Brad Pitt Watching Jennifer Aniston's SAG Award Speech Is So Sweet

Jennifer Aniston took home the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series on Sunday, January 19, and she had someone very important watching her speech: Brad Pitt.

Yes, Pitt—who had just won the SAG for Best Supporting Actor—made a point to catch Aniston’s speech while he was backstage. “Another look at Brad Pitt watching Jennifer Aniston winning her statue for #TheMorningShow at the #SAGAwards,” The Hollywood Reporter captioned a tweet with a video of Pitt. Watch it for yourself, below:

Earlier in the evening, cameras caught Aniston’s reaction to a marriage joke Pitt made in his acceptance speech. He quipped that playing a character “who gets high, takes his shift off and doesn’t get on with his wife” was a stretch, which got a smile out of Aniston.

Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston had a brief reunion backstage at the SAGs. Here are some photos of that:

But don’t think any of this is a sign they’re getting back together. These two are just good friends—Pitt said as much at the Golden Globes when asked if he hoped to run into Aniston at the show. “I’ll run into Jen. She’s a good friend. The second most important reunion of her year,” he said, making a subtle nod to all the rumors the Friends cast is reuniting.

According to E! News, the two also had a friendly (but brief) catch-up session at a Golden Globes after-party. “They said hello very quickly,” a source said. “Jen arrived after Brad. It was brief, but [they] were very cordial and friendly and seemed happy to be there. They approached each other once they saw each other inside and looked happy as they started to hug and say hello. Jen whispered something to Brad, but it wasn’t in an affectionate way. They both didn’t seem like they wanted to make a big deal about being together in the same room although it was a private party. They were trying to be low-key. Brad left shortly after and didn’t stay at the party long.”

SAG Awards 2020: The Best Dressed Celebrities on the Red Carpet

The SAG Awards (Screen Actors Guild Awards) is always a fun show. For one, the only prizes given out are for acting, so you don’t have to suffer through a laundry list of confusing production categories. They move pretty quickly. And all your favorite celebrities actually show up. The 2020 SAG Awards, held on January 19, was no exception. Everyone from Reese Witherspoon to Jennifer Lopez made time for the 2020 SAG Awards—and they dressed for the occasion.

The red carpet was stacked with so many memorable looks. Bold colors, interesting cuts, plus stellar hair and makeup choices. In fact, I’d venture to say the Screen Actors Guild Awards red carpet is the best one from awards season…so far. We still have the Grammys and Oscars to go, of course, and you know celebrities will turn it out for those events too.

But for now, let’s celebrate the best looks from the 2020 SAG Awards. See our picks, below.

Emily Blunt's Speech at the 2019 SAG Awards Made John Krasinski Tear Up

Emily Blunt was visibly stunned to win Best Supporting Actress at the 2019 SAG Awards Sunday night (January 27) for her role in A Quiet Place—as was her husband, John Krasinski, who teared up during her acceptance speech.

“Oh my goodness me. Guys, that truly has completely blown my slicked hair back,” Blunt said in her speech. “Thank you so, so, so much. I am so moved and completely lost for words and unprepared. I am going to share this completely with my husband, John Krasinski, because the entire experience of doing this with you has completely pierced my heart directly.”

That’s when Krasinski started tearing up, and the whole room ruptured in applause. “You are a stunning filmmaker. I’m so lucky to be with you and to have done this film with you,” Blunt continued. “Thank you for giving me the part. You would have been in major trouble if you hadn’t. So you really didn’t have an option, but thank you. And thank you to the two little poems in our life, our daughters, Hazel and Violet, who will have to be at least 45 before they can see this film, but they’ll be proud of you nonetheless.”

In fact, he was proud of Blunt the whole evening. “Honored to be on the arm of this double nominee tonight! #SAGawards,” he tweeted alongside a selfie the couple took. (Blunt was also nominated for Best Actress for her role in Mary Poppins Returns.)

This was such a sweet moment:

And the way he’s cheering for her as she walked up to accept her award! This is the type of love and support we all deserve in 2019.

SAG Awards 2019: The Best Looks From the Red Carpet

Lady Gaga, Laura Harrier, and more of your favorite awards season stalwarts continue their red-carpet dominance at the SAG Awards 2019. Tonight’s show celebrates actors, specifically those in film and TV, which makes for quite the star-studded affair: Awkwafina, Angela Bassett, and Laverne Cox (among others) will be handing out the statuettes, and Megan Mullally is hosting. (Ahead of the show, the Will and Grace star shared that she couldn’t find a designer to dress her for the SAG Awards—even though she, uh, was headlining the thing.) The fashion on the red carpet reflected this, with such designer credits as Fendi (on Yara Shahidi) and Dior (on Lady Gaga.) Catch up on what all your favorites wore to this year’s ceremony, in the gallery ahead.

Read Every Word of Nicole Kidman's 2018 SAG Awards Speech on Aging in Hollywood

Nicole Kidman has won many awards over her illustrious 35-year acting career, including an Oscar, two Emmys, and four Golden Globes (as well as being honored as a 2017 Glamour Woman of the Year)—but never a SAG Award, despite being nominated nine times since 2001. It appears that the tenth time was the charm, though, as Kidman picked up her very first Screen Actors Guild at the 2018 awards ceremony for her portrayal of domestic abuse survivor Celeste in HBO’s Big Little Lies—while fighting the flu and zero sleep, no less.

“I was working until 1 A.M.—which is a fantastic blessing—last night, but I have the flu and I’m playing a pretty out-there role right now, so I have had a little trouble shedding it,” Kidman said through tears as she accepted the award. “But I’m here and I’m incredibly grateful.”

And despite being ill and exhausted, Kidman still seized the opportunity to deliver a passionate and powerful speech, calling attention to the important shifts towards equality happening in Hollywood and imploring for change to continue. But while her Golden Globes acceptance speech focused more on standing up to abuse of any kind, Kidman used her SAG Awards speech to highlight equal opportunities for women, no matter their age.

“To receive this at this stage in my life is extraordinary,” Kidman said, referencing winning her first SAG Award at age 50. She continued on to cite numerous actresses who have inspired her throughout her career (including fellow nominees Susan Sarandon and Jessica Lange). “I want to thank you all for your trailblazing performances you have given over your career, and how wonderful it is that our careers can go beyond 40 years old,” she said.

“Twenty years ago, we were pretty washed up by this stage in our lives,” Kidman added. “That’s not the case now. We have proven…and so many more are proving that we are potent and powerful and viable. I just beg that the industry stays behind us, because our stories are finally being told. It’s only the beginning, and I’m so proud to be a part of a community that is instigating this change.”

Read the speech in its entirety below:

“Oh, wow! Yikes! I’m crying. It means a lot to me. I have been working since I was 14 years old. Thank you, SAG AFTRA, for giving me something incredibly nervous. This is reality colliding with fantasy right now. I was working until 1:00 A.M—which is a fantastic blessing—last night, but I have the flu and I’m playing a pretty out there role character right now, so I have had a little trouble shedding it, but I’m here and I’m incredibly grateful.

To receive this at this stage in my life is extraordinary and at this time in the industry when these things are going on and for this role. I would like to acknowledge the other actresses in this category, Reese Witherspoon, Laura Dern, my girlfriends, first and foremost, my beyond talented acting partners, I share this with you. And also I want to say Susan Sarandon and Jessica Lange, I revere you, I watched you and I have learned from you and there are others, Meryl Streep, Jane Fonda, Judy Davis, Shirley Mcclain, Judi Dench, the list is so long.

I would like to say so many names, I can’t right now. I want to thank you all for your trail blazing performances you have given over your career and how wonderful it is that our careers today can go beyond 40 years old. Twenty years ago, we were pretty washed up by this stage in our lives, so that’s not the case now. We have proven and these actresses and so many more are proving that we are potent and powerful and viable. I just beg that the industry stays behind us because our stories are finally being told. It’s only the beginning and I’m so proud to be a part of a community that is instigating this change, but I applaud the writers, directors, and financiers behind our stories. We can continue to do this but only with the support of the industry and that money and passion. Also, I do have trail blazers in my life, Chris, Leslie, Katie, Miranda, lizzy, to my family, I’m nothing without you. Thank you to all of the actors that gave me the chance to say this.”

Pale Pink Gowns Ruled the 2018 SAG Awards Red Carpet

Oh, you thought we’d move past the millennial pink trend? Well, it appears celebrities aren’t going to let that happen without getting some last bit of mileage off the trendy hue. At the 2018 SAG Awards, many actresses decided to bring back that familiar shade pink, this time through their red-carpet formalwear. Uzo Aduba did so in chiffon (by Christian Siriano), while Connie Britton and Millie Bobby Brown preferred sequins (by Elisabetta Franchi and Calvin Klein by Appointment, respectively). Thanks to its surprising renaissance on the award show circuit, we’re thinking that the #1 color of 2017 might still carry some weight in 2018. See how seven celebrities wore millennial pink (or pale pink, or light pink—however you call it) at the 2018 SAG Awards.
