The White House Just Said Trump Accusers Are Lying About Sexual Harassment


During a press conference earlier this month, Donald Trump was questioned about an ongoing legal case involving a former Apprentice contestant—one in which the President has been accused of sexual assault.

Trump immediately dismissed the situation as “totally fake news,” adding, “It’s just fake. It’s fake. It’s made-up stuff, and it’s disgraceful, what happens, but that happens in the—that happens in the world of politics,”

The litigation dates back to last October—not long after Trump’s infamous Access Hollywood leaked—and was brought forward by Summer Zervos, who says Trump kissed and grabbed her during a meeting at a Beverly Hills hotel a decade ago. Recently, BuzzFeed reported that Trump’s campaign had been subpoenaed for “all documents concerning any accusations that were made during Donald J. Trump’s election campaign for president, that he subjected any woman to unwanted sexual touching and/or sexually inappropriate behavior.”

As the news cycle has been dominated by the barrage of reports of sexual harassment and misconduct against numerous powerful men, Trump’s ongoing legal trouble was once again brought up during Friday’s daily White House press briefing with Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

“Obviously, sexual harassment has been in the news, at least 16 women have accused the president of sexually harassing them throughout the course of the campaign,” one reporter began. “Last week during a press conference in the Rose Garden the president called these accusations fake news. Is the official White House position that all of these women are lying?”

Without mincing any words, Sanders confirmed that the White House does believe all these women are lying, saying “Yeah, we’ve been clear on that from the beginning and the President has spoken on it.”

Numerous women have come forward with allegations of sexual harassment or misconduct against the President. As accusations mounted during the 2016 campaign, Trump said that he was “a victim of one of the great political smear campaigns in the history of our country.”

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez Are Reportedly House Hunting Together

Jenny from the block is reportedly on the hunt for a new block to settle into. According to “multiple sources,” Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez are currently house-hunting together, People reports.

One source close to Lopez told the magazine that the pair are “looking for an apartment together for the whole family.” The insider added, “They will invest together in a new home when they find the perfect one. They are starting to make more financial decisions together. It’s nice for Jennifer to be with a man who has his own money and spends it wisely.”

The source also noted that J.Lo is “truly the happiest she has ever been” since she started dating A-Rod earlier this year. “They really just complement each other and make each other better people. She thinks the world of Alex and is very excited about their future together.” Another source said of J.Rod’s relationship, “They are similar in that they are the embodiment of working towards your dreams.”

The pair, who together put on the One Voice: Somos Live! A Concert for Disaster Relief last weekend to raise money for Puerto Rico, began dating in February. Since then, they’ve gushed over each other on Instagram and had family gatherings with Rodriguez’s two daughters and Lopez’s son and daughter, and they rang in their July birthdays with a joint party in Miami.

Rumors began swirling last month that the couple were planning to go full Brady Bunch and combine their two families into one New York City home. As a source told the New York Post, “Jennifer and Alex are looking at apartments together that would be large enough for the both of them and their children. Jennifer already has a place in NoMad, but Alex is currently based in Miami and doesn’t have an apartment in the city.” Earlier this month, the deal seemed all but sealed when J.Lo put her NoMad home on the market for $27 million, seemingly to clear some space on her real estate roster for a joint family home. Keep your eyes peeled, New Yorkers: The former Yankee and the Bronx-born singer could be coming to a block near you.

Taylor Swift Just Surprised a Super-Fan at Her House


Taylor Swift is super-close to her fans. During her 1989 era, she literally invited fans to her house to listen to the album ahead of time and bake cookies. She playfully stalks them on Tumblr, slides into their Instagram DMs, and even pays for their student loans sometimes. All of these actions, however, are indicative of “Old Taylor,” the persona Swift said is “dead” in her song “Look What You Made Me Do.” So does that mean Swift will keep a healthy distance away from her fans with this new era?

If her interactions from this week are any indication, the answer to that question is a resounding “no.” The “…Ready For It?” singer has been popping up in the comment sections of fans’ Instagram Lives all week, and yesterday she even visited one lucky Swiftie at her house. Yup.

Lara, a big Swift fan who lives in England, received the surprise of a lifetime when Swift herself dropped by her pad. Check out some of the photos of Swift and Lara together, below. Lara is (understandably) very shook.

Swift found Lara, naturally, on Instagram. The young fan first brushed with the pop star when she joined one of her Instagram Live feeds, and things escalated from there. A Swift fan account DMed Lara and said Swift wanted to send her a package; she gave the account her address, and lo and behold Swift herself showed up to deliver it.

“I’m shaking so much,” Lara said in an Instagram video. “I just met the woman who made the biggest impact on my life. I was able to thank her. I’m not sleeping for, like, another seven months. This means the world to me. Nothing can beat this.”

An Activist Group Is Playing Trump's 'Access Hollywood' Tape on Loop Near the White House

It’s been exactly a year since the Washington Post delivered one of the most shocking October surprises to date: the Access Hollywood tape revealing then-presidential candidate Donald Trump bragging about sexually assaulting women. Trump’s exact words—”Grab them by the pussy … You can do anything”—will likely be forever etched into the American consciousness.

But as a timely reminder to the country that this same man now occupies the White House, women’s rights group UltraViolet will be playing the video on loop from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Constitution Avenue.

“It was not so-called ‘locker room talk,’ it was a man bragging about sexually assaulting women,” UltraViolet cofounder Shaunna Thomas told the Hill. “That man may now sit in the Oval Office, but we will not let him—or anyone else—forget the tape or those comments.”

Trump had dismissed the remarks as “locker room talk” or “banter” multiple times, first in an official statement from his campaign (which has since been removed from the site), and later during his debate with Hillary Clinton. Though, for many reasons, it was been a poor excuse at the time, Trump’s apology became all the more meaningless when nearly a dozen women came forward with sexual assault allegations against him.

Trump’s so-called “locker room talk” hadn’t just been talk—according to these women’s traumatic accounts, it’d been action too.

Thomas said there’s a clear connection between Trump’s history as an alleged sexual abuser and his administration’s treatment of women. During his nine months in office, the Trump administration has diligently chipped away at women’s rights, championing health care legislation that would doom women’s reproductive health, giving state’s the go-ahead to withhold funds from abortion clinics and nixing protections for women in the workplace.

And just Friday morning, on the anniversary of his pussy-grabbing comments, the Trump administration announced it would weaken the Affordable Care Act’s mandate that employers provide birth control coverage for its employees.

Thomas isn’t surprised.

“The Donald Trump on that tape is the same Donald Trump that sits in the Oval Office every day, aggressively pursuing an anti-woman agenda,” Thomas said, “including the active dismantling of legal protections for survivors of sexual assault.”

Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee Took a Knee on the Floor of the House to Protest Donald Trump

After Donald Trump spent the weekend insulting NFL players who protest racial injustice and police brutality by kneeling during the national anthem, anger and frustration over the President’s remarks rocketed throughout the country—even reaching the floors of Congress.

Yes, on Monday evening Texas Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee stood before the House of Representatives and criticized Trump for his recent comments. In case you missed it, the controversy started last Friday when Trump brought up the NFL player protests during a campaign rally in Alabama. ” “Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, ‘Get that son of a bitch off the field right now—out, he’s fired,” he told the crowd before spending the weekend (and well into Monday) tweeting about this issue.

“There is no basis in the First Amendment that says you cannot kneel on the national anthem or in front of the flag,” Jackson Lee said. “There is no regulation that says that these young men cannot stand against the dishonoring of their mothers by you calling them, ‘fire the son of a b,’ You tell me which of those children’s mothers are a son of a b. That is racism. You cannot deny it, you cannot run for it, and I kneel in honor of them.”

The Texas Democrat then dropped down on one knee to show solidarity with the NFL players—and forcefully reproach the President.

“I kneel in front of the flag and on this floor. I kneel in honor of the First Amendment,” Jackson Lee continued. “I kneel because the flag is a symbol for freedom. I kneel because I’m going to stand against racism. I kneel because I will stand with those young men, and I’ll stand with our soldiers, and I’ll stand with America because I kneel.”

Jackson Lee is not the only member of Congress to speak out against Trump’s recent outburst. Fellow Congressional Black Caucus member John Lewis (D-Ga.) shared a similar sentiment on Twitter, saying that the NFL players are following “a long tradition.”
