Though Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton have found subtle ways to subvert royal protocol over the years, they still, for the most part, adhere to it in their day-to-day lives. Outsiders get a taste of the strict rules members of that family are supposed to follow during certain events, like royal weddings. It’s always fun to see how the high-profile, royal-adjacent guests interpret these codes—and, in some cases, chose to break them. At Princess Eugenie’s nuptials, Cara Delevingne used fashion to do just that.

On Friday, October 12, the model and actress attended Princess Eugenie‘s wedding to Jack Brooksbank wearing what Vanity Fair notes is a break from the traditional interpretation of the dress code, which called for “Morning Coat/Day Dress with Hat.” Typically, “morning dress” designates menswear: a coat, waistcoat, and formal trousers. Delevingne flipped those gendered dress conventions, though, by rolling up to St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in a tux by Emporio Armani that fit that bill.

For the ceremony, she wore her “morning dress” best: a white button-down shirt, gray necktie, black waistcoat with knee-length tails, black cummerbund, and black cropped pants.

She paired it with a black top hat by Nick Fouquet and pointy-toed black stiletto heels by Chanel.

Hey, Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank invitation didn’t actually specify a dress code by gender, which could certainly be construed as a “take your pick” situation. And Cara knows her wedding look was on-point: She shared an image of her outfit on Instagram and captioned it, “Showing up the lads.”

Delevingne and Princess Eugenie are longtime friends—not only did the two famous Brits hang out at a London Fashion Week party in 2015, but Cara was also reportedly invited to Eugenie’s 25th birthday party that same year. Her sister, Poppy, was also at the wedding.

Cara Delevingne is officially a triple threat. She continues to kill it on every runway imaginable (see: Paris this season, where Ashley Benson was in the front row to watch). She’s set to star in the upcoming Amazon Prime video series Carnival Row, opposite Orlando Bloom next year. And as the face of Burberry’s new fragrance, Her, which drops today, Delevingne also proves to have a decent set of pipes. She sings a little ditty for the scent’s TV campaign (listen for yourself down below). Talk about talent.

We caught up with the 26-year-old stunner in her hometown of London to chat about her self-love beauty secrets and the tricks that keep her happy and glowing—on the small screen, red carpet, and everywhere in between.

Glamour: What’s your beauty philosophy?

Cara Delevingne: Not to label yourself or care about what other people think. It’s about being confident in who you are, what you wear, and what you look like. That’s easier said than done, but I think it’s something we should live by. And we need to praise each other. By lifting others up, we lift ourselves up.

Glamour: Is there anything that gives you a fast pick-me-up?

CD: When I’ve had a really long day, a fragrance can lift my spirits. Burberry Her reminds me of a happy person, carefree and living life to the fullest. And I always carry a mascara. I like having those really spiky Twiggy lashes that frame your eyes. When you’re tired, people don’t see that, they’re looking at your eyelashes.

Glamour: Any other products you love?

CD: Dior skin care has really made a difference in how tired my skin looks. I’m only 26, but I travel a lot and deal with eye bags. It keeps my skin looking fresh.

Glamour: You do a lot of advocacy work for young women. How would you like to see the definitions of beauty and sexuality change?

CD: Everyone’s idea of themselves, sexuality, femininity, and what it is to be human is different. The more we’re honest with each other, the more we can grow. Through acceptance and communication, we can better understand one another.

Glamour: What is your healthiest habit?

CD: I meditate, and I do yoga as much as I can. I try to do it twice a day, but sometimes I prefer to be sleeping.

Glamour: What’s your least healthy habit?

CD: Being hard on myself. Even if I do something I should be proud of, I automatically disregard it. I get scared about what other people think, and that’s bad. It’s something I’m working to change.

Glamour: How so?

CD: Realizing that the mistakes you make don’t define who you are, and that it’s OK to be angry, to be upset, to not be happy all the time. It’s OK to not smile if you don’t want to smile. It’s about learning to accept yourself.

After months of speculation about whether or not they’re dating, Ashley Benson appears to have confirmed her relationship with Cara Delevingne with a single Instagram comment — well, actually, it’s two Instagram comments.

On Monday, Delevingne posted a photo of herself looking gorgeous in a gold Balmain dress, and Benson took to the comments section to declare, “Mine.” She then followed up her initial post with another comment: “I can see your ??.” The exchange was first captured by eagle-eyed Internet sleuths @Commentsbycelebs, who watch celebrities’ Instagram comments to catch news-breaking moments like this one. Welp, that settles that, I guess.

Benson and Delevingne reportedly met on the set of their upcoming film, Her Smell, and have been photographed together multiple times in the past few months, which fueled rumors that they were involved romantically. There were a few signs that the two were possibly a couple — like the fact that they were spotted kissing in London, or that they spent Delevingne’s birthday together, or that Benson had started wearing a Taylor Swift–style necklace with the letter “C” on it — but neither one of them had spoken on the subject until now.

In fact, in a recent interview, Benson noted that she has purposely gone out of her way to keep her relationships private, despite the fact that it’s often challenging to do so. “I mean it’s hard, I don’t know, you kind of can’t get away from that if you’re in the public eye,” she said. “I just kinda try to keep myself as private as possible.”

Now that they’re (maybe) Instagram official, though, we hope that these sweet Instagram exchanges keep on coming.

No matter how strong-willed you are, it’s tough not to be swayed by trends. Even if you hate change and know you’d regret getting curtain bangs, seeing enough people wear a certain style can make you start considering it. This, however, is not the case when you’re Cara Delevingne. The many ways she’s worn her hair since buzzing it has been a victory cry for doing your own thing, and now she’s added to the repertoire with a look that’s completely new, even for her. She dyed her pixie chocolate brown.

Delevingne brought her freshly brunette color out for the first signing of her new YA book, which is on theme. New professional direction, entirely new hairstyle—who hasn’t been there? Well, most people, but that doesn’t have to dull the joy of watching Delevingne’s transformations. The cool, dark brown shade is a dramatic shift from the icy platinum she’s been wearing for the past few months, and a few notches darker than her natural light-brown color.

Clearly, Delevingne’s made a career out of following her gut and going her own way. (Remember when she invented eyebrows? Kidding, obviously.) But that said, this exact look’s not without precedent. Delevingne’s been brunette before: she tried out a chestnut color in 2014. It’s never been this short and dark, though, so the Winona-esque moment feels untapped.

To recap, that brings the count of colors Delevingne’s tried to brunette, pink, blue, platinum, silver, strawberry blond, and auburn. It’s hard to say how long this one will stick around for, but no doubt Delevingne and her longtime stylist, Mara Roszak, will find something absurdly cool to do with it.
