Are These Incredibly Comfortable Pants From Amazon the Next ‘Amazon Coat’?

When it comes to pants, I’ve never shopped for comfort. I love leather pants that I can barely sit in and make incredibly loud squeaky noises as I walk. I love pants that are oversized to the point of inconvenience. I love vintage jeans so worn-in they rip right near my butt after only a handful of wears. In college, when everyone else was wearing sweats, I’d show up to class in thrifted flared denim from the ’70s that I had dragged through the snow. Some people have a high tolerance for uncomfortable heels (not me!)—mine is for uncomfortable pants.

This also means I don’t have a pair of pants I can just “throw on and go.” My beloved collection requires a little bit more planning. But on super-lazy days, that can be a bummer.

One day, as I was scrolling through Instagram, I stumbled across a photo of Eva Chen (the platform’s director of fashion partnerships)—she was on vacation, looking chic as hell in a pair of wide-leg pants with an elastic waist.

Not long after, she posted again, wearing the same pants but in a different color. At first glance, they weren’t something I’d typically wear—but they just looked so comfortable. I really, really wanted them.

I wasn’t the only one. Every time: Eva Chen wore them, her comments section was flooded with inquiries about the pants. “Can you take pity on my and link your pants one more time??” one user begged. Another asked, “I need these pants!!! Are they tagged?” And some were so astounded by the pants they couldn’t even write in complete sentences with comments like, “Pants!!!! PLS!!!!!”

Eventually, Chen shared the link to the magical pants in her Instagram Story. Turns out, they are $28—and from Amazon.

The Most Comfortable Bra in the World Is Incredibly Plain—But I Love It Anyway

Over the course of adulthood, I’ve worn three different bra band sizes and over six cup sizes. This isn’t a unique experience, but it’s one that has made be grow to hate bras. I think this stems mostly from having not found one that fit me properly or comfortably. I also grew up playing sports and loved the support and ease of a sports bra—something I never get from a “real” everyday bra. And though I can appreciate beautiful lace and intricate craftsmanship as much as the next person, more traditional lingerie just wouldn’t do it for me.

Eventually, I did what most experts tell you to do: get a professional bra fitting. The person doing it explained how life changes, from pregnancy or weight gain or loss (even as little as five pounds), could translate to a difference in your sizing. I, someone who has been buying the same bra size that I wore in college since I graduated, clearly needed an update—and was even shocked when she told me I should wear a 34F. That meant that I needed support for my big bust, but also must be comfortable at all times. (I can’t think straight when I’m wearing something remotely bothersome, and have been known to change into the slippers given to models on the sets of photoshoots in order to think more clearly. So, yes, it’s important.)

The bra fitter recommended getting fitted professionally every six months to a year, to ensure the most accurate sizing. But, to be honest, I could hardly see myself keeping up with that schedule—or adding anything to the adulting list, which includes doctor check-ups, teeth cleanings, vet visits… I could maybe deal with my bra not fitting quite right.

Then, I remembered a sample I had tried a few months before that. True & Co. had just debuted its True Body bras, which is meant to “look damn near invisible under clothes,” and had sent me a handful to try out. Because they’re made with this stretchy, nylon-elastane fabric and measured in sizes XS through XL (and with options for full cups, too, if you want more support), I figured this could be a good solve for my reluctance towards a biannual bra size check-up.

First impression: They’re not the most aesthetically pleasing bras on the block. They’re pretty plain—almost like the training bras you got when you were just hitting puberty. But when I put it on, I get the incredibly supportive comfort of my best sports bra, only without the dreaded uniboob look.

The material is super soft, but doesn’t stretch out throughout the day. Plus, as someone who dislikes any sort of underwire or padding, I liked that these came with removable pads, so you have the choice of wearing your bra with or without them. (I even keep the padding in most of the time, since I like the oh-so-subtle shape it gives me. This bra has truly changed me.)

The True Body bra comes in a range of styles: scoopneck, racerback, underwire, triangle. The V-neck is my go-to—I wear it almost everyday now, either in black or beige.

It’s gotten to the point where, if I can’t find it in my drawer, which is full of other bras, in the morning when I’m getting dressed, I’ll have a bit of a panic. That’s how I know I can’t live without it.

Watch Kaley Cuoco's Incredibly Sweet Wedding Vows

Only friends and family scored an invite to Kaley Cuoco and Karl Cook’s wedding last weekend, but doesn’t it feel like we were all there? She’s been so generous with details about it. Take, for example, the cute photos she posted on Instagram of her gorgeous wedding dress and after-party jumpsuit. Or the fact that we know all about the $46 worth of drugstore makeup she wore. And now, there’s even a peek at the couple’s vows.

The Big Bang Theory star posted two clips to Instagram of a wedding video—created by video agency Enjet Media—that shows key moments of the celebration like Cook and Cuoco preparing to walk down the aisle and their vows at the alter.

A voiceover of Cuoco’s sister, Briana, who officiated, sets the tone. “Love is an incredible gift that I know neither of you will take for granted. There’s power in love. Not just in romantic forms, but in any form,” she says. “There’s a certain sense in which you are loved and you know it. When someone cares for you and you know it. When you love and you show it and it actually feels right and there’s a reason for it—it has to do with the source. It’s because we were made by a power of love. I’ve truly never seen two people fit more perfectly together or be more ready to make the decision to spend the rest of their lives together.”

The pair, who refer to themselves as KC², then exchange vows that include Cook joking about Cuoco “plucking his unibrow” and Cuoco saying that “unconditional love” are the two words that come to mind when she looks at her now-husband. Of their future life together, she says, “I know it will be full of animals, adventure, and lots of laughs. I was meant for you. You are a good man, Charlie Brown, and I am yours.”

“There’s a rhythm and a pulse to us, like the ocean waves crashing upon the rocks, and just like those waves on those rocks, we feel like a force of nature,” Cook says of their relationship. “I guess that’s the power of a true human connection.”

See it, below:

The team at Enjet Media gave us a little more insight into the couple’s video. “We simply let them be themselves on-camera,” a company representative tells us via email. “Kaley wanted it to look like an old film, so we very much integrated a ‘gritty’ approach at appropriate times throughout the day and juxtaposed this playful footage with polished, cinematic shots to tell the whole story—all while letting the Cooks’ energy naturally dictate the edit. Of course, there are technical elements, logistics, planning and prep to a wedding and any film project—but in the end, it comes down to the couple. And with Kaley and Karl, it was effortless.”

What a lovely day, indeed.

Taylor Swift Just Kicked Off Pride Month in Chicago With an Incredibly Powerful Speech

June kicks off Pride Month in many cities around the world—and Taylor Swift was on hand in Chicago to get it going at her concert on Saturday night. Right before she launched into her song “Delicate,” the singer gave an emotional speech to the crowd that was dedicated to the LGBTQ+ community.

“It’s very brave to be vulnerable about your feelings in any situation, but it’s even more brave to be honest about your feelings and who you love when you know that it might be met with adversity from society,” she said while wearing a rainbow dress.

“This month and every month I want to send my love and respect to everybody who has been brave enough to be honest about how they feel, to live their lives as they are, as they feel they should be, as they identify,” Swift added.

“This is a month where I think we need to celebrate how far we’ve come, but I think we also need to acknowledge how far we have left to go. I want to send my love and respect to everybody who hasn’t felt comfortable enough to come out yet … and may you do that on your own time and may we end up in a world where everyone can live and love equally and no one has to be afraid to all say how they feel,” she continued.

“When it comes to feelings and when it comes to love and searching for someone to spend your whole life with… it’s all just really, really delicate,” Swift closed. “You know?”

You can imagine where it went from there. Fans loved it too:

30 Incredibly Thoughtful Feminist Gifts for Valentine's Day

If you’re not coupled up, the idea of celebrating Valentine’s Day can feel quite passé, capitalist, or heteronormative, even. But love, as a universal experience, can still (and should!) be shared among those closest to you: friends, family, chosen family—the ones who are there even when other romantic partners come and go. Hat tip to Leslie Knope for coming up with a great alternative to traditional notions of V-Day: Galentine’s Day. Observed on February 13, it’s an opportunity to appreciate the women you love and admire. And this year we’re doing that with gifts that celebrate feminism, give back to worthy causes, and support female-run labels. These run the gamut from posters of illustrated naked women to a subtle (or not-so-subtle, depending how you see it) vagina tote bag; we’ve also got beautiful jewelry from independent female designers such as Verameat, Erica Weiner, and Nektar De Stagni, as well as an important collection of works from activist and poet Audre Lorde. Whatever kind of woman is on your mind—a sister, friend, mother, work wife, mentor—we’re sure there’s something in this guide for everyone you want to show some love to this year.

Millie Bobby Brown's Take on Shaving Her Head for 'Stranger Things' Is Incredibly Empowering

For most of us, a new job might mean a new wardrobe and first-day haircut; however, actors are often signing on for much bigger changes. Case in point: Millie Bobby Brown, who plays Stranger Things‘ Eleven. Back on the first season of the show, she introduced herself to the audience with a totally shaved head—a bold look, especially for a then-12-year-old. As it turns out, the change marked a big moment for her as well: Brown recently shared a video of getting her head shaved at the start of filming with a caption explaining just what it meant to her.

In the clip, we see her looking a little wary at first—and then incredibly excited once she glimpses the final result. It’s clear the excitement stuck: Brown captioned the video with a message about how shaving her head was actually really empowering—an incredibly self-assured stance for a preteen to have after drastically changing what so many people consider to be an integral part of their identity.

“The day I shaved my head was the most empowering moment of my whole life,” she wrote. “The last strand of hair cut off was the moment my whole face was on show and I couldn’t hide behind my hair like I used to. The only image I had in my head about what I could possibly look like is Charlize Theron in Madmax. As I looked at myself and couldn’t see my old self, I realized that now; I have a job to do and that is to inspire other girls that your image or exterior part is not what I think is important. What I find important is caring, loving and inspiring other girls. Thought to share my thoughts during this life changing moment. ?”

She also alluded to this back in July 2016—right after Stranger Things first premiered. When it came to the decision of whether or not to shave her head, she told Glamour.com, “I thought to help and inspire people that it’s OK to have short hair, and it’s cool. Society tells us nowadays that it’s not cool to have short hair [because] boys have short hair, and girls have long hair—and, you know, I thought, ‘Why not be different and not have the blue eyes, the long blond hair?’… I wanted to also show my dedication to this project because I loved the script. I love my character. Hearing that Winona [Ryder] and such a great cast was involved with this, I thought, ‘I have to do it.'”

For women especially, hair is an external signifier that traditionally reflects both social and cultural norms, as well as even more personal parts of our identity. But going without it seemed to prove one thing for Brown: It’s what’s inside Eleven—and all of us—that empowers us the most.
