A Fan Discovered She Took a Picture With 11-Year-Old Blake Lively at a Spice Girls Concert

Like pretty much all of us, Blake Lively was a massive Spice Girls wannabe back in the day. In fact, her fandom was so intense that she actually dressed up as Baby Spice while attending a concert back in 1997—a moment the Internet blessed us with a glimpse of this week when a Twitter user uploaded a picture of herself posing with a very young Lively at the show. As if that adorable-ness wasn’t amazing enough, the real Baby Spice actually commented on the photo, causing Lively to have a very appropriate Spice Girls-related freakout.

On Saturday, Twitter user @briamadrid posted a photo of herself with a young girl rocking the full Baby Spice look—the necklace, the pigtails, the gigantic platform shoes—and said she’d just realized the costumed fan was actually Lively. “Found a picture when I was 5 at my first concert. #SpiceGirls and took a picture with a girl dressed up as Baby Spice who I just realized now was @blakelively,” she wrote.

Lively re-posted the photo on her Instagram, writing, “Pretending to be someone else… since 1997 (Thanks @briaaamadrid for the photo of us at the Spice Girls concert. Sorry -not sorry- I tricked you into thinking I was @emmaleebunton).”

That whole interaction on its own is adorable, but it got even wilder when Emma Lee Bunton, a.k.a. Baby Spice, chimed in to compliment Lively. “So cute, you’re rocking those pigtails @blakelively,” she wrote.

Getting a thumbs-up from Baby Spice was almost too much for Lively, who tweeted a bunch of skull emojis and replied, “Forever bowing down to you. I cannot believe you know who I am. This will never be normal.”

Rumors have been circulating for a while now that the Spice Girls are planning a reunion tour soon, and Mel B recently seemed to confirm as much on the Today show.

If the reunion shows do happen, maybe Lively will have a chance to reprise her Baby Spice role—and we’d be so here for that.

You Have to Watch This Video of 11-Year-Old Meghan Markle on 'Nick News' Fighting Sexism

Long before she starred in Suits or got engaged to Prince Harry, Meghan Markle was just an average kid—one who just so happened to appear on Nick News as part of her fight for gender equality.

If you didn’t catch Markle’s appearance at the 2015 UN Women conference detailing this very experience, allow us to get you up to date. When 11-year-old Markle was watching TV advertisements in class as part of a social studies assignment, she was alarmed when a commercial for dishwashing soap proudly asserted that “women all over America are fighting greasy pots and pans.” She was especially horrified when two boys in her class loudly proclaimed that women “belong” in the kitchen.

Not wanting kids to grow up thinking that “just mom does everything” Markle took up a letter-writing campaign to protest the ad. She wrote to Hillary Clinton, who was First Lady at the time. She wrote to Gloria Allred, the noted civil rights attorney Gloria Allred. She wrote to Procter & Gamble, the manufacturer of the soap. And she wrote to Linda Ellerbee, the host of Nick News.

“If you see something that you don’t like or offended by on television or any other place, write letters and send them to the right people and you can really make a difference, not just for yourself but for lots of other people,” Markle said at the time. And her advocacy work paid off—P&G ultimately changed the slogan for their soap to say “people over America are fighting greasy pots and pans.”

Inside Edition recently obtained footage of Markle’s appearance on the Nickelodeon news show from none other than Linda Ellerbee herself—and even in the ’90s, Ellerbee could tell that Markle would go on to do great things.

“It was absolutely clear that this young woman was strong in her beliefs,” she told the nightly news program. “It didn’t matter that she was 11 years old. She believed in women and she believed in her own power and wasn’t afraid to reach out and say, ‘I want my power. I want my rights.'”

Melania Trump Thanks Chelsea Clinton for Defending 11-Year-Old Barron

As her husband riled up supporters during an unrestrained rally in Phoenix, Arizona on Tuesday night, First Lady Melania Trump offered a personal and heartfelt thank you to former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton for standing up for her son, Barron, after the 11-year-old was criticized for his clothing choices.

“Thank you @ChelseaClinton—so important to support all of our children in being themselves!” Trump wrote on Twitter.

Earlier this week, the conservative site The Daily Caller published a critique of the T-shirt and shorts Barron Trump wore on Sunday as the First Family returned to Washington from the President’s golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey. Taking issue with how the 11-year-old was dressed, the article said it was time that Barron began “dressing the part” of a president’s son.

“While the president and first lady traveled in their Sunday best, young Barron looked like he was hopping on Air Force One for a trip to the movie theater,” wrote Daily Caller entertainment reporter Ford Springer.

Chelsea, who faced her own share of criticism during her childhood in the White House, soon sprung to Barron’s defense.

“It’s high time the media and everyone leave Barron Trump alone and let him have the private childhood he deserves,” Clinton wrote in a Tweet Monday night.

And when various Twitter users were all-too-ready to criticize the 11-year-old, Chelsea was there ready to fire back:

This, of course, isn’t the first time that Chelsea’s stood up for the President’s youngest son. When Barron was criticized on social media during the inauguration in January, Chelsea slammed those who ridiculed the young boy (while also offering a subtle dig at his father’s administration): “Barron Trump deserves the chance every child does-to be a kid,” she tweeted. “Standing up for every kid also means opposing POTUS policies that hurt kids.”
