Meghan Markle Reportedly Didn't Listen to the Queen About the Drama With Her Dad

The last time Thomas Markle majorly made headlines was around the royal wedding. If you remember, he was expected to attend his daughter Meghan Markle‘s nuptials to Prince Harry, but medical issues ultimately kept him away. The most perplexing part of the situation, though, was his chattiness with the press. Every time there was an update about his royal wedding attendance, Thomas gave a statement to TMZ. He’s kept up this media transparency too, talking to outlets seemingly every chance he gets. Samantha Markle, Meghan’s half-sister, is notorious for doing this as well.

Thomas’ latest media tour is generating just as much buzz as his royal wedding quotes. In a new interview with Good Morning Britain, Thomas says he’s been trying to text Meghan for weeks but hasn’t received a response. He says he’s been “ghosted” by everyone connected to Meghan and wants Queen Elizabeth II, of all people, to help mend this rift.

But the queen reportedly has her own opinions about this situation. A new feature from Vanity Fair posits she isn’t too keen on Meghan’s strategy of ignoring the drama with her father.

“[The Queen] was very concerned that it [the Thomas Markle situation] was spiraling out of control, which it was,” one observer tells VF. “Buckingham Palace wanted to be able to do something and be proactive and make the situation go away. It was a direction from the Queen, so her courtiers were under strict instructions to sort it out. But Kensington Palace was not singing from the same hymn sheet, and that was because the message was coming from Meghan. She didn’t want to engage and thought that she could handle it on her own.”

Meghan’s silence on the matter has reportedly ruffled some feathers in the palace. “There was a lot of tension between courtiers within the two royal households, and I think it just got to a point where it was stalemate and, you know, neither could move,” the source added.

From the surface, it appears Meghan’s silence method is prevailing. No one in the royal household has directly commented on the Thomas Markle drama—yet. Of course, we’ll let you know if that changes.

Hailey Baldwin Is Having Drama With a Selena Gomez Fan Account Right Now

Something is going on right now with Hailey Baldwin and a Selena Gomez fan account, and I need answers. Not since, “Was Taylor Swift in that suitcase?” has a mystery shaken me up this much. Come to think of it, this is even more severe than that. In fact, I’m certain “Hailey Baldwin vs. Random Selena Gomez Account” will soon be known as one of our culture’s most elusive events. Are you listening, history book writers? I have your next chapter right here.

OK, so here’s what went down: Sleuthy teens on the Internet noticed that Baldwin, who’s now married to Gomez’s ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber, followed a Selena Gomez fan account on Instagram called “House of Sel.” She then unfollowed the page, which led some people to believe she didn’t mean to do it in the first place. That’s pretty standard, boring Instagram behavior. I mean, how many of us have accidentally followed someone we were Insta-stalking?

Why Baldwin was on this account in the first place is still a mystery. According to the person who runs “House of Sel,” several Gomez fans accused Baldwin of “Insta-stalking” the singer because of this move, but that’s a stretch. Maybe the account popped up randomly on her home page. Maybe Baldwin secretly loves “Hands to Myself” and wanted to chat with other stans. Who knows! Either way, the follow probably wasn’t malicious.

Things get interesting, though, because Baldwin actually DMed the runner of the account to apologize for accidentally following. “Hey followed [you] by accident so sorry,” Baldwin wrote

The account head then apologized to Baldwin for throwing shade at her relationship with Bieber. “I guess it wasn’t nice of me to share my opinions on [a] relationship and people I don’t know,” they wrote. “Also I don’t and never had any hate towards [you]. Hope [you] get it.”

“It’s OK, I get it,” Baldwin replied with a smiley face. Yes, this is all real. Baldwin literally messaged back and forth with the runner of a Selena Gomez fan account because she accidentally followed it.

PHOTO: Instagram

I’m confused! Mystified! Bewildered! Baldwin probably wanted to stop any negativity online before it started, which is admirable. That being said, it’s still funny to picture her freaking out because she accidentally followed “House of Sel.” The drama of it all!

Bachelor in Paradise Season 5, Episode 8 Recap: Three Hours of Nonstop Drama

Tonight’s Bachelor in Paradise was a full—and I mean FULL—three hours of nonstop ups and downs. So let’s get right into it, shall we? Spoilers ahead.

We pick up where we left off last week: Everyone is shook that Eric agreed to go on a date with…um, I want to say Cassandra? [Pauses to Google.] Yes, Cassandra! It’s especially throwing the women in paradise off because he seemed so into Angela—to them, this is proof things in their own relationships can change. Tia, however, is the only one not worried. She and Colton are 100-percent on the same page. Well, in her mind that is…because Colton tells Kevin he’s just going through the motions with Tia: “I can’t sit around on a beach anymore and look at her everyday and know that there’s not a future.”

Colton then breaks up with Tia, claiming, “I gave it my all.” (Did you, though?) They cry in each other’s arms and both decide to leave paradise. I’d say more—but, honestly, we’ve spent enough time on Tia and Colton’s relationship, or lack thereof, this season. We’re all ready to move on.

Of course, this split does not help the vibe in the house. People are feeling even more uncertain, especially Jenna who buries herself under a comically large beach pillow to cry. Jordan comes over to comfort her and, shock, does a decent job! He doesn’t minimize her feelings; instead, he says “it’s OK to be emotional.” Good job, Jordan.

One person not stressed about Colton and Tia? John, who was taking a long nap when all of this went down. “Really? You can do that?” he asks Jordan, who broke the news to him. “What the hell.”

But back to the drama that started this all: Eric’s date with Cassandra. When they return, Cassandra describes the date simply as, “We were in a parade. It was cool.” It’s a testament to how much and yet how little happens in paradise that nobody had any follow-up questions to this. In fact, they change the subject. Imagine if your roommate came home and said her date involved leading a full parade. Would you not need a lot more details?

Maybe nobody had follow-up questions because they’re upset that Eric waited—in their opinion—too long to speak to Angela upon his return. He does eventually pull her aside, though, and she tells him her feelings were hurt because he said he was “all in” but then went on a date. Eric’s defense is that he woke up that morning with “a lot of question marks” about their relationship. “I don’t see how eight hours of sleep makes a difference,” Angela replies. But Eric turns it on her, claiming he felt like she was never as “all in” as he was. (Being “all in” is going on a date with someone else? OK.) He wants to pursue things with Cassandra now.

[Drink every time someone says “all in” this episode. Except don’t, because you’d be extremely drunk.]

This conversation doesn’t go over so well with Angela, and she responds by pulling Cassandra aside to share her side of the story. She repeats “all in” 100 times until Cassandra agrees this is “a red flag” from Eric. She doesn’t really want to side with Angela or Eric, so she tells him she’s over all of this and would like to remove herself from the narrative.

Meanwhile, Astrid also felt rocked by Tia and Colton’s breakup. She shares her concerns with Kevin, but he says there’s nothing to worry about because he’s falling in love with her. (“You’re so out of my league that I knew I was going to fall in love with you from the first second we talked.”) “I hope you know that I’m falling for you too,” she says.

The next morning, two new arrivals come to paradise: Christen a.k.a. Scallop Fingers a.k.a. Scallops and Shushanna, who right away says she’s “not here to make friends with the girls.” It’s fitting, then, that she’s greeted by Cassandra who tells her, “Oh, we don’t want you here! Haha!”

Christen and Shushanna have a double date card; Christen invites John, who agrees, and Shushanna asks Kamil to go. When Kamil tells Annaliese he’s going to go on the date, she handles it really well…until he leaves. She spends the rest of the afternoon crying and pacing around the beach.

She’s not the only one having a hard day: Poor Kevin has to watch as his ex, Ashley, arrives in paradise with her new boyfriend, Jared, to gush about their love. His face throughout this is akin to:

That alone would suck, but it gets worse: Jared proposes to Ashley on the beach while Kevin (and the rest of the cast) watches from afar.

That said, the engagement is very cute. (“I’ve been a fool … I want to make it up to you for the rest of my life,” he says. “Holy shit, it’s perfect,” she says of the ring.) Kevin even graciously gives Ashley a hug and tells her congratulations. Later, though, he admits to Astrid that he’s annoyed. He wishes he would have left the relationship earlier than he did because now he wonders if she was using him to make Jared jealous. I mean, probably? He does get a date card to make up for it, though, and he and Astrid are in love so he’s fine.

Later, as soon as Kamil returns to the villa from his date, he tells Annaliese that he has a better connection with her than Shushanna and they spend the night together. The next night, ahead of the rose ceremony, Shushanna asks Kamil why he chose “the blonde girl” over her. He admits he didn’t think they had much in common, and she tears up. Kamil, correctly, says, “You shouldn’t be crying over me!”

She’s about to go home voluntarily when Chris Harrison shows up with a twist: Jordan from New Zealand Bachelor / Bachelor Winter Games is arriving with a rose, giving one more woman a chance to stay in paradise. Naturally, all of the women are immediately attracted to his accent. Christen even tries to imitate it, to which he says, “Honestly, you sound like a drunk Mary Poppins.”

But instead of focusing her attention on New Jordan’s arrival, Chelsea decides to make a last-ditch effort to win over Kamil. Of course, this does not go over well with Annaliese. Kamil even plays along with Chelsea’s gamble for a bit, but in the end gives Annaliese his rose. The other couples at the end of the ceremony are: Astrid and Kevin, Chris and Krystal, Old Jordan and Jenna, Kendall and Joe, Eric and Cassandra, New Jordan and Shushanna, and Olivia and John.

This means Angela, Chelsea, and Christen must leave. Angela chooses the traditional “cry in the back of a SUV” exit. Things are different for Christen and Chelsea, though. After the roses are handed out, Christen says she feels nauseous and her “ears are ringing.” Meanwhile, Chelsea has a full-blown panic attack during her post-rose ceremony interview. I hope they’re both OK—but we’ll have to find out what happens when the show returns tomorrow night. See you then.

'Bachelor in Paradise' Season 5, Episode 2 Recap: The Colton and Tia Drama, Continued

So much happened on tonight’s Bachelor in Paradise—most of it Colton and Tia drama, natch—so let’s not waste time with an intro, shall we? Here’s what went down. (Spoilers ahead, of course.)

We start in medias res with Jordan and Nick getting Chris all worked up about Colton by saying things like, “We need to cut the head off the snake NOW.” Colton, unaware this has been going on, joins them to say hey.

Meanwhile, Tia humblebrags to the rest of the group about her date with Colton. Astrid is not impressed: “Nobody trusts Colton, but Tia is so tunnel vision … she’s not paying attention to the signs that are literally buzzing at her.”

Back to the bros: Chris asks Colton about his intentions with Tia while Jordan and Nick serve as the world’s worst peanut gallery. Colton says he’s still exploring his options—and that includes Tia. Chris argues that this isn’t fair to Tia because she’s clearly more invested in the relationship; if Colton’s not sure about her, he should make a clean break. Now, I don’t love being on Chris’ side on any issue, but he has a point. Colton doesn’t want a relationship with Tia, but he’s fine stringing her along until something better comes his way.

Colton, however, says he’s been very clear with Tia about his feelings, or lack thereof. Cut to Tia, gloating about their kiss and saying, “This could be the start of an amazing relationship.” Oops.

The next morning, Chris works off his anger toward Colton through tai chi. (Or something? It’s hard to say what Chris is doing.) There’s a lot of references and jokes to the Karate Kid scene, but honestly this feels more like the Hot Rod version to me.

Moving on to the other people in paradise: A date card shows up for Kenny. Yay! We need more Kenny time. He starts auditioning date partners: Bibiana, Nysha, Chelsea, Astrid, and Krystal, who Kenny eventually asks out. This annoys Kevin, who also has a crush on Krystal but is too Canadian to tell Kenny to back off.

“I’m a passionate Capricorn, so watch out.” – Jordan. As a regular Capricorn, I don’t know what this means.

Meanwhile, Jordan’s bummed he didn’t get a date card, so he invites Annaliese to dinner. She accepts. Of course, David immediately pulls Annaliese aside to “warn” her about Jordan. David, have you learned nothing?! I think Jordan could easily pull a Regina George on you:

David’s all, “I don’t mean to dwell on someone else, but… LET ME SPEND OUR ENTIRE CONVERSATION TALKING ABOUT SOMEONE ELSE.” Annaliese listens patiently before telling David she’s going to ignore everything he’s said. Jordan’s interested in her, so that’s good enough for now.

He says, “I just don’t want to see you get hurt.” Ugh, what is with the guys this season? Too many of them position themselves as “looking out” for the women in the villa when really it’s just a front for their man-baby drama.

David’s plan doesn’t work anyway, because Jordan’s date turns out to be kinda cute: champagne on the beach. At one point, Annaliese tells Jordan that she’s an artist and he says he’s “obsessed” with people who “are talented with their hands.” LOL. Somehow, this charms Annaliese and they end their date with a kiss. Looks like Jordan will get her rose this week…unless David claws his way in.

Moving on! Wells is so overwhelmed by everyone’s problems, he brought in a back-up bartender: Yuki, whom you’ll remember as the best part of Bachelor Winter Games. Her drinks may not be good, but her smile and cute crop top are fun.

Time to check in with Kenny and Krystal’s date: a lucha libre match. It’s a good pick; Kenny, a professional wrestler, gets to show off his knowledge and skills, while Krystal can relate to all the glitter. At one point, Kenny gets into a fight with the villain and goes on stage to fight him. It’s so fun! Remind me, why have we gone so long without Kenny time? Give him your rose, Krystal!

Later, they talk about Krystal’s time on The Bachelor. She admits she wasn’t on her best behavior, but she’s learned from the experience and wants to be better. Kenny gets it: The show is a pressure cooker, and everyone has a moment of weakness. They end the date with a kiss, while poor Kenny sweats profusely.

Back at the villa, Kevin—who was just moping about Krystal seconds earlier—has already moved on to Astrid. They make out on the beach and now he’s all, “I think Astrid and I are a better fit.” OK, dude.

Meanwhile, Tia’s telling the group she’s dead set on giving Colton her rose…as he’s busy flirting on the beach with…I want to say Angela, maybe? Bibiana and Kendall try to talk some sense into her. Tia understands what they’re staying, but that door is still very much wide open.

The cocktail party is the next day, and the ladies have all the power. So, as they say on Love Island, time for the guys to get grafting. Chris Harrison joins the crew to tell them two guys will be going home this week, so they should “fight for their life.” Are they, uh, dying? I hate to question the CH, but strange choice of words, no?

The guys really take this to heart and step up their game. Jordan got Annaliese a giant stuffed dog. Nick attempts to rekindle a flame that was never there in the first place with Chelsea. And Joe has a sweet conversation with Kendall, during which he tells her he only wants her rose. He might have some competition in John, though, who tells Kendall he’s interested and goes in for a kiss.

Everyone’s pairing off, so Tia decides it’s time to finally sit down with Colton and get an answer. (Like me, Bibiana is annoyed and says she’d be a-OK if Colton left.) Colton tells Tia he still “owes” it to himself to talk to other people. When she asks him if he’d be bothered to see her date other people, he says no. Oof. Tia tests this by telling Colton that she and Chris have kissed, but he’s not bothered by it. Then Colton hints that he’s still not over Becca, to which Tia asks, “Then what are you doing here?” Excellent point. She’s had enough and says, “I’m not your first choice, but I don’t want to be your second choice.” It’s a good line, but she loses some steam when she basically tells Colton that he’s going to leave if he doesn’t get on the same page with her. Colton says that’s too much pressure, but she doesn’t want to give him a rose if he’s just going to turn around and date other women in front of her.

So, Tia moves on to Chris the Goose. Chris tells Tia right away that he knows what he wants—her—and she admits she’s been waiting all day to hear that (…from Colton, but whatever). She tells Chris that she’s ready to “go for the right person.” I guess that means him. Anyway, they kiss.

Faced with going home, Colton tries to flirt with Angela but she’s heard the talk around the villa and isn’t sold. Colton’s nervous about whether or not he’ll get a rose. Who cares!

Time for the rose ceremony: Krystal gives Kenny her rose, Astrid gives Kevin her rose, and Tia gives her rose to Chris.

“I don’t want to brag because that’s just not me.” – Chris. But it is you!

Next, Kendall gives her rose to Joe, Annaliese gives hers to Jordan, and Nysha and Eric couple up. (Where’s the screen time for this love story?) Then, shock, Chelsea gives her rose to David. Angela gives her rose to John. Bibiana has the last rose of the night, and she introduces a major twist by giving it to Colton. WHAT? Why?

Her reasoning is questionable—she wants to give Colton the change to show his real self or something? This means that Nick and Wills are heading home. Bibiana, what have you done?! I can’t take another week of Colton drama, no thank you. (A plea to the Bachelor in Paradise editors: Please give us more time with literally anyone else.)

The next day, everyone talks about how annoyed they are with the Tia-Colton debacle. If the people who literally have nothing better to do than gossip around a pool are over this, why are we the viewers expected to care?

It gets worse: Becca has arrived in paradise to talk to the girls but also send Colton into a spiral. This is his reaction:

Through tears, Colton admits he wasn’t ready to come to paradise yet because he’s still in love with Becca. She’s ready to give him some closure, but we’ll see how that talk goes next time.

Also coming up: “Jordan is going to be a really amazing husband.” “It’s about to get coconuts!” “It’s time to cook goose.”

Now Chrissy Teigen Is Involved in the Drama With Meghan Markle's Family

Chrissy Teigen has found herself in the middle of arguably the biggest pop-culture mess of 2018: the drama with Meghan Markle’s family.

First, let’s back up: Remember that Meghan’s family has been all over the news since we first learned about her engagement to Prince Harry. There was all that hoopla with Meghan’s father, Thomas, attending (then not attending) the royal wedding. He ended up not going—reportedly for medical issues—but has since done several high-profile interviews talking about his daughter and the royal family.

Meghan’s siblings, notably her sister Samantha have also piped in with their two cents, making the situation even more, well, messy. Just last week Samantha gave an interview with Good Morning Britain, explaining why she and her family continue to talk about Meghan with the press. “Money makes the world go round, so if you want to call that cashing in, that’s fine, but I think no one in media would refuse a paycheck for talking about the royal[s] and, as a family, we’re not subject to royal protocol,” she said, per Page Six. “Why would I stop living because we have a family issue going on?”

Teigen chimed in on this royal-adjacent drama over the weekend, slamming Thomas for his gabbing. “This guy…this guy sucks. what is wrong with him? let your daughter be happy, please. this is embarrassing,” Teigen tweeted alongside screen shots of Thomas’ most cringe-y headlines, including one that reported that he said the late Princess Diana would’ve “loathed” the way he’s been treated by the royal family.

Samantha’s response to Chrissy—because of course she had one—was just as biting as you’d expect. “So this pudgy airhead @Christinetiegen Who knows nobody in the family is opening her pie hole?” Samantha reportedly wrote. “‘This guy’ is our father and deserves a lot of respect,.. you are the one who sucks.”

PHOTO: Twitter

Teigen hasn’t replied to Samantha’s comment, but we have a feeling she will. In fact, something tells us this Chrissy-versus-Markle-family drama is just getting started. Face palm.

Taylor Swift Just Won't Let That National Snake Day Drama Die

Let me take you back exactly two years ago: Kanye West had just released a new song, “Famous,” in which he rapped about how he’s responsible for Taylor Swift’s fame. He specifically said, “I made that bitch famous,” a line Swift claimed she didn’t know about or approve of. Fast-forward to July 17, 2016: West’s wife, Kim Kardashian, uploaded a series of Snapchat videos that showed Swift having a conversation with West about “Famous.” Swift said she hadn’t approved of the phrase “that bitch,” which the Snapchat clips corroborate, but the damage was done. Twitter users took the videos as “proof” she lied about her knowledge of “Famous,” and they branded her a “snake.” It was all very petty and dumb and ridiculous.

So what did Swift do? She made snakes the focal point of her Reputation album era. Ever since she dropped “Look What You Made Me Do” in August 2017, Swift’s been all about the snakes: snake outfits, snake social media posts, snake images in her music videos—the works. She did this all in an attempt to reclaim her narrative, which she has. We get it! Snakes are cool now! The feud is over!

Well, not for Swift’s fans, at least. They took to social media yesterday—the two-year anniversary of #SnakeGate—demanding Kardashian “apologize” to Swift for what happened. The “Delicate” singer seemingly nodded to the anniversary herself too, wearing a snakeskin-patterned bag around New York City. Of course, that could’ve just been a coincidence.

PHOTO: Getty Images

But what she said during her concert last night definitely wasn’t. “Happy National Snake Day: my favorite day of the year,” Swift exclaimed Tuesday night while performing “LWYMMD” on her Cleveland Reputation Stadium Tour stop.

She also opened up about #SnakeGate in May when she kicked off her tour, saying, “A couple of years ago, someone called me a snake on social media and it caught on. And then a lot of people called me a lot of names on social media. And I went through some really low times for a while because of it.”

So now we have definitive proof that, yes, Swift is still very much thinking about this hoopla. That bag might’ve actually been intentional, after all. Drama, drama, drama!

Here’s the thing: National Snake Day is pretty much what created Swift’s Reputation album, which is an absolute bop parade, so I can’t be 100 percent mad at it. That being said, Swift and Kardashian should probably just let dead dogs snakes lie at this point. They both are too paid and too iconic to worry about something that happened on Snapchat years ago. Their million-dollar empires and kids and British boyfriends who low-key look like Ken dolls are far more interesting talking points, TBH. After two years it’s high time for them—and their fandoms—to just shake it off.
