Renée Rouleau Triple Berry Smoothing Peel Review

The peel contains five acids to exfoliate—mandelic, lactic, salicylic, tartaric, and malic—as well as three different berries to provide antioxidants and soothe your skin. It’s a professional-grade peel (meaning it’s definitely not an everyday thing), and has a mix of BHAs and AHAs to work on two levels to clear pores and smooth your skin’s surface. The laundry list of concerns the brand says it’ll help with include: clearing blemishes and clogged pores, fading post-breakout marks, lifting discoloration, stimulating cellular renewal, smoothing out the texture of your skin.

I’ve been consistency using the mask for about a month (once a week), and I have to say, I’m really impressed. After one use I wasn’t convinced, but after four weeks (two of which were spent traveling to extremely different climates), I’m a believer. Not only does it not aggravate my skin, but I’ve seen a major improvement. While it hasn’t helped with my larger inflamed breakouts, I’ve seen a significant reduction of clogged pores and whiteheads that I’ve been dealing with on my cheeks over time. I like to follow it with Rouleau’s Rapid Response Detox Mask to further fight breakouts while my pores are open from the peel. It’s also helped keep flakes at bay, which is something I always struggle with this time of year, and makes my skin feel smooth as hell.

And then there’s the glow. As someone who has a pretty negative relationship with my skin, I don’t toss around words like “radiant” often, but the day or two after I use this mask, my skin can only be described as such. I look well-rested for once in my life, my skin texture feels much more uniform, and my makeup goes on smoother. The best part is that despite all the different types of acids, it’s not harsh on my sensitive skin. There’s a slight tingle when the mask is on, but as soon as I rinse it off after about seven minutes there’s no stinging or redness.

Not only can I thank this mask for bringing my skin back to life, it’s also restored my faith that sometimes things are worth the hype. You might just need to give them time.

Kate Middleton and Mary Berry Are Joining Forces for a Holiday Cooking Show

Our two favorite British worlds are colliding soon!

In the purest news of the day, the Sun reports that Kate Middleton and Mary Berry will appear together on a holiday special. The Duchess of Cambridge and The Great British Bake Off’s beloved judge alumna will join forces for a BBC1 seasonal special, in which they’ll work together to make a Christmas feast for charity workers.

The program is reportedly being called “The Mary Berry Royal Christmas Show.” Middleton and Berry apparently have already bonded over their shared love of charity work, and the show will put their friendship on TV for an important meal. The Mirror suggests that the feast might be hosted at “royal venue,” and that Berry will be in charge of the food, while Middleton will help out. “They will bring seasonal goodwill to their guests and to the millions of viewers watching. Expect a properly uplifting Christmas treat,” the Mirror‘s source added. There’s no premiere date quite yet so fans will just have to keep an eye out.

Middleton seems to be more comfortable with TV and film projects these days; back in September, sources said she took a meeting with Love Actually director Richard Curtis to discuss a potential collaboration on something involving mental health. It’s still not totally clear what they’re cooking up, but it all seems to reinforce the idea that Middleton has been taking charge more, doing things she likes, and focusing on causes that are important to her. A People story pointed out that in addition to confidently steering work on parenthood and child development, she’s allegedly writing her own speeches and showing more of her personality while meeting with U.K. organizers. Even the Queen is said to be quite proud of her lately!

“She is now more open with what she wants to say, and funnily enough, she is more relaxed as well,” a family source told People. It looks like this TV moment with Mary Berry is going to offer another chance for Middleton to get personal—and a delightful opportunity for all of us to see this adorable friendship keep unfolding.

Halle Berry on the 'Catwoman' Failure: ‘I Got a Shit Load of Money That Changed My Life’

Actress Halle Berry spoke out on Monday about her role as Catwoman in the 2003 movie of the same name that wound up being—and there’s no way around this—a box-office bomb. For Berry, coming off of 2002’s Oscar-winning performance in Monster’s Ball, it could have put a stop to her Hollywood dreams. As it turns out, though, Berry has zero regrets about taking the movie on: For her, the movie taught her a valuable lesson about listening to her intuition—and, well, it also made her a ton of money.

She accepted the Matrix Award from New York Women in Communication Monday evening and opened up about Catwoman in her acceptance speech.

“Everybody around me said, ‘Girl, don’t do it. It’s going to be the death of you. It’s going to end your career.’ But guess what I did? I followed my intuition and I did a movie called Catwoman and it bombed miserably,” Berry said. “While it failed to most people, it wasn’t a failure for me because I met so many interesting people that I wouldn’t have met otherwise, I learned two forms of martial arts and I learned not what to do.”

She also added that she made “a shit-load of money that changed my life.”

And then Berry dropped some incredible advice on the audience: “I say that to say, Following your intuition doesn’t always mean you’re going to be successful or win the prize, but it means you’re always going to learn the exact lesson or get the exact accolades or the exact check that you’re supposed to get for yourself. Never compare that to anyone else.”

Halle Berry Speaks Up About Sexual Misconduct Accusations Against Her Former Manager Vincent Cirrincione

News broke on Friday that Halle Berry’s former manager and Taraji P. Henson’s current manager, Vincent Cirrincione, has been accused of sexual misconduct by nine women in a story published by The Washington Post. Berry, who ended her business relationship with Cirrincione three years ago after hearing rumors of sexual misconduct, opened up about her anger on Friday night.

Cirrincione had become known for helping women of color break into the entertainment industry after he helped raise Berry to stardom. But when eight African American women and one Asian American woman sought his representation, they allege he met them with sexually inappropriate behavior. According to The Washington Post, he allegedly asked some women for sex as a condition for working with them and when they refused, he would not take them on. One woman alleges he masturbated in front of her during the time he managed her.

“Yesterday I was saddened by the allegations against my former manager, Vincent Cirrincione, but today I’m sick after reading the horrifying detailed accounts of his abuse towards 9 women,” the actress said in an Instagram post.

“I’m livid that used me, and the role model he helped me become, to lure and manipulate innocent, vulnerable women of color for his predatory actions. I’m deeply hurt and I want these woman and countless others to know I see you. I hear you. You matter. I will fight for you,” she said.

This message comes after a statement that Berry issued earlier in the day, saying, “Over three years ago, a woman was on the radio saying that Halle Berry’s manager was her worst casting couch experience ever. That news literally stopped me in my tracks. I immediately confronted Vince about it, and he denied it completely,” she said. “But even with his denial, something didn’t feel right in my spirit, and with the possibility that it could be true, I immediately ended our over-25-year relationship.”

Berry, who has been a supporter for the Women’s March and Times Up Movement, said that while she never had any inappropriate experiences with Cirrincione, she has a “no tolerance policy” when it comes to allegations of misconduct.

Henson, however, said she never heard any kind of accusations. “I’ve never had any issue with this on any level,” she told The Washington Post. “He totally respected me.”

Cirrincione admitted to having affairs during his career, but maintains that they were all consensual and that he did not ask for sexual favors in return for representation.
