Jennifer Lopez Was Too Busy Looking Iconic at an Oscars After-Party to Worry About Her Snub


I’m sure Lopez had a blast at whatever after-party she chose to hit up. Here’s hoping she had a kiki with the other MVPs of awards season (in my eyes): Laura Dern, Florence Pugh, and Bong Joon-ho. You know they all wanted Lopez to get nominated for Hustlers.

Let’s take a moment to reflect on one of Lopez’s captions from last night: “Dance the night away, live your life and stay young on the floor.” She quoted her own lyrics, people. I truly cannot stress that enough. The power that she has.

Of course, Jennifer Lopez’s snub is not the Oscars’s only notable misstep. The Academy conveniently forgot that female directors are a thing and that the actors in Parasite probably contributed to its raging success. At this point, the Oscars’s only saving grace is all of Bong Joon-ho’s wins, Janelle Monae, and Brad Pitt’s tongue. Otherwise, they were a Jennifer-Lopez-less disappointment.

Here’s hoping next year we see a more diverse batch of nominees and maybe even a retroactive Oscar nom for J.Lo. What? It could happen! I’m putting it in the universe.

The Oscars 2020 After-Party Dresses You May Have Missed


After Parasite took home Best Picture at the Oscars 2020, the night was really just beginning, as the stars headed out to various after-parties around town. In fact, many of the soirées were packed with guests during the actual ceremony because some stars watch the show together just like us regular folk. They just happen to be wearing gowns and oodles of sparkling jewels that most of us can only dream of putting on.

From the famed Vanity Fair party to the annual event hosted by (Oscar winner) Elton John, the stars really turned out in their finest designer looks for Hollywood’s biggest night. Riverdale‘s Madelaine Petsch opted for a bright pink gown while Tracee Ellis Ross, Rashida Jones, Sharon Stone, and Christina Hendricks went the timeless, classic route with black dresses. Meanwhile former in-laws Caitlynn Jenner and Kaitlynn Carter both arrived at parties in white.

The Golden Globes 2020 After-Party Looks You Probably Missed


And just like that, awards season officially kicked off with Sunday night’s Golden Globes 2020. As expected, looks were turned—we’re still not over J.Lo.’s giant Valentino dress and Gwyneth Paltrow’s sheer Fendi moment—and there were some killer beauty moments to boot. Keeping with the Globes’ reputation as being one of the more relaxed awards shows of the season, the looks definitely had a dressed-up feel but didn’t feel too buttoned up.

However, after the party comes the afterparties, where celebrities really let loose and have fun with their looks. As is tradition, some stars went straight to the bash into dresses made for going-out, while others pulled a quick-change and shed their gowns for something slightly less formal. Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn Made a Rare Public Appearance Together at the SNL After-Party


For the past three years or so, Taylor Swift has kept her relationship with boyfriend Joe Alwyn pretty darn private. The two were reportedly first introduced at the Met Gala in 2016 (though that is still unconfirmed) and details about their coupledom have been more rare than those of Swift’s past relationships with celebs like Harry Styles, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Tom Hiddleston.

So fans have turned to Swift’s seventh album, Lover, dissecting every lyric, to try to learn more details about the actor. In fact, many think the lyrics on the record are basically a timeline of their love affair.

But even as we’ve gotten to “know” them a bit better as a couple, they rarely attend public events together. Until last night, that is, when Alwyn was on hand to support his girlfriend as she performed two songs on Saturday Night Live. They were also seen entering the show’s famed after-party together, hand-in-hand.
