Every Outfit Kate Middleton Wore on Her Royal Tour of Pakistan With Prince William


Not long after Meghan Markle wrapped up a 10-day tour in South Africa, Kate Middleton is off on an official trip of her own, traveling to Pakistan for five days with Prince William. Sadly, we won’t get to see the couple’s three children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—on this trip, but we will get to see a lot of fashion.

Expect to see the Duchess of Cambridge in clothes by local designers (something that both she and Markle often incorporate into their wardrobes during official travel), as well as traditional dress reimagined by some of her go-to designers. (So far she has chosen a colorful shalwar kameez—a style that involves a tunic-like top over trousers frequently worn in Pakistan—by Catherine Walker.) And don’t be surprised by any callbacks to Princess Diana: Within a day of arriving, she already drew comparisons to her late mother-in-law, who visited the country in 1997, not long before she died.

According to a leaked TMZ invitation, Justin and Hailey Bieber are just weeks away from celebrating their much-anticipated second wedding, following their courthouse nuptials last year. The bride already getting excited, celebrating her wonderfully wild bachelorette party in Los Angeles with friends. For the occasion, which included penis straws and her BFF Kendall Jenner, Mrs. Bieber wore a very bridal—and very affordable—white midi dress.

Her strapless ruched midi dress is from the fast-fashion label Oh Polly, and it retails for just $57. (It’s still online, and it comes in oyster white and peach colors.) She accessorized it with “BRIDE” statement necklace and a kitschy white veil—because it wouldn’t be a bachelorette party without either of those things, right?

Baldwin clearly just wanted to have a good time and let loose with her friends. According to a source who spoke to People, she wore the dress first to dinner at Ysabel, and then to party it up at Delilah. “Hailey looked stunning in a white dress and veil. The group was in a wild, happy mood,” the source said. “You could tell Hailey was very excited to celebrated with her friends. She was all smiles.”

It looked like things got raunchy in a very bachelorette kind of way. In addition to the penis straws, there were sex toys and penis candy necklaces that Jenner had reportedly picked up herself. She was photographed leaving a sex toy shop called Hustler Hollywood, per People.

The party seems to have put everyone in good spirits before the wedding, which is rumored to happen in South Carolina. “Justin and Hailey are having a wedding ceremony and party in September. Since they only had a civil ceremony, it’s very important to them to have a religious ceremony as well,” a source previously told People. “They want to wed properly in front of family and friends.” Now that fans have seen Baldwin in her bachelorette get-up, they’re probably even more excited for the full bridal lewk.

Did you all miss Meghan Markle as much as we did during her maternity leave? After taking some time with son Archie and Prince Harry, the Duchess of Sussex is back on her official duties—and bringing a whole lot of ‘Markle Sparkle’ during a royal tour of Africa.

After officially getting back to work last week to launch her Smart Set capsule fashion collection for charity, Markle is now in South Africa for a 10-day visit, with a focus on “community, grassroots leadership, women’s and girls’ rights, mental health, HIV/AIDS, and the environment.” With a jam-packed schedule, the Duchess of Sussex is expected to make a variety of appearances in a variety of different looks. During her royal tour of Australia, we saw her mix high and low designs—many of which were created locally—while keeping true to her style of simple silhouettes. The royal arrived to New York on Friday (don’t worry, she flew commercial this time) sans Prince Harry and baby Archie. Soon after landing she took a yoga class at her favorite West Village studio. No reports on what other plans Markle has for her quick trip—royal sources confirmed she’d be headed back to England after the weekend—but last time Markle was in the city for her baby shower she was spotted with Serena at the Polo Bar in midtown, so keep your eyes peeled in the area.

Ivanka Trump Wore Statement Sleeves in Colombia, and It Didn’t Go Well


Ivanka Trump landed in Colombia earlier this week to promote her Women’s Empowerment Initiative and speak to cadets at the General Santander Police Academy. And while the White House advisor decided to wear a local designer for the occasion, the main talking point about her $1,650 Johanna Ortiz dress wasn’t fashion diplomacy—it was that her choice of fluttery sleeves had an agenda all their own.

At a photo opportunity with Colombian Vice President Marta Lucia Ramirez, Minister of National Defense Guillermo Botero, and U.S. Deputy Secretary of State John J. Sullivan, an ill-timed gust of wind sent the sleeves on Trump’s dress flying like leaves tossed into the air.

The statement sleeves didn’t go without, well, a statement: As Jennifer Jacobs, Bloomberg’s senior White House reporter, shared on Twitter, this all happened during a ceremony to honor victims of a terrorist attack that occurred earlier this year.

Ortiz’s designs are well-known for their frilly movement. In this case, though, they made for meme fodder. Twitter compared the look to everything from vegetation to a dilophosaurus flaring out, ready to spew venom.

As is the case for anyone with a high public profile, wardrobe malfunctions happen. Often at the least opportune time. Trump might have taken a page from Kate Middleton’s book and added weights to her sleeves to prevent them from acting like flying dishes with minds of their own. Or perhaps next time she’ll just save the romantic ruffles for a different occasion.
