    Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton's Christmas Day Outfits Are a Gift to Us All


    Meghan Markle might be breaking royal protocol by spending Christmas with her fiancé, Prince Harry, but there’s one protocol she’s sticking to: dressing impeccably for royal outings. Meghan joined the royal family for her very first Christmas Day service, and she’s already proving that she can keep up with her famously fashionable almost-sister-in-law, Kate Middleton.

    The soon-to-be family members arrived for Christmas Day services at the Church of St. Mary Magdalene, and the coats alone were probably enough to make the expectant crowd’s wait to see the royal family worth it (some of them had arrived at 2:30 A.M. to catch a glimpse!).

    Meghan stepped out wearing a tan wide-collar Sentaler coat and very on-trend circular Chloé bag. She topped of the ensemble with a Philip Treacy fascinator-ish hat, leather gloves, and suede Stuart Weitzman boots.

    Kate went super festive in a Christmas tartan Miu Miu coat embellished by a double row of brass buttons and topped off with a delightful fur hat. The $2,200 coat is, of course, sold out now, so a very merry Christmas to all you new Kate coat owners indeed.

    Selena Gomez Wore 5 Outfits in One Day, Because Why Not


    When it comes to celebrity style sightings, we’ve notice a new, very involved, trend: One outfit per day just doesn’t cut it anymore. Now, everyone from Blake Lively to Céline Dion have taken advantage of press tours and Fashion Week schedules to really show off their fashion chops, stretching their closets and squeezing in a wardrobe change at every venue they visit. Selena Gomez is the latest to join this elite club of very style-savvy celebrities, packing in a whopping five outfits into a 24-hour period. The performer is in London promoting her music, but she’s also used it as an opportunity to serve some serious lewks. And honestly, if we had as many fire outfits as Gomez packed for this quick trip across the pond, we’d probably do the same. Across the board, she stuck to dark, wintry colors and a pair of cat-eye sunglasses that made us want to raid her closet ASAP (or, more realistically, appoint her the unofficial party-outfit muse for this season).     Meghan Markle's Complete Style Evolution, in 74 Outfits


    It’ll probably be a while until the excitement of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s engagement wears off. (Just kidding, we’ll never be over it.) And already, the Duchess-to-be is proving to be a fashion influence: Royal fans were immediately smitten with the outfit Markle wore to share her new relationship status with the world—so much so that her coat immediately sold out and was re-named after her. If you go back through the archives, though—even back to her pre-Suits days, the actress has always shown a proclivity for fashion: She considers designer Misha Nonoo a friend, and has made the rounds on the Fashion Week circuit; she gravitated towards simple sheath dresses earlier on in her career, but has since graduated to more varied pieces from labels like Alexander McQueen and Erdem. Judging from her style evolution, we have a feeling we’ll be getting even more great fashion inspiration from Markle once she assumed the royal spotlight.

    5 Celebrity Outfits That'll Convince You to Try Out the Beret Trend


    As with any fashion trend I skeptically buy into (creeper sneakers, furry slides, Tuesday tulle), this story begins with Rihanna. Last March, she arrived to Dior‘s Fall 2017 show during Paris Fashion Week wearing what would be that collection’s hallmark accessory, worn by every single model down Maria Grazia Chiuri‘s runway: a black leather beret. These were, according to the designer, admittedly more military-inspired (and politically charged) than the “how to dress like a French girl” stereotype (as was a recurring theme that season). And on Rihanna, it was obviously, unimpeachably cool.

    Soon enough, the headgear had transcended the catwalk and evolved into a more mainstream trend. First Bad Gal RiRi, then the street-style crowd; then frequently photographed celebrities and models; then all the way down the retail chain to fast fashion. Now, you’re more likely to spot a well-dressed stranger in a perfectly tilted beret than a calculatedly slouchy beanie on the street when it’s cold out. It’s an accessory that’s never truly left the fashion imagination—partly thanks to the industry’s unfaltering fascination with “Parisian style,” and partly thanks to season-two Carrie Bradshaw—but is suddenly more relevant than ever, thanks to some choice high profile sightings that could sway anyone for this trend.
