Beyoncé and Jay Z Just Dropped a Surprise Album, So Naturally Twitter Is Losing It

Beyoncé and Jay Z dropped a surprise (though long-rumored) joint album together on Saturday night, June 16, ringing the alarm for the Beyhive to collectively lose its mind. As if that’s not exciting enough, there’s a new feature track and a corresponding music video—filmed at the freaking Louvre—to go with the album news. Called “Apes**t,” it’s a visual masterpiece. But what else did you expect from Bey?

And while Beyoncé had been posting cryptic images to Instagram all afternoon, leading some curious fans to think she might be dropping something, it’s safe to say no one expected Christmas to come this early—and definitely not in the form of a joint album with Jay Z. The couple are, after all, very busy on their current On the Run II tour. Still, in traditional Bey fashion, all was kept under wraps until the appointed date and time.

Of course, Twitter had a lot of reactions to share as news of the album dropped. Some people immediately canceled their Saturday plans, while others joked about finding ways to listen without signing up for Tidal. One user even made this point, “I don’t wanna listen to an album where some MAN keeps interrupting Beyoncé.”

Here are some of the best reactions:

Beyoncé and Jay Z Just Dropped a New Album, 'Everything Is Love'—and the First Music Video From It

Go ahead and cancel whatever Saturday plans you have because Beyoncé and Jay Z just went and dropped an album called Everything Is Love. Yes, the Carters have finally given us the one thing we’ve all been waiting for, oh, pretty much forever.

The album is only available on Tidal right now—you can listen to it here—but we do have some good news for those who aren’t subscribers: The Everything Is Love album announcement came with an incredible first single and music video that is available to watch on YouTube. Called “APESH**T,” the song features both Bey and Jay, and you’ll definitely be listening to it while you get ready tonight or stay in and Netflix—whatever your vibe. According to a press release, the video was directed by Ricky Saiz and shot on location at The Louvre in Paris this past May. (The Louvre!)

Beyoncé began dropping a few visual, comment-less hints that something was coming earlier today, which naturally got the attention of the Beyhive. Take a look:

That brings us to the video itself: Only the biggest power couple in music, could convince the Louvre to be all like, “Yeah, you can film here. No problem.” We didn’t know we needed to see Bey and Jay in front of the museum’s many galleries, incredible ceilings, palatial spaces, and “Winged Victory of Samothrice”—not to mention the freaking “Mona Lisa”—but here we are. It’s all so very incredible that we won’t take up any more of your time with words.

Just…behold:

Carrie Underwood Just Dropped the Powerful Music Video for 'Cry Pretty'

Carrie Underwood fans, rejoice: On Sunday night, the singer released the music video for her new single “Cry Pretty.” It’s the second clip she’s put out since injuring her face and wrists. The first one was “The Champions,” which featured vintage footage of Underwood interspersed with images of real-life champions. In “Cry Pretty,” however, Underwood is up front and center.

Cutting between the country star’s public and private lives, the “Cry Pretty” video shows Underwood alone at home crying in her shower and bedroom before going onstage to perform a triumphant rendition of the song in glitter tears. “You can pretty lie and say it’s okay / You can pretty smile and just walk away / Pretty much fake your way through anything / But you can’t cry pretty,” she sings in the video.

Underwood debuted the song in April before performing it at the 2018 ACM Awards—her first public performance since the aforementioned accident. During the awards, her performance garnered a standing ovation, and later on in the evening, she won Vocal Event of the Year with Keith Urban.

In December, Underwood revealed in a blog post to her fan club that she’d injured her wrist and severely cut her face during a fall outside her home, requiring surgery and “between 40 and 50 stitches” on her face.

“There is also another part of the story that I haven’t been ready to talk about since I have still been living it and there has been much uncertainty as to how things will end up,” she wrote in the post, per People. “It’s crazy how a freak random accident can change your life.”

She also made some promises to her fans in the post. “I am determined to make 2018 amazing and I want to share things with you along the way,” she wrote, per People. It looks like she’s doing that in spades.

Bella Hadid Just Dropped in on a Political Protest in a Red-Carpet-Worthy Gown

Typically, political protests aren’t really something you need to dress up for—it’s just important that you’re comfortable and warm. Of course, if you’re Bella Hadid, then it’s an entirely different story (see: when she dropped by a protest wearing a red-carpet-worthy gown and a fur-trimmed white coat).

It all happened on Friday, according to People, when the model headed to the opening of the Tag Heuer’s flagship store in London (she’s the face of the fancy watch line). She did her ambassador thing, peaced out, and then swung by a demonstration outside of the U.S. Embassy.

The demonstration was organized after President Donald Trump declared Jerusalem the capital of Israel. Those at the protest were holding up signs that said “Free Palestine”—a debate that Hadid has close ties to: Her dad, Mohamed Hadid, is of Palestinian origin.

Here is the outfit in question:

She posted on Instagram about the protest with an emotional caption summing up her feelings:

“?I’ve been waiting to put this into perfect words but I realized
there is no perfect way to speak of something so unjust. A very very
sad day.Watching the news and seeing the pain of the Palestinian
people makes me cry for the many many generations of Palestine. Seeing
the sadness of my father, cousins, and Palestinian family that are
feeling for our Palestinian ancestors makes this even harder to write.
Jerusalem is home of all religions. For this to happen, I feel, makes
us take 5 steps back making it harder to live in a world of peace. The
TREATMENT of the Palestinian people is unfair, one-sided and should
not be tolerated. I stand with Palestine. There is no hate against
anyone… There are no sides… All religions living side by side..
Now it is Just one man..it has always been a factor of trying to bring
peace… Where is the hope..?”

Taylor Swift Just Dropped Her 'Ready for It' Video, and It's Bananas

“Ready for It” has been instrumental in getting people on board with Taylor Swift’s new era. Let’s face it: Not everyone loves “Look What You Made Me Do.” It’s sonically strange and doesn’t offer much in terms of a chorus. “Ready for It,” however, is the total opposite. Yes, she raps on the song—which is regrettable—but it’s catchy, fun, and features some of her wittiest lyrics to date. (“But if he’s a ghost, then I can be a phantom”—I mean, come on.) It’s arguably the fan-favorite out of the three Reputation tunes released so far.

So naturally, the expectations for the music video were through the roof, and the tease Swift dropped earlier this week exceeded them all. From those 10 seconds, it seemed like Swift was dipping into “Bad Blood” waters again. The clip looked futuristic, badass, and downright terrifying at times. At one point, her eyes turned neon blue like she was some kind of robot. She also appeared to be naked in several frames—a detail that drove the Internet absolutely berserk.

And now that we’ve seen the video, we can confirm all these details are true. Yes, it’s a sibling of sorts to “Bad Blood.” Yes, she does play a freaky cyborg. And, yes, she’s kinda naked. For long stretches of time! Check it out for yourself, below:

The video is certainly Swift’s most ambitious and provocative yet. Then again, that’s exactly what the Reputation era’s all about: It’s boundary-pushing, defiant, emotional, and dizzying. Maybe the Old Taylor really is dead after all.

We only have a few more weeks before Reputation drops. Who’s ready for it? (Pun intended.)

Taylor Swift Just Dropped a Brand New Song Called 'Ready for It'

Well, well, Taylor Swift sure has been busy today. First, the pop singer made a “very sizable donation” to the Houston Food Bank to help with Hurricane Harvey relief. Then she made a rare public appearance in Martha’s Vineyard to serve as a bridesmaid for her high school best friend Abigail Anderson. And now, she just dropped the first minute of a brand new song, titled “Ready for It.” What a benevolent queen.

According to Just Jared, the snippet played during the pre-show intro of the college football game between Alabama and Florida State. Details about when the full song will be released and available for download aren’t available yet, but that one-minute clip has made its way online for your previewing pleasure.

Ready for it? (Hah, get it?) OK, enough dad jokes; listen here:

I’ll go ahead and say it: As much fun as I had deciphering the music video for “Look What You Made Me Do,” I’m already feeling “Ready for It” way more. “LWYMMD” pushed Taylor’s image and sound, yes, but we wanted a banger!

But now on to the important stuff: guessing who this song is about. According to Genuis, these are the lyrics. Let’s look for clues:

[Post-Chorus] Are you ready for it? So baby let the games begin The
games begin The games begin (Are you ready for it?) So baby let the
games begin The games begin The games begin (Are you ready for it?)
Are you ready for it?

[Bridge] Oh! I-I-I see how this is gonna go Touch me and you’ll never
be alone I-Island breeze, lights down low No one has to know

[Chorus] In the middle of the night In my dreams You should see the
things we do, baby (We do, baby) In the middle of the night In my
dreams (My dreams) I know I’m gonna be with you So I’ll take my time
In the middle of the night

[Post-Chorus] So baby let the good things begin The good things begin
The good things begin (Are you ready for it?) So baby let the good
things begin The good things begin The good things begin (Are you
ready for it?)

Some might guess Calvin Harris. Some may say Tom Hiddleston. But my money’s on her new boyfriend, Joe Alwyn, because it’s referencing “good things” beginning (not ending)—and, if the rumors are true, this new “thing” with Joe is very good indeed.
