If you’re a royal family super-fan, then the Royal Ascot is basically your Super Bowl or the British equivalent of the Kentucky Derby: Every year, fancy people show up in fancy clothes and watch fancy horse-racing. The royals are always staples at the Ascot, and it’s always fun to watch. Last year, for example, a photo of Kate Middleton catching a tripping duchess at the event went viral. It’s a good time!

Unfortunately, she and Prince William don’t appear to be at the Royal Ascot today—but Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are there, and they, of course, look regal as hell. Would you expect anything less?

For the occasion, Markle went for a sleek white Givenchy dress and a Philip Treacy hat. Prince Harry wore a top hat, which is basically the only thing you need to know about his outfit.

Of course, Markle and Prince Harry weren’t the only royals at the Royal Ascot. Queen Elizabeth showed up in yellow. She seemed in good spirits—which makes sense, given her granddaughter, Zara Tindall, gave birth to a daughter on Monday.

It’s fair to say that Meghan Markle is pretty resilient. How she handled the media attention after her relationship with Prince Harry went public was nothing short of graceful and brave. And Prince Charles has taken notice of Markle’s toughness—so much so that he has a nickname for her based on it.

The royal patriarch reportedly calls his new daughter-in-law “Tungsten”—which is a type of metal—as a testament to the fact that she is “strong and unbending,” according to the Daily Mail. “Prince Charles admires Meghan for her strength and the backbone she gives Harry, who needs a tungsten-type figure in his life as he can be a bit of a softy,” a source told the publication. “It’s become a term of endearment.”

Strange? Sure. But also really, really sweet.

The New York Daily News reported that Markle helped inspire Prince Harry to quit smoking and live a healthier lifestyle, so the moniker certainly makes sense.

From the outside, it seems like Markle and Prince Charles have quite a close relationship. After Markle’s own father was unable to attend the royal wedding, Prince Charles was tapped to walk her down the aisle at St. George’s Chapel, and was reportedly “terribly touched” to have had the honor. Markle was also said to have helped repair the elder prince’s relationship with his son. “Meghan met Charles and was bowled over by his charm,” a source told Daily Mail. “She told Harry he was wonderful: welcoming, warm, hard-working, kind, and stable. She made it clear that he should appreciate him and bond more.”

Prince Charles had equally flattering praise for Markle, according to Daily Mail: “She is so intelligent and so nice. She makes Harry happy. We could not like her more,” he reportedly thinks.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been in full couple mode following their Royal Wedding, making appearance after stunning appearance together all over the U.K. This weekend, they turned up in Lincolnshire to watch Prince Harry’s cousin, Celia McCorquodale, tie the knot and of course they looked as adorably in love as always. Even a moment when Meghan tripped for about a half-second became a sweet gesture, as Prince Harry quickly turned to her to make sure she was okay.

As they were walking into the wedding hand-in-hand, Markle’s white heel looked like it got stuck in the lawn—and she stumbled so briefly, you’d miss it if you blinked. Prince Harry seemed to grip her hand a little tighter, like the prince he is. Meghan, meanwhile, regained her balance, flashed a smile, and continued being flawless in a blue paisley wrap dress and classy white fascinator. Let’s be honest, though: Even if Meghan had fully tripped and fallen, we have no doubt it would have been the most graceful fall in princess history. Still, we’re glad Prince Harry was there to give her a literal hand.

The two continued making their way to the St. Andrew and St. Mary’s Church in the small village of Stoke Rochford, where the wedding was being held. The bride, Celia, was the daughter of Princess Diana’s sister Lady Sarah McCorquodale, and she’s an absolute dead ringer for the late Princess of Wales. She even paid her own little homage to Harry’s mother by wearing the same gorgeous diamond tiara Diana wore at her wedding in 1981. The piece seems to have become an important heirloom and, according to the Mirror, several women in the family have worn it on their wedding, including both of Diana’s sisters.

McCorquodale attended Harry and Megan’s royal wedding back in May, so we’re sure the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were happy to return the favor—and they’re probably glad they get to rest easy now that their big day is over and happily entered into the history books.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry may be home from their actual post-wedding getaway but the two are still very much in that honeymoon state of mind. The Duchess of Sussex just made her first public appearance without her husband, but she made sure to give him the sweetest shout-out.

During her first solo outing with Queen Elizabeth II in Chester, England, Markle revealed to fans that she’s absolutely loving the newlywed life. One well-wisher in particular, Sharon Briscoe, 61, traveled about 25 miles east from Chirk, Wales and was given the chance to speak with the Duchess, according to People.

“It is wonderful,” Markle told her during their conversation. “I’m really enjoying it.”

Briscoe said that she told Markle, “I said to give our love to Harry and to look after him,” to which she replied, “I will do. That means an awful lot to us. He’s the best husband ever.”

Briscoe said she also told the Duchess that she “looked radiant” and her Highness replied, “That’s so kind.”

“She seems so genuine and really warm and not rushing with people,” Briscoe said of Markle.

The Duchess’ first royal engagement with the Queen was especially significant—and not just because of Prince Harry’s absence. The queen invited Markle to ride the royal train with her, an honor that not even Prince Harry’s had. After a 205-mile train ride, she and the queen made their way to Mersey Gateway Bridge, where local school children performed for them at the Storyhouse Theatre. The two then went to Chester’s town center and met with members of the public before going to lunch at the Chester Town Hall.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently got back from their honeymoon, and the one thing everyone wanted to know was: Where the hell did they go!? Unfortunately for us, the tight-lipped royals weren’t telling, leaving conflicting reports that claimed they’d jet-setted to wildly different continents. Now, it looks like those who predicted they would vacation in Africa got it right the first time. On Wednesday, a new source told E! News that the newlyweds visited more than two unspecified countries in East Africa. There, they embarked on safaris and miscellaneous “outdoor adventures” and also basked in the sun, E! News reports.

“It was the perfect break and blend of their passions,” the source told E! News. “Restorative and the perfect holiday before starting a very busy second half of 2018.”

Previously, TMZ reported that the couple had had their honeymoon in Alberta, Canada. The outlet’s sources claimed they stayed at the 6,000-square foot Outlook Cabin at Jasper National Park’s Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, a resort apparently popular with other royals and celebrities. Shortly after, a resort spokesperson denied the rumors. “Though Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge has a longstanding history of serving as a royal retreat, we can confirm that the couple is not currently booked for a stay,” the spokesperson said, according to Canada’s National Post.

Of course, that was just speculation. Originally, the Daily Mail and the Daily Express claimed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would be going to Namibia. While the country lies in the southwest region of Africa, and not the east, it looks like they were at least closer than the Canada/Ireland rumors. Of course, there’s always a chance this latest report may turn out to be wrong again. Guess we’ll never know. Regardless, we hope they had a great time.

From her truly inspirational dedication to her messy bun to the extremely memeable way she looks at her man, Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, has had her fair share of relatable moments. And it looks like that’s not changing anytime soon.

On Saturday, she showed up with the rest of the royal family to Queen Elizabeth II’s official birthday celebration, the Trooping the Colour event in London. Obviously, everyone looked gorgeous, and there were plenty of cute exchanges between the littlest royals. But there was one tiny, blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment between Markle and Prince Harry that was just too real. According to a video uploaded by Instagram account @harry_meghan_updates, there’s one point during the event where the entire royal family is standing up at the balcony. As the camera pans to where Markle is standing in between Kate Middleton and Prince Harry, she can be seen whispering, “Do it?” to which Harry whispers back, “Yes.” She then curtsies triumphantly. Which, same.

This wasn’t the only adorable moment caught between the newlyweds. At another point in the ceremony, Prince Harry can apparently be seen checking in to see if Markle is hanging in there. According to The Mirror‘s lip-reader, the Duke of Sussex reportedly asks his wife if she’s “okay,” to which she reportedly replies, “Yeah, are you?” After Prince Harry answers in kind, the Duchess of Sussex then reportedly says she’s “nervous,” and Prince Harry calms her nerves by explaining what happens next.

At least, that’s what the lip-reader says. To us, she looks super cool and collected. In the eternal words of Kris Jenner, “You’re doing amazing, sweetie.”
