8 Celebrity Couples Who Got Engaged Super Quickly—and Are Still Together

Cuffing season usually happens in the winter, but it’s arrived a few months ahead of schedule this year. Summer 2018’s been rife with quickie celebrity engagements. It started in June, when Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson announced their engagement after just a month of dating. Things escalated when Hailey Baldwin and Justin Bieber confirmed their engagement, and Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra followed on the heels of them. What’s in the air in Hollywood? It really seems like fast engagements are the new naked selfie.

But this phenomenon isn’t exactly new. Below, check out eight couples who managed to swap rings months after swapping numbers and are still together to tell the tale.

The Best 2018 Super Bowl Commercials

The 2018 Super Bowl is this Sunday, and if you’re anything like me, you’re…not looking forward to it. Sports just aren’t my thing, you know? And neither is the halftime performer, Justin Timberlake—no shade to him—so there’s not really much enticing me to watch.

But there is one thing I’m excited about (well, dozens of things, if you want to get technical): the commercials. Each year the Super Bowl commercials get better and better, but I don’t need to tell you that. It’s pretty common knowledge. What you might not know, though, is that some of the commercials airing this Sunday have already premiered on the Internet—and they’re incredible. These 13 are particularly on point and feature so many of your faves, including Cardi B, Chris Pratt, and Rebel Wilson. Finally, football gets interesting!

Groupon

Tiffany Haddish stars in this hilarious spot, which shows what happens when you don’t want to support local business by using Groupon. Spoiler alert: Two football players come to your house and, like, physically hurt you. (Downloads Groupon immediately.)

Amazon Alexa

When Alexa’s voice gives out, leaving millions of people in turmoil, a slew of celebrities step in to take her place, including Rebel Wilson and Cardi B. All I want from now until I die is Anthony Hopkins telling me the weather every morning.

[embedded content]

Sprint

Evelyn is a new robot still in development—kind of like Sophia—but she’s advanced enough to tell this dude he’s paying way too much money for his phone bill. And laugh at him about it. Ice cold!

[embedded content]

Jack in the Box

It’s the battle of the Asian fried chicken sandwiches in this commercial: On one side, there’s Jack in the Box, with his fast-food version of the dish. And on the other there’s—wait for it—Martha Stewart, with her fancy sandwich. This is the celebrity feud we didn’t know we needed.

[embedded content]

M&Ms

Fed up with people wanting to eat him, the red M&M transforms himself into Danny DeVito and becomes elated when everyone leaves him alone. We’ve all been there, right? (OK, not really, but DeVito is pretty hysterical in this one.)

[embedded content]

Michelob Ultra

Literally the only reason to watch this clip is Chris Pratt’s abs—and that’s good enough for me.

[embedded content]

Avocados From Mexico

A group of people living in an avocado commune go wild when they realize their chip supply is out of reach. It’s a bizarre mix of The Hunger Games and Lord of the Flues…but, ya know, with guacamole. I’m both hungry and terrified.

[embedded content]

Pepsi

All of your favorites from past Pepsi commercials reunite in this cross-generational spot, including Cindy Crawford and Britney Spears. (Well, Britney Spears circa her 2001 Pepsi commercial, but still. Nostalgia!)

[embedded content]

Doritos Blaze and Mountain Dew Ice

Honestly, what was life before this clip of Morgan Freeman lip-synching Missy Elliott’s classic “Get Ur Freak On”? Please decorate him with all the Emmys.

[embedded content]

Wendy’s

Fast-food company shade is the best kind of shade, and Wendy’s serves it in abundance—against McDonald’s—in this cheeky spot.

[embedded content]

Tide

David Harbor from Stranger Things (!!!) and Terry Bradshaw playfully square off over who’s the best Tide spokesperson in this commercial. Sorry, Bradshaw, but we have to give the prize to Jim Hopper because, well, he’s Jim Hopper.

[embedded content]

Lexus

This ad does double duty promoting Lexus and the Black Panther film with sleek visuals, lots of action, and stylist cameos from some of the film’s stars. I now want to buy a Black Panther ticket and this Lexus. They’re about the same price, right?

[embedded content]

Coca-Cola

Coke’s latest feel-good ad is a celebration of gender identities, which feels particularly poignant nowadays given that Trump wants to ban the word transgender from the CDC. Keep fighting the good fight, Coke.

New 'This Is Us' Photos Confirm Something Big About the Super Bowl Episode

The next episode of This Is Us isn’t airing until after the Super Bowl, but don’t worry: It’ll be worth the wait. Based on NBC’s hyperbolic promos instructing us to set our DVRs for “extra time,” it seems like this is going to be the episode: the one where all our questions are answered, including how Jack died. Cue that GIF of Rose from Titanic saying, “It’s been 84 years”—because it feels like that’s how long we’ve been waiting for this moment.

Granted, we did receive a tease with last week’s episode. The final five minutes revealed the cause of the fire that presumably killed Jack (spoiler: it was a Crock Pot—long story), but there’s still so much we don’t know. Why couldn’t Jack get out of the house in time? Did Kevin ever come home? Is Kate’s dog actually to blame for all of this?

Unfortunately, the photos NBC just released of the Super Bowl episode don’t answer these questions, but they do reveal something important: The episode doesn’t take place entirely on the night of the fire. In fact, these photos suggest the bulk of the episode happens in the preset-day, which is both confusing and intriguing. Is This Is Us going to wrap up the entire fire mystery in five minutes and then spend 37 on the Pearson’s Super Bowl shenanigans? Is what Beth and Randall cook on Game Day more important than Jack dying?

Peep the pictures for yourself, below, to get a taste of what’s to come. They’re pretty standard—but it’ll only be a matter of time before fans start with the theories.

Again, be sure to tune into the episode directly after the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 4. Try to save some wine for the occasion (like, an entire bottle). You’ll need it.

Khloé Kardashian Played Super Coy When Asked About Kylie Jenner's Pregnancy Rumors

Two-thirds of the Kardashian-Jenner pregnancy mysteries are solved. In September, Kim Kardashian confirmed she and Kanye West are having their third child via surrogate. Three months later, Khloé Kardashian revealed she is expecting her first baby ever with basketball-player boyfriend Tristan Thompson. However, Kylie Jenner is still keeping mum about rumors that she’s also pregnant. Save for calling her new lip kits “babies” in a video a few months ago, Kylie’s doing an excellent job at keeping people in the dark about this whole thing. Sure, her sisters may have come to her defense a few times when the speculation got out of hand, but Kylie’s yet to confirm the actual news. We straight-up don’t know if she’s pregnant yet.

And Khloé’s new interview with Ellen DeGeneres doesn’t bring us any closer to the truth, either. The Good American entrepreneur sat down with DeGeneres this week to talk about her newly-announced pregnancy, but obviously the conversation pivoted to Kylie.

“Is Kylie craving things yet?” DeGeneres asked Khloé, to which she responded, “What do you mean?”

“She’s pregnant,” DeGeneres said. Khloé, naturally, played coy at this. “Oh, I don’t know what you’re taking about,” she said.

DeGeneres didn’t back down, though. “Come on now,” she said, but Khloé bounced right back and said, “Come on, Ellen.”

“Why wasn’t she on the Christmas card?” DeGeneres then asked. “Um, I don’t know. You gotta ask Kylie,” Khloe said. “Why don’t you get Kylie on the show?”

This banter went on for a few more seconds before DeGeneres said, “She must be pregnant. There’s too much secrecy around it. Look at your eyes! Y’all, she’s pregnant…I will make a bet right now that she is pregnant. I can tell by her eyes.”

They never reached a resolution, of course. Khloé just kept smiling and calling DeGeneres “cute.” Bahhh, the madness continues. Watch all of this go down:

Unfortunately, it looks like we won’t receive anything more concrete until Kylie herself says something—probably on Snapchat.

Olivia Wilde's Blond Highlights Are Super Subtle and Majorly Pretty

There’s arguments for and against reading into celebrity hair changes. On the one hand, celebrities are people, obviously, and while sometimes they just dye their hair for the fun of it (and the Insta story), other times it goes deeper. Case in point, when Olivia Wilde chopped her hair off last winter after seeing the Melania Trump resemblance, and when she dyed her hair dark brown to get into character as Julia in 1984. She described that hair switch as “dark times call for dark hair,” and while it was a fittingly bleak statement, with the play wrapped, she just picked up some pretty beautiful blond highlights.

Wilde first took the change out for a spin at the Tribeca Chanel Women’s Filmmaker Program Luncheon, and her highlights are the best example of a tiny amount of bleach making a huge difference. The streaks come from celebrity hairstylist Owen Gould, and while it looks like they basically just dusted her ends with a few spots of caramel, the shift changes her whole look.

Especially when the light hits her flipped out ends, the lighter color reads like a hair accessory. That’s likely because instead of going for a molten, gradually ombré-d look, the blond actually starts pretty abruptly. And since it’s at her tips, it looks even cooler.

Although to be fair, Wilde probably knew it would. In her life pre-play, she was wearing a style pretty similar to her new streaks, with the same kind of blond ends that could easily be swept up in a bun for a more brunette look. If ain’t broke (and you’re not currently starring in a dystopian production), don’t fix it, etc.

The Best Shampoo for Curly Hair Is Also Super Cheap

As someone who unabashedly subscribes to the cult of conditioner, it’s the rare shampoo that can wiggle its way into my heart. With curls, honestly, it’s all about the conditioner. The very idea behind the no-poo movement is that curls need all the hydration they can get, and shampoos, with their “we’ll get your scalp clean” antics, can contribute to dry, fragile strands. It’s led some people to swear off shampoo altogether, but that’s never been an option for me (maybe TMI, but I live a life of dander). Instead, I used to soldier through shampoo as a basic necessity, following it with heavy-duty conditioner to add back moisture. That all changed when I found Desert Essence Coconut Shampoo, hands-down the best shampoo for curly hair that I’ve ever used.

Not to brag, but we met right before the beginning of the coconut oil craze. Back in those days, coconut oil was still hanging out with olive oil in gourmet food shops, but a random stroll through the Whole Foods beauty aisle found Desert Essences’ tube of shampoo in my basket. I was lured in by the smell—imagine the freshest, most decadently delicious coconut frosting smell in the world. It was love at first whiff. My sweet tooth knows no bounds; I wanted that smell all over my head.

But while the smell is incredible, that alone wouldn’t be enough to hook me for the years that this shampoo and I have been together. That passion—that commitment—is thanks to how moisturizing and detangling the shampoo is. I squirt a palmful out, run it through my hair, squish it around until a mild lather shows up, and then wait, like, two minutes. And in that time, all of the knots fall out of my hair.

I don’t say that lightly. My curls snarl like a mofo, and I usually spend 10 minutes standing under the water detangling spider knots with a wide-tooth comb. For that reason, I reach for the Coconut Shampoo on the mornings I’m either so brain dead I want to keep sleeping while standing up, or just need a good curl day to happen. It always delivers. Despite the phenomenal coconut smell, I chalk it up to the trifecta of oils included in the formula. With coconut oil, jojoba oil, and olive oil, this is the gentlest shampoo I’ve ever found—it leaves my curls clean, but it also makes that “squelch” sound that means you can skip conditioner if you want to, because your hair is full-up on moisture. As a creature of habit, I never do. But I like having the option.
