Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's Surrogate Has Given Birth

Baby number three is here for Kim Kardashian and Kanye West! The couple welcomed their third child—a girl—via surrogate early Monday morning (January 15), Kardashian announced on her personal website. “Kanye and I are happy to announce the arrival of our healthy, beautiful baby girl,” she wrote in a short blog post. “We are incredibly grateful to our surrogate who made our dreams come true with the greatest gift one could give and to our wonderful doctors and nurses for their special care. North and Saint are especially thrilled to welcome their baby sister.”

We don’t know the name of Kardashian and West’s daughter yet, but she weighed 7 pounds and 6 ounces at the time of birth, according to their announcement.

Rumors that Kardashian and West were looking to hire a surrogate first popped up over the summer, with the couple confirming it themselves on an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians in September. “We’re having a baby!” Kardashian said in the episode. In November, Kardashian revealed having a surrogate was “so much harder” than her past pregnancies. (And that’s say something for her, seeing as how she suffered from placenta accreta after giving birth to baby Saint. That was a huge factor in her decision to hire a surrogate.)

“You know, it is really different,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “Anyone that says or thinks it is just the easy way out is just completely wrong. I think it is so much harder to go through it this way, because you are not really in control. And, you know, obviously you pick someone that you completely trust and that you have a good bond and relationship with, but it is still…knowing that I was able to carry my first two babies and not, you know, my baby now, it’s hard for me. So it’s definitely a harder experience than I anticipated just in the control area.”

Congrats, Kimye!

Kanye West Sent Kim Kardashian an Email Asking Her to Stop Wearing Big Sunglasses

Anyone who picked up a tabloid in the aughts knows that oversize sunglasses were once the great staple accessory in celebrity fashion—for reality stars, especially. (The more prominent and bedazzled the designer logo, the better.) But of late, the First Family of E!, spearheaded by Kim Kardashian, has abandoned these once-iconic, face-obscuring frames in favor of even more nostalgic eyewear: teeny-tiny, 90s inspired sunglasses. And apparently, this eyewear switch-up can be traced back to one Kanye West.

Per People, Kardashian received an e-mail from West, re: her sunglasses, which she recalled on a recent episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians. (Apparently, these sartorial memos are a regular occurrence, but that’s something to be fleshed out in a later season.) In this particular message, he had one very specific request for his wife: The oversize sunnies Kim was once known for need. To. Go.

“[Kanye] sent me a whole email like, ‘You cannot wear big glasses anymore,” Kim explained. “He sent me like, millions of ’90s photos with tiny little glasses.” Per The Cut‘s estimations, this episode was likely filmed in early May.

Of course, we’d already noticed this eyewear trend long before the episode aired—beyond Kim’s wardrobe to her entire family, and then the fashion world at large. (Bella Hadid is rarely seen without some tiny glasses perched on, and cool teen/Kardashian fan Millie Bobby Brown has worn a similarly small pair with her best outfits.) Kanye’s style influence goes even further when it comes to Kim: according to People, she was also wearing an outfit entirely picked out by the musician and designer—which, yes, included those little glasses—to explain this new norm on the show.

West’s influence on Kardashian’s style has been well-documented. He’s styled outfits from his label, Yeezy, for Kim for years; in the past few months, we’ve mainly seen her photographed in clothing exclusively from his line. And back at the start of their relationship, we all watched as Kanye cleaned out Kim’s closet on national television, and made her cry in the process. Maybe don’t throw out that collection of oversized sunnies just yet, Kim—you never know when they’ll be back.

Fans Think Taylor Swift's Being Nude in the '…Ready for It?' Video Is a Dig at Kanye West

Taylor Swift released a teaser for her “…Ready for It?” music video yesterday, and it looks amazing. From the 10 seconds we saw, it appears Swift plays some kind of neon, crime-fighting robot. Her eyes glow in the dark at one point. Lightning bolts shoot out of her hands. Oh, and she appears to be naked.

That last tidbit, naturally, sent the Internet into a tailspin. (Although it really shouldn’t have. Naked people aren’t a big deal, but here we are.) Granted, Swift’s nudity isn’t confirmed, but it sure looks like she’s sporting her birthday suit while battling these futuristic bad guys. Why is she naked, though? Fans have been chattering about this for the past 24 hours, and one theory is dominating the conversation: Kanye West.

The Internet seems to think Swift’s nudity is a not-so-subtle dig at West’s “Famous” video, in which a Swift mannequin lies next to him…completely naked. Remember when that happened?

“IS IT JUST ME OR DID EVERYBODY ELSE REALIZE THAT TAYLOR PUTTING ON A BODY SUIT AND LOOKING NAKED IS HER WAY OF DISSING KANYE & HIS FAMOUS MV,” one fan tweeted shortly after the “…Ready for It?” teaser dropped. “Remember when Kanye had that ‘naked’ Taylor for famous? She’s turning it back with android naked Taylor for#ReadyForItMusicVideo,” wrote another. Here are a few more tweets that allude to the same theory:

So is this true? It’s certainly possible. Swift’s Reputation era, thus far, has been all about firing back at the negative stories and feuds that followed her in 2016. Swiping West by stripping down perfectly aligns with that theme. We’ll probably never know for sure, though—Swift isn’t really doing press for this album—so let the theorizing continue.

Why Kim Kardashian and Kanye West No Longer Give Each Other Gifts

PHOTO: C Flanigan/FilmMagic/Getty Images

Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West are a low-key, no-frills couple. No, really: Despite the weeklong wedding celebration in May 2014 that took attendees from Versailles to Florence and millions of dollars’ worth of sparkly things they’ve gifted each other, the power couple says they actually value being “grounded and well rounded” much more than accumulating pricey material possessions.

In an interview accompanying her covershoot for the October 2017 issue of Allure, Kardashian West opened up about her and her husband’s newly tame approach to celebrating each other—which, hopefully, still allows for West to fill rooms with gorgeous white roses in honor of his wife. “I don’t like presents anymore,” she said. “We just did absolutely nothing [for our anniversary]. We spent two days in Santa Barbara, and we slept.” Kardashian West added, “You know what? I think we went to IHOP. That’s what we did.”

This zen-like philosophy—possibly stemming from the reality star’s traumatizing robbery at gunpoint in Paris last October—also extends to the couple’s children, 4-year-old daughter North and 21-month-old son Saint. “We don’t do gifts,” the 36-year-old said when asked whether she worries about her kids growing up spoiled. “[Kanye and I] talk about it all the time, about not getting too much and trying to be as grounded and well rounded as possible.”

This approach is clearly working for Kimye, who are expecting their third child, a daughter, via surrogate at the beginning of next year. During a visit to The View earlier this summer, Kardashian West gushed over her husband and their strong, supportive relationship. “We’re best friends, and I think that’s just what’s so important for us in our marriage,” she said. “I think we started off as friends for so many years and we were friends when we were in other relationships and were such a good support system for each other for so long. I think that really helped to be the basis of our relationship.”

Taylor Swift Is Being Accused of Copying Kanye West on 'Ready for It'

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West may be totally over their feud with Taylor Swift, but the Internet clearly isn’t ready to let it go just yet. Fans pounced on the thinly-veiled Kimye references littered through the lyrics and video of Taylor’s “Look What You Made Me Do” when those dropped. (Some even claimed Taylor made fun of Kim’s Paris robbery in the video.) And now, they’ve pushed this feud story even further: accusing Taylor of drawing a little too much inspiration from Kanye—specifically his 2013 album, Yeezus—on “Ready for It,” her second single off of her upcoming album, Reputation.

Here’s what people on Twitter are saying:

As Andrew Gruttadaro at The Ringer points out, “Many compared ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ to Kanye West’s 808s and Heartbreak, but ‘…Ready for It?’ draws clear inspiration from Yeezus, with an intro that sounds like a softened version of ‘On Sight’ and the kind of brutal, manufactured percussion that defined that album.” He continues, “Taylor Swift is also rapping on this song,” Hmm….

If you’re questioning all these comparisons, though, listen to the two songs for yourself and decide:

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West Reportedly Could Not Care Less About Taylor Swift's Diss Track

PHOTO: Larry Busacca/Getty Images

Last week, in the clap-back track heard round the world, Taylor Swift (allegedly) exacted year-in-the-making lyrical revenge on Kim Kardashian and Kanye West with her new single, “Look What You Made Me Do.”

The song and video are packed with subtle—and not-so-subtle—references to the couple. But in true Kim and Kanye fashion, they reacted by…not caring at all. Remember the time Amy Schumer did a slip-and-fall in front of them on the red carpet, and they completely ignored the entire thing? It’s basically that, but even icier.

According to TMZ, West is more focused on his feud with ex-BFF JAY-Z than his beef with person-he-hadn’t-heard-of-until-2009, T.Swift. Meanwhile, in Kardashian’s mind, “the whole feud ended over a year ago.” Do the math: That’s when she released the recordings that disproved Swift’s claims that she never approved the lyric’s for West’s “Famous” song—and the Internet pretty much took Kim’s side.

Kardashian celebrated the release of “Look What You Made Me Do” by tweeting a completely unrelated photo of her son the morning the song came out. Then, she blocked the snake emoji from her social media feed to avoid being spammed by Swift fans who were attempting to give Kardashian a taste of her own medicine. Still, it’s pretty clear that the Kardashian-Wests want nothing to do with the eight-year-long drama.

While Swift hasn’t officially confirmed that the song is about the rap–reality duo, the Internet is all but convinced. Everything from the album typography, which looks eerily similar to West’s Life of Pablo fonts, to the lyrics of the song that seemingly reference the “tilted stage” West used during his last tour (“I don’t like your little games / I don’t like your tilted stage / The role you made me play of the fool / No, I don’t like you.”) to the video, which makes note of the “receipts” Kardashian used to put the infamous Swift call on blast.

Even so, Kim and Kanye’s names may be underlined in red on a Taylor Swift hit-list filled with pop stars and ex-boyfriends, but it seems like they really couldn’t care less.
