to say hello. The outlet reports Royalty Protection officers employed something called “Royal Movement,” meaning that whenever Markle was walking, all stairs and hallways in the venue had to be empty. Imagine being so iconic that guards clear out a stairway just because you want to walk to the vending machine and grab a Fanta—or, in Markle’s case, probably mineral water or something equally as fancy.

Jenner, Ora, and Victoria and David Beckham were among the stars reportedly “up in arms” about Markle’s security. Who knows if that’s true, but I’d 100 percent understand if they were bummed about not scoring a chat with Markle. I mean, imagine if Ora met Markle, slipped her a copy of her new album Phoenix, and she loved it? Hello, chart domination! What a missed opportunity.

In all sincerity, though, Markle should stream Phoenix. It’s full of bops. Better luck next time, guys.

Kendall Jenner Is Officially the Highest-Paid Model of 2018

Kendall Jenner just turned 23, but she’s already leading the modeling industry for the second consecutive year.

Forbes unveiled its annual ranking of the highest paid models yesterday (December 13.) Topping the list was Jenner, who reportedly raked in $22.5 million between June 1, 2017 and June 1, 2018.

Her earnings came with the help of some notably high-profile gigs, according to Forbes: Jenner continued her longstanding partnerships with brands like Adidas and Estée Lauder this year, and booked appearances at international fashion weeks and the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

Last year, Jenner knocked Gisele Bündchen out of the highest-earnings spot—a title she’d held since 2002—by earning a reported $22 million. This year, Jenner held onto her first-place ranking by several million dollars; Karlie Kloss followed her to second place with a reported $13 million in earnings. Rounding out the top five list of earners were Chrissy Teigen and Rosie Huntington-Whitely in a tie for third highest-earnings with $11.5 million, followed by a tie for fifth between Gisele Bündchen and Cara Delevingne with $10 million.

Despite raking in the cash in 2018, Jenner has also faced her share of controversy within the modeling industry. Earlier this year, she told Love magazine that she is “super selective” about the jobs she takes. Her quote was heavily criticized by other models who accused her of having special privileges because she belongs to a famous family. Jenner later clarified her comments in a tweet, but still received some pushback from fellow models Naomi Campbell and Ashley Graham. “These t*ts and a** have just had to fight through and break down barriers everyday,” Graham said.

Will Jenner hold on to the title for a third-year running? Check back in with Forbes next fall.
