The Weeknd and Bella Hadid Wore Matching Camo Outfits to His Birthday Party

Couples that dress alike definitely give off a certain “truly committed” vibe—both to each other and to their looks. Case in point, this roundup of celebrity twosomes who are known for doing just that. Now, our files have just grown by one more entry: Bella Hadid and Abel Tesfaye, a.k.a. The Weeknd, wore virtually the same outfit for his recent birthday party, and it’s a whole thing.

A little background: Hadid and The Weeknd have been in an on-and-off relationship since 2015. After sharing a post-breakup moment on the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show runway in November 2016, the couple were seen kissing at Coachella in April a few months later. They seem to have been together since and now reportedly share a $60,000-per-month Tribeca apartment.

If we’ve learned anything about them during this dating rollercoaster, it’s that they’re way into celebrating each other’s birthdays. Last October Hadid and the Weeknd were seen out and about on her 22nd birthday in New York City drinking Champagne, eating macarons at Ladurée in Soho, and dancing the night away at a surprise party.

Following precedent, Hadid pulled out all the stops for the Starboy singer’s 29th birthday last night. After the model gifted him a framed Michael Jackson-themed Mad Magazine cover, they took to the club in matching camouflage outfits.

“[One] minute til my favorite day of the year,” Hadid wrote underneath a photo of her and The Weeknd posing in their similar sets.

The Weeknd chose a camo zip-up jacket and pants with R13’s men stack boot, while Hadid opted for a camo bralette and oversized R13 shearling jacket paired with an olive green skirt, sheer Prada socks, and Timberland-style heels.

The singer, who’s been teasing a fourth album, also showed off the outfits on his ‘gram.

Of course, there were more pre-party pics to be found on Hadid’s Instagram Stories.

If you can believe it, there is even more camo in this clip. We sense a theme.

May their coming year be blessed with even more matching looks—we’ll be waiting.

Melania Trump's Stylist Wants You to Stop Reading Into Her Outfits

A First Lady’s wardrobe is often the subject of public scrutiny. That’s certainly been true of Melania Trump‘s fashion choices: Despite her insistence that the media and the President’s detractors assign meaning to her outfits where there is none, many of her looks have been criticized for their exorbitant price point and apparent mixed messaging. And with a white-out planned by Democratic lawmakers for the 2019 State of the Union, some wondered what the First Lady would wear to the event.

Trump and stylist Hervé Pierre landed on a black trench dress by Burberry for the President’s address to the nation. And in an interview with WWD, Pierre was quick to clarify that the public shouldn’t read into the choice of designer—or anything else she wears while residing in the White House.

Alex Wong

“As long as I find the right outfit, the designer is almost irrelevant,” the stylist told WWD. “The designer, well, is Burberry, but it could have been anybody else. It has nothing to do with England or Brexit. If I would have to think of all these things when I look at dresses and outfits, I would lose my mind.

“Afterward, social media will go on about Brexit or whatever,” Pierre continued. “They have to do their own version of this. On my side, believe me, I don’t think of it. Because I don’t have time to do that.”

In the case of Trump’s State of the Union look, Pierre explained that the Burberry trench dress was a practical choice: “It’s very sharp and straight to the point. There is no room for fluff or something cute. I think she is a daring woman, but it has to be right. It is not a costume.” The stylist bought the dress for the First Lady in New York City, according to WWD. The Melton Wool Tailored Coat, from Riccardo Tisci’s debut collection from the brand, retails for $2,390.

Last year Trump wore a white Christian Dior pantsuit and Dolce & Gabbana blouse to the State of the Union. Some interpreted it as a reference to Hillary Clinton’s white inauguration pantsuit and the suffragette movement. Onlookers also noted that Dior is currently led by Maria Grazia Chiuri, a designer who has identified herself and her work as feminist.

According to Pierre, though, these interpretations simply aren’t something he thinks about when he’s dressing the First Lady. Her outfits may ignite conversation, but they’re apparently not intended to communicate any larger message.

Winter Outfits for 2019 You Can Buy on Amazon

There are a handful of Amazon items that become Internet-famous—like that one winter jacket everyone from Upper East Side moms to your neighbors own. Some people love it, some people don’t—but odds are, they’ve all bought something on the site. I mean, there’s something incredibly satisfying about putting that new Timothée Chalamet magazine cover (just me?) and home cleaning products in the same cart. The one thing I personally never thought I would go to Amazon for, though, was my wardrobe.

The truth is, I’m an Amazon skeptic—I only got Prime a couple months ago. (Insert gasp here.) See, I spend most of my money on clothing, and I don’t really think of Amazon as a destination for fashion, despite the fact that so many brands have wised up and started selling their goods on there. That perception started to shift at the end of last year, though—the weather was getting colder, fast, and I needed some extra layers.

That urgency (and a desire to not blow my entire budget on one season) lead me to Amazon to pick up some winter essentials on a budget and time crunch. What I discovered was that there were some incredible finds on there from some of my favorite brands, from Dr. Marten’s platforms to Carhartt beanies to velvet headbands like the ones all over Instagram. I ended up with 12 solid items that have transformed my approach to winter dressing. So now I’m sharing the wealth: Shop the best pieces for your cold-weather wardrobe on Amazon, ahead.

'Thank U, Next' Ariana Grande Music Video: Best Outfits To Shop

In one of her first public appearances since ending her engagement to Pete Davidson, Ariana Grande proudly shopped in New York City, wearing an oversize white puffer coat and with two larger-than-her-ponytail Chanel bags. It was, indisputably, iconic. They say a photo speaks a thousand words, but this one spoke just three: Thank U, Next.

Weeks later, Grande teased the release of her song by that name, dropping it 30 minutes before SNL premiered that Saturday in October. The timing had everyone convinced it would be a Davidson diss track, but it was the exact opposite: a self-love anthem coupled with a series of affectionate acknowledgments to her exes. It was the positive breakup bop we never knew we needed.

On Friday, November 30, Grande blessed us again with the highly anticipated “Thank U, Next” video, which was a surprise ode to the most quintessential female-driven rom-coms of the 2000s (Mean Girls, Legally Blonde, 13 Going on 30, and Bring It On). A unifying thread—in addition to sweet, sweet nostalgia—is that there’s a breakup within each plot, but the stories themselves aren’t about guys or revenge: They’re about young women empowering themselves, just like Grande’s song.

And let’s not forget the the outfits. Each movie features looks that are unabashedly feminine and indicative of the era’s trends: pink feather tops, plaid mini skirts, and cherry red cheerleading outfits. The main characters may have started out dressing to impress some guy, but ultimately, their decision to look good is all about doing and wearing what’s best for them. Elle Woods can kick your ass in court while wearing a pink suit just like Grande will own the conversation on her relationship in her own terms—while wearing a hot pink feather tube top or carrying two huge Chanel shopping bags. What, like it’s hard?

See below for the best looks from the “Thank, U Next” video and how to shop each look.
