Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Are Reportedly Only Leaving the House for One Thing

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made one promise to fans before logging off their Sussex Royal Instagram account for good. “As we all find the part we are to play in this global shift and changing of habits, we are focusing this new chapter to understand how we can best contribute,” they wrote in a caption on March 30. “While you may not see us here, the work continues.”

These were clearly not just words. Since moving to Los Angeles in March, the low-key royal couple has been volunteering with Project Angel Food, an L.A. organization that prepares and delivers healthy meals to those affected by COVID-19 and other illnesses.

“They told us they heard our drivers were overloaded and wanted to volunteer to lighten the drivers’ workload,” Project Angel Food’s executive director, Richard Ayoub, told Entertainment Tonight. The couple reportedly followed all social distancing guidelines, staying six feet away from others, and wore masks and gloves. “I am blown away that they chose us. They care about our vulnerable population,” Ayoub said. “Our clients are most at risk to contract the coronavirus, having compromised immune systems including heart disease, lung disease, diabetes, and most are over the age of 60.”

Prince Harry also recently joined a video call with parents and medical workers associated with WellChild, an organization providing care to seriously ill children and young people in the U.K.

“[Meghan and Harry] felt helpless reading about everything going on and wanted to get out and contribute,” a source told People on April 23.

Another source told People that “they only leave their house for charity work.” Makes sense!

Otherwise, life in L.A. has reportedly been “liberating” for Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, and baby Archie. “They order from Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s, and they don’t have a chef right now, so Meghan often cooks,” a source told Us Weekly this week.

We stan an altruistic couple!

Meghan Markle Will Give Her First TV Interview Since Leaving the U.K. on Good Morning America

For those of you who’ve been desperate to hear from Meghan Markle since the duchess and Prince Harry stepped down from their senior royal duties, pay attention.

Over the weekend, Good Morning America advertised the appearance, noting that Markle will share an exclusive first look at her the Disney documentary she narrated, Disneynature’s Elephant.

Narrating the documentary, which follows a herd of elephants as they cross 1,000 miles of the Kalahari Desert in search of water, marks Markle’s first gig announced since leaving the U.K. “She was absolutely intrigued by the elephants and transfixed, especially by the female empowerment side,” filmmaker Vanessa Berlowitz told People on April 2. “It really is all about female leadership. It’s a different form of power—it’s about consensual leadership. It’s also very inclusive, as well—very contemporary.” Prince Harry even made an appearance in the recording studio.

In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, Markle and Prince Harry, who recently made the move to Los Angeles, have been volunteering with Project Angel Food, a Los Angeles organization that prepares and delivers healthy meals to those affected by COVID-19 and other serious ailments. Entertainment Tonight reports that the couple first volunteered on Easter Sunday and then delivered another 20 meals on Wednesday, April 15.

“They told us they heard our drivers were overloaded and wanted to volunteer to lighten the drivers’ workload,” Project Angel Food’s executive director Richard Ayoub said. The couple reportedly followed all social distancing guidelines, staying six feet away from others and wore masks and gloves. “I am blown away that they chose us. They care about our vulnerable population,” Ayoub said. “Our clients are most at risk to contract the coronavirus, having compromised immune systems including heart disease, lung disease, diabetes, and most are over the age of 60.”

No word yet on whether or not Markle will open up about her family’s choice to step back from life as senior royals, but we’ll definitely be tuning in to Good Morning America on Monday, April 20 at 7 a.m. EST.

Riverdale's Skeet Ulrich and Marisol Nichols Are Leaving the Show

At this point, Riverdale fans are used to the wild turns in the show’s plots. From demonic possessions to Archie’s turn in a prison fight club, the CW show is not afraid to get weird on the regular.

Now, another twist is coming by way of two season one cast members leaving the show at the end of the current fourth season. Skeet Ulrich, who plays Jughead’s dad F.P. Jones, and Marisol Nichols, who stars as Veronica’s mom Hermione Lodge, are both set to depart. In a statement to Deadline, Ulrich said, “I’m incredibly grateful for the friendships I’ve made on Riverdale, and I will miss seeing everyone on a daily basis. I’m proud to have been part of such a talented group of people, in front of the camera and behind. But I’ve decided that it’s time for me to move on to explore other creative opportunities.”

The actor also posted about his departure on Instagram. “I can’t even begin to thank you all for the unwavering support and love!! It is remarkable and deeply appreciated. I may be leaving Riverdale but my experience over the last four years will never leave my heart. A very special thanks to @writerras for giving me this opportunity ❤️”

“I had an incredible time bringing Hermione Lodge to life and working with my amazing cast, who became family,” Nichols said in a statement. “We had so many wonderful times together during the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. We really do have the best fans ever. I am looking forward to the next chapter and am excited about the future.”

“Okay, it’s official,” she wrote on Twitter. “Best fans ever. Been reading all ur tweets. Tku for the love & support. We’re still filming Riverdale till April so still more to come, and then 1 month till #spiral #saw movie comes out! Beyond excited. Nothing but ❤️ for all of u.?”

While it’s not yet clear how the characters will be written off, Riverdale‘s creator made it clear this is just how things go on the show. “Part of life in Riverdale—and part of growing up—is saying goodbye to people,” Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa told Deadline. “I’m grateful to Skeet and Marisol for their incredible work on the show these last four years, and we all wish them well on their future endeavors. FP and Hermione will never be far from our hearts. And, of course, they’re always welcome back in Riverdale.”

Riverdale has already been renewed for a fifth season.

Justin Chambers, a.k.a Alex Karev, Is Leaving Grey's Anatomy After 16 Seasons

Justin Chambers, the actor who has starred as Dr. Alex Karev in all 15 seasons of Grey’s Anatomy, is finally saying goodbye to the role.

The cause of his departure isn’t a [deep breath] train collision, ferryboat accident, shooting, psychiatric episode, homemade bomb, or unaddressed head trauma. No: Chambers, who has devoted the majority of his professional career to Grey’s, explained his decision in an announcement on Friday, January 10.

“There’s no good time to say goodbye to a show and character that’s defined so much of my life for the past 15 years,” Chambers told Deadline. “For some time now, however, I have hoped to diversify my acting roles and career choices. And, as I turn 50 and am blessed with my remarkable, supportive wife and five wonderful children, now is that time.”

Shock number one: Karev, who is arguably the second most central character on Grey’s—next to the eponymous Meredith Grey—will soon disappear from the show. Shock number two: Justin Chambers is 50? He has five kids? What moisturizer does he use?

In his announcement Chambers thanked show creator Shonda Rhimes and his fellow remaining original cast-members—Ellen Pompeo, Chandra Wilson and James Pickens—and the rest of the Grey’s team. It’s not clear from his statement whether he’ll be back for the rest of the 16th season, which returns to ABC on January 23. It is clear that we are sad. Very, very sad.

Grey’s Anatomy is a high-class soap opera—a glossy fantasy that delights in making us salivate over abs and weep until we’re nauseous within the same 40-minute block. The character of Alex Karev—the angry, sometimes cruel child of an addict father and schizophrenic mother, who grew up to be an exceptionally compassionate pediatric surgeon—is the best of that. In him, viewers have watched a person be redeemed. Albeit in the form of a conventionally hot, white man, we have joined a character on the odyssey of becoming a better person. We have seen him renounce sexism and violence and isolation.

For all his model looks and talent for making the word “frickin” sound organic, he’s been the ideal male sidekick to protagonist Meredith Grey (Pompeo) for 15 years. Their decades-long friendship, built on their mutual instinct for survival-at-all-costs, made them demand better from one another. Karev moved away from picking on people who were smaller than him and devoted himself to saving children’s lives. He became the ethical heart of the show. He stopped being angry, and started choosing love.

Lizzo Says She’s Leaving Twitter: ‘Too Many Trolls’

Lizzo is extremely committed to doing exactly what makes her feel good as hell, whether that’s twerking in a thong at a Lakers game or belting out her hits in front of a giant inflatable butt at the VMAs. But this attitude extends to her mental health and self-love journeys as well, and she’s been honest when she needs to take time to focus on herself and her feelings. This week she made an important decision to do exactly that by logging off Twitter for a while.

Her message to her fans was quick and to the point: “Yeah I can’t do this Twitter s**t no more.. too many trolls. I’ll be back when I feel like it.” She didn’t go into detail about what exactly prompted the decision, but CNN reports she’s been on the receiving end of abuse from trolls recently related to her weight. Even her tweet was met with a slew of disturbing and offensive responses.

Plenty of fans jumped to her defense and let her know she had their love and encouragement. “Please know for every troll, there are so many genuine fans here to show love and support,” one fan wrote. “We’ve got your back QUEEN! Hope you come back to us soon!”

The news comes just as Lizzo made history as the first solo female artist to headline Bonnaroo. Despite the trolls, the “Tempo” rapper keeps winning and making strides in her career, all the while working to change beauty norms in pop culture.

“Let’s just make space for these women,” she told Glamour last year. “Make space for me. Make space for this generation of artists who are really fearless in self-love. They’re out here. They want to be free. I think allowing that space to be made is really what’s going to shift the narrative in the future. Let’s stop talking about it and make more space for people who are about it.”
