Another Season of 'Gilmore Girls' Might Be Coming

We were all left hanging at the end of last year’s Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, when Rory Gilmore uttered the four words creator Amy Sherman-Palladino said she always knew would end the series: “Mom?” “Yeah?” “I’m pregnant.” And just like that, the credits rolled, and we were left clutching our wine glasses and tissue boxes, wondering what on earth we’d possibly do with our lives now. Since then, we’ve been begging for answers (who is the father?!) and also for more Gilmore Girls (we need closure!). Now, Sherman-Palladino has revealed that she has the freedom to make our wildest dreams come true—the rest of the cast just needs to get in on it.

In an interview with Radio Times published on Friday, the showrunner said that although she’s now signed in an overall deal with Amazon—leading some fans to panic that the now-Netflix-based series would definitely never happen—she negotiated a little space in her contract to go back to Stars Hollow.

“We carved out a little niche for ourselves with Amazon saying that if we ever want to do it, if the girls and us get together and we have a concept that works, then we have the freedom to do it,” Sherman-Palladino told Radio Times.

“So it would just have to be the right circumstances, and that we’re all sort of in the same drunken mood together to go repaint Stars Hollow again,” she continued. “Because we had to repaint Stars Hollow, and we’ll have to repaint it again. But it’s definitely possible.”

Apparently she’s still friends with a lot of people on the cast, according to the Radio Times—meaning that lines of communication are open. She still hangs out with Lauren Graham, who plays Lorelai, and Kelly Bishop, who plays matriarch Emily Gilmore—they got lunch last week—and she even still calls Alexis Bledel up for chats on the phone. Of course Graham and Bledel said in April they hadn’t been contacted about coming back—but I mean, what is with her social calendar if not a revival, right? Yeah.

According to what she told the Radio Times, working on the Netflix revival sounded way more fun than working on the original series. “During the series everything was so frantic, we had so much work to do and it was just constant; we never really got to rehearse a scene or talk about a scene or talk about stuff or just hang out and shoot the shit,” she said, adding that having the definite framework with the Netflix revival meant the cast could actually chat and hang out. “We got to have that time together as a mad theatre group and that was amazing.”

Who doesn’t want to have a ton of fun while keeping millions of devoted fans happy? And she couldn’t really leave us on that four-word cliffhanger, could she?

Could she?

New 'Outlander' Trailer Teases All the Sex and (Maybe) Deaths Coming This Season

The third season of Outlander has been a lot of things: dramatic, violent, intriguing. And, of course, it’s been sexy. Like, seriously sexy. Outlander is known for its mind-blowing sex scenes, but things between Claire and Jamie are (somehow) even hotter this season.

And the passion continues in the latter half of the season—as this new trailer reveals. It quite literally starts with Jamie passionately kissing Claire and saying, “You belong with me; we’re mated for life” in his signature, sultry cadence. These three seconds are my sexual orientation.

Season three, part two boasts more than just sex, of course. Young Ian’s life is in jeopardy, and Claire and Jamie have no idea where he is. The journey to find him will surely be bloody, thrilling, and (wince) possibly lethal. He could die, you guys! With this show, you can never really predict what happens.

Check out the new trailer for yourself, below:

[embedded content]

How are you feeling? Scared? Aroused? All of the above? Yup, same. Outlander is perhaps the only show on television capable of making you feel horny and shook at the same time.

Interestingly, Caitriona Balfe (who plays Claire) doesn’t really see Outlander as sex-centric as the rest of the world does. “It’s funny, because there’s probably less sex in our show than people think,” she told Glamour. “It’s just when we do it, we try to empower these two characters to represent this meta-physical and all-encompassing love, so we get branded as, ‘It’s so sexy!’ But if you look at the amount of episodes that it features in, it’s not in every single one.”

This is true, but let’s be honest: No one would complain about more sex on Outlander. Just a friendly tip for the writers’ room!

Samantha Bee Says She's Coming for Harvey Weinstein and the Other 'Creeps of Hollywood'

PHOTO: Gabriel Olsen/FilmMagic/Getty Images

Harvey Weinstein—as well as every other “Hollywood creep”—should consider himself on notice. Samantha Bee says she’s “coming for you.”

Since Full Frontal With Samantha Bee premiered in February 2016, Bee has emerged as a necessary voice in a late-night talk-show landscape still dominated by men. From her “Not the White House Correspondents’ Dinner” to just about every episode of Full Frontal, Bee’s earned a reputation for voicing opinions that her male counterparts just don’t seem willing or able to attack. This week, she went in on Harvey Weinstein’s alleged history of sexual harassment and abuse via a passionate monologue.

In the October 11 episode of Full Frontal, Bee went straight for the throat when it comes to men who abuse their positions of power, in Hollywood and elsewhere. “In case you didn’t realize, it has been a huge week for women,” she began her monologue sarcastically. “Starting last week, when America encountered this season’s second giant vortex of destructive moisture named Harvey.” Bee went on to tear into Weinstein’s apology statement, calling him “white Cosby,” and issuing a strong warning statement:

“Listen up, creeps of Hollywood. We know who you are. Weinstein isn’t
the only cool Democrat lurking in film-festival hotels waiting to play
a jolly masturbation prank. Women talk to each other. And we talk to
journalists. And we talk to lawyers. It’s 2017, we don’t have to put
up with this shit. We are coming for you. Talk to every woman you work
with like she has The New York Times on speed dial. Well, I guess it
took the Times a little while to take care of business—OK, talk
to every woman like she has me on speed dial. My show is only once a
week. I’ve got some free time.”

Kate Spade's Iconic Sam Bag is Coming Back in Spring 2018

It’s official: Everyone’s first Kate Spade New York bag is back in style. At the brand’s Spring 2018 presentation during New York Fashion Week, Chief Creative Officer Deborah Lloyd revealed that the iconic Sam tote—yes, that boxy, nylon handbag you swung around with such glee back in the day—will make a triumphant return, just in time for the company’s 25th anniversary.

At this point, we’re pretty used to seeing nostalgic trends crop up on the Fashion Week runways, but the return of the Sam bag is one worthy of our collective excitement: This black, waterproof tote put Kate Spade New York on the map when it first appeared in the early ’90s. And though it’s been off the brand’s shelves for a while now, shoppers freak out every time the style pops up on the resale market. (While Nordstrom seems to have left their sale page up, the Sam hasn’t been sold as-new in years.)

Lloyd knows how attached we all were to our first Kate Spade New York handbag—and how eager brand loyalists are for the Sam’s comeback. “I think that bag started Kate Spade 25 years ago, but it’s still relevant today,” she tells Glamour backstage at the Spring 2018 presentation in New York “So many people that speak to you about that bag say, ‘Oh my goodness, it was my first bag!’ It became one of the first it bags.” She says that customers “are always wanting to see the Sam back [again].”

In the designer’s mind, the Sam bag falls among the Kate Spade New York classics—”something that a girl goes back to again and again,” she explains. “It really is her go-to piece that she can trust, that will get her through the day. So whether it is the perfect dress from Kate Spade, whether it’s a pair of shoes, whether it is that Sam bag, it’s her trusty companion that makes her feel good about herself.”

But the 2018 version of the Sam won’t look exactly like the one you wore to bits in middle school: Lloyd promises that there are plenty of modern updates to the classic, including new materials like leather, wicker, and all sorts of embroidery. “With fashion, everything needs a little bit of an evolution, because what you pick up [from] 25 years ago doesn’t always look right,” she jokes of the O.G. Sam. “So there was a little bit of an evolution in how we manufactured it. But basically, we have the classic Sam in the black nylon come back with a new logo treatment, which is loud and proud! [And] we have played with it as our palette to express the year.”

Of course, any Sam needs a full look to pair it with—so Lloyd says there’s plenty of exciting ready-to-wear alongside the beloved tote in Kate Spade New York’s latest collection. The look to cop? Flora and fauna prints and bold colors inspired by a road trip around the United States—starting in New Orleans. “I love the spirit of this collection, which is based on New Orleans and Southern charm,” Lloyd says. “We’re an American brand at heart, so it’s really nice to celebrate America and the American girl, for this 25th anniversary.” (To get into the theme, a New Orleans brass band ushered in the Spring 2018 models, and guests snacked on beignets and coffee at the presentation.)

While we can’t get our hands on the newest Sam bag iteration just yet (think of all the #TBT photo opportunities!), there are plenty of gorgeous photos from Kate Spade New York’s Spring 2018 presentation to obsess over until then. And when they’re finally on the market, they’ll go quick—so get ready.
