Demi Lovato Accidentally Popped Up on Her Rumored New Boyfriend Max Ehrich's Instagram Live

Just last week, reports emerged that Demi Lovato had a new man in her life: The Young and the Restless star Max Ehrich. Now, the pop star may have confirmed the news by accidentally appearing in his Instagram Live stream.

While fans have recently picked up on Lovato and Ehrich posting flirty comments on each other’s Instagram posts—not to mention his Instagramposts with her pets—neither has commented publicly on the relationship. Of course, they could just be two friends social distancing together during a global pandemic… In fact, at the beginning of March, Lovato claimed to be single on The Ellen Degeneres Show.

“I was on dating apps for a while but as I’ve spent some time with myself over the past couple months, I realized that I am the type of person that will find any way to regulate when I’m sad or lonely or whatever,” she said. “I have to fight those battles on my own and I can’t let somebody come in and fix those issues for me. So right now, I’m single and spending my Saturday nights by myself.”

However, on March 25, a source with Us Weekly said otherwise, asserting that the relationship “is off to a strong start,” while a second source told the publication that the pair “met a few weeks ago.” So, the timeline appears to track.

Just a few days ago, Ehrich shared a video on Instagram, singing “Yellow” by Coldplay. “4D?<3,” he captioned the post. One could reasonably assume that translates to “for Demi,” right? Fans sure thought so.

Then, just yesterday on March 28, Lovato made an accidental appearance in Ehrich’s Instagram Live. He was performing on the piano when Lovato walked into the frame. Ehrich seemed to mouth “I’m live” multiple times before she realized, covering her face with a blanket, making a surprised sound, and popping right back out of the shot—it was all pretty adorable if you ask me.

Now seems like a good time to start planning their official ship name as we wait for confirmation…Demix? Dax? I’ll keep thinking.

A Friends Reunion Special Is Reportedly in the Works at HBO Max

This is not a drill. We repeat, this is not a drill: A Friends reunion special is reportedly being developed by Warner Bros. yet-to-launch streaming service, HBO Max. (HBO Max will, of course, be the home for all 10 original seasons of Friends when it leaves Netflix at the end of the year.)

The Hollywood Reporter says talks are underway with all six original cast members—Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer—as well as the show’s creators, David Crane and Marta Kauffman. THR notes that a deal is far from done, so everyone keep your fingers crossed.

Also, this is not a reboot, but an unscripted reunion. So it’s good to manage your expectations on that front, too. We aren’t going to see what’s happened to Ross and Rachel over the years or how Chandler and Monica’s twins turned out—though I’d hope those would be topics for discussion when the whole cast is back together again.

While various cast members, and Aniston in particular, have been pretty steadfast in saying that a reboot is not happening, she recently hinted at a project—and perhaps this is it. “We would love for there to be something,” she told Ellen DeGeneres. “But we don’t know what that something is. So we’re just trying. We’re working on something.” And a few months before that she said, “Listen, I told you this: I would do it. The girls would do it. And the boys would do it, I’m sure.”

And the Friends cast has been spending time together lately. Aniston launched her Instagram with a photo of the six of them having dinner, and Cox recently posted a photo of her and Perry after a lunch date.

It may not be the reboot many fans have been clamoring for, but we’ll take it—and likely love it.

HBO Max Is Making a ‘Practical Magic’ Prequel Series—Here’s Everything We Know

I consider Practical Magic to be one of the greatest (and perhaps underrated) Halloween movies around. So the news that HBO Max—the yet-to-launch streaming service that will also be home to Friends once it leaves Netflix—is developing a prequel is extremely good news. The story of sisters Sally (Sandra Bullock) and Gillian Owens (Nicole Kidman) who are born with magical powers they try to avoid—until they can’t—is the perfect mix of comedy, drama, romance, and horror. Oh, and it features some extremely great hair.

Variety reports that the streaming platform has ordered a pilot for the one-hour show called Rules of Magic. It will center around siblings Jet, Franny, and Vincent Owens who have “abnormalities that have kept them isolated.” They soon discover that they are descended from a line of witches.

Here’s everything we know so far.

The source material is based on a book. The series will be based on the Alice Hoffman novels Rules of Magic and Practical Magic, the latter of which was also adapted for the 1998 movie.

The setting won’t be Massachusetts, where the 1998 film mostly took place. According to the Variety report, Rules of Magic will be set in 1960s New York City.

There’s a strong connection to the movie. Fans of Practical Magic, of course, remember Kidman and Bullock’s magically powerful aunts from the movie, where they were played by Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing. Rules of Magic is basically the Franny and Jet origin story. As for their brother, Variety says he will leave “an unexpected legacy.”

The series’s writer has a history of developing strong female characters. Per Variety, the show will be written and produced by Jessica Jones creator Melissa Rosenberg.

The release date and cast are still unknown. The show is still in preproduction, so it’s unclear at this time when it will premiere—or who will be playing the main roles.

This post will be updated as new details emerge.

The Handmaid's Tale: Max Minghella On Why You Should Still Trust Nick This Season

In The Handmaid’s Tale, the 32-year-old plays Nick, a government spy and brooding love interest to Offred (Elisabeth Moss). Season one ended with (spoiler alert!) Offred being carted off to an uncertain fate. As a big, black van is about to drive her away, Nick opens the door and whispers to her, “Just go with it. Trust me.” So why, exactly, do we root for this guy again?

GLAMOUR: Last season ended on an ambiguous note. Can we really trust Nick?

MAX MINGHELLA: Yeah. I mean, I trust Nick. I stand by him! I don’t want to give anything away, but all the characters in this show are capable of doing good and bad things, which is one of the reasons it’s so compelling to watch. I think, at the root of Nick, he’s a good person. Whether he always does the right thing is a different question.

GLAMOUR: By virtue of his gender, he’s guilty until proven innocent. Thoughts?

MM: I mean, I feel all men are guilty until proven innocent, in general. Maybe that has to do with the fact that women have been subjugated for so long, or that men can be gross in a way women rarely are. Having been a man for 32 years, I’ve always had a very cynical view of my gender. I’m relieved the rest of the world is now sharing it.

GLAMOUR: The show does such a good job of showing how complicated sex can be. For example, women can still get pleasure from sex during trying times. Has the show impacted your own views about sex?

MM: I’m a big advocate of sex, and I actually like exploring it a lot! I often find myself shooting sex scenes on the show. I don’t find them to be super straightforward. We always try and make them complicated and as dense as a heavy dialogue scene. You know, there’s no reason for them to be exploitative. One of the things I thought was so fascinating when I first read this show, almost two years ago now, was that the sex in the show was often quite perverse and disturbing and multilayered, and I thought that that was a new and exciting way to approach that subject.

GLAMOUR: Nick is the strong silent type, which can be very appealing to many women. How are you in real life?

MM: I don’t think Nick and I are super far away from each other. I mean I do think again [our showrunner] Bruce is very clever about seeing who we are as individuals and finding ways to incorporate that into the characters, especially in season two. I think we all have um an essence, which is close to who we’re playing, which makes it a lot easier.

GLAMOUR: How has being someone who listens more and understands the power of silence served you in real life—in your dating life, in any other scenarios?

MM: I don’t know if it serves me at all. I think sometimes I wish I was much more charming than I am or better in a crowd. I often feel like I don’t know what to do in sort of a large group of people, so I think I’d like to be more fun. Nick and I could both use is a bit more lightness.

GLAMOUR: You’ve said that, growing up, you were concerned with being cool. Do you regret that?

MM: I never felt “present” in high school. I was always concerned with having as much fun as possible. And I definitely thought, That’s going to be easier to do if you’re hanging out with the right people. Like, the math club is probably going to less-good parties than the football team. I don’t think I was wrong. I had an amazing time.

GLAMOUR: What’s the biggest trouble you got yourself into back then?

MM: That’s a dangerous question! I think I did cause my parents endless anxiety. I started working when I was about 16. It’s very difficult to go back living under your parents’ roof when you’ve been living on your own, and that’s when I felt a lot of tension was, but I’m going to leave out specifics…

GLAMOUR: You’ve called yourself a pop-culture whore. Go on…

MM: It’s completely true. I’m obsessed with pop culture. I really am. I’m not, like, a great intellectual. I’m a Top 40 guy, I’m really into Riverdale. I love that it’s so clean and pop-y on the surface with something so sinister underneath.

GLAMOUR: We have to ask—your best friend, Jamie Bell, married your ex-girlfriend Kate Mara. How does that work?

MM: Nobody’s ever asked me about that. I will tell you this: It’s a beautiful part of my life. I see them every single morning, and Jamie’s son is my godson. I can understand why the optics might be very confusing, but it’s not a complicated thing for us.

The Handmaid’s Tale returns to Hulu on April 25th
