This Six-Pack Summer Bag Might Be the Accessory of the Season

Summers as an adult may not be as completely carefree as those we had as kids—we still have to go to our jobs, pay bills, and so on—but they still give us all a chance to cut loose and play more than usual. That’s true of our schedule as well as of our fashion and beauty choices. It’s a time to try out a new manicure (perhaps something fun for 4th of July?) or an accessory that is both on-trend and functional. And lucky for us, Ruffino created a summer bag that checks all of those boxes.

The wine company partnered with Brooklyn-based indie designer Stickybaby on a clear plastic tote—like those you see all over Instagram—except cleverly designed to safely carry six mini bottles of prosecco.

The bag has removable inserts that create space to hold mini bottles of Ruffino Prosecco. And it’s waterproof, so you can keep your bubbly on ice as you head to the beach or a brunch picnic with your best friends.

The Ruffino x Stickybaby bag is available for pre-order on ReserveBar—though, it’s only available to ship to California, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Nevada, New York at the moment. It’s $100, and comes complete with six bottles of prosecco for you to drink.

This collaboration joins Target’s wine fanny pack as the latest booze-meets-fashion innovation for summer 2019. What’s next—a fascinator that dispenses champagne? We’d give anything to see Meghan Markle or Kate Middleton wear one of those to a fancy garden party.

The Coolest Hair Accessory Ideas for Spring 2019

Two of the biggest trends in fashion right now couldn’t be more disparate. On one hand you have powerful congresswoman co-opting the suit look from the boys, wearing all white pantsuits to events like the State of the Union as a symbolic testament to the suffrage movement, and on the other you also have powerful everyday women wearing as many pearl hairpins along their hairline as humanly possible. And although the prevalence of girlish hair accessories isn’t nearly as symbolic as something like a white pantsuit, there’s something about it that feels equally as perverse. Why leave all the fun extra feminine hair poufs and headbands for little girls? Strong women can wear bows! And say what you will about Blair Waldorf but she was a badass bitch who didn’t let a headband downplay her tough exterior.

It’s hard to pinpoint when exactly hair accessories started trending, but they’ve been having a renaissance for about the past year or so. It started innocently with some scrunchies from Mansur Gavriel and quickly escalated with a $400 crystal Gucci hair clip that took over Instagram. It wasn’t long until everyone started realizing they didn’t need to spend hundreds to adorn their ponytail. Barrettes, scrunchies, and headbands were after all an essential part of every middle schooler’s wardrobe. But if you didn’t happen to hold onto all your old butterfly clips, don’t despair, there are literally hundreds of options online now from handmade hair clips on Etsy to a more luxurious Simone Rocha pearled bow. Shop all the best hair accessory ideas for spring below.

How a Larger-Than-Life Sunhat Became Summer's Must-Have Accessory

When celebrities and influencers start wearing A Thing en masse—be it teeny-tiny sunglasses or an exercise dress—we’ll eventually feel compelled to buy it. It doesn’t matter how unusual (or downright extra) it may appear at first: the Instagram endorsement is powerful. And for summer 2018, there’s already a frontrunner for It Item of the Season, as seen on everyone from Tracee Ellis Ross and Emily Ratajkowski to any influencer vacationing in Italy or Greece right now. And it’s pretty unmissable.

There’s a particular kind of oversized straw hat—so massive, it’s nearly unwearable—that’s trending. Designer Simon Porte Jacquemus and his “La Bomba” Spring 2018 collection is partly responsible, with its gigantic shoulder-grazing headgear that defied gravity (and practicality) and evoked the luxurious feel of a beachside vacation. Pretty much as soon as it hit retail, that hat—and others like it—started showing up everywhere off the runway: On vacations, in backyards, at a very luxurious wedding… Mexican label Olmos & Flores has an equally enormous, frayed-trim style that Bella Hadid donned for a recent beachside shoot.

Even if requires two hands to hold upright, this kind of oversized hat is not only guaranteed to provide shade (thanks to its umbrella-like shape), it’s also a look-at-me, literally-can’t-miss-it status symbol. The craze-starting Jacquemus hat is largely sold out across the Internet—a testament to its double-tap attracting power—but there are plenty of extra-large sun hats at a far more accessible price that will scratch that itch. So if you’re looking to turn your vacation into a lifestyle, check out the headwear in the gallery ahead.

Time's Up Pin Is the Accessory Everyone Will Be Wearing at the Golden Globes

On Monday, more than 300 women in the entertainment industry, including actresses, producers, agents and lawyers, came together to announce a new sexual harassment action plan known as Time’s Up, with a goal to end the imbalance of gender power across all industries.

In an open letter about the initiative, the women not only announced a legal defense fund and push for new legislation as part of this initiative, but also confirmed reports that many actors and actresses planned to wear all black to this Sunday’s Golden Globes in solidarity with survivors of sexual harassment. And it looks like this protest will be even more visible on the red carpet than previously thought: According to the Hollywood Reporter, participants will also be wearing a specially-designed pin meant to draw further attention to the cause.

Whereas last awards season, many attendees pinned blue ACLU ribbons to their red carpet looks, you can expect to see many black and white pins that read “Time’s Up” this time around. They were designed by famed costume designer Arianne Phillips and commissioned by Reese Witherspoon, one of the initiative’s lead backers and a 2018 Golden Globe nominee, according to the Hollywood Reporter. “Reese asked me to come to the actor’s group [at a planning session for Time’s Up], and told me they were going to be wearing black and would I consider creating a pin for the nominees and male presenters,” Phillips told the publication. “We were up against the holidays, but I said I could do it, and the first person I called was my partner-in-crime [L.A. jewelry designer] Michael Schmidt.”

Booth Moore, Hollywood Reporter‘s Style and Fashion News Director, posted a photo of the pins on Instagram.

Phillips and Schmidt somehow managed to quickly turn around a design and produce 500 pins just in time for the Golden Globes. “I met so many great women, and it was such an honor to be called to action,” Phillips added.

In the New York Times piece announcing Time’s Up, Eva Longoria said of the red carpet blackout: “For years, we’ve sold these awards shows as women, with our gowns and colors and our beautiful faces and our glamour. This time the industry can’t expect us to go up and twirl around. That’s not what this moment is about.”

While Phillips is asking her fellow designers to donate to the Time’s Up legal defense fund, you can too by simply visiting their GoFundMe page here.

Could Next Season's Best Accessory Be Found at the Party Store?

PHOTO: Getty Images/ANGELA WEISS

At this point, we’re not unused to seeing household knick-knacks be turned into It items by designers during Fashion Month. In London, Christopher Kane incorporated zip ties into his Spring 2016 collection, and Fyodor Golan decorated a see-through blouse with Post-It notes for Fall 2017. Now, at New York Fashion Week, Alexander Wang has found new use for all those novelty headbands you’ve accumulated over many New Year’s Eve parties but don’t know whether you should throw out or keep as a memento: just wear it out, with the confidence of a member of the #Wangsquad.

On Saturday night, models like Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner, and Binx Walton walked the street-turned-runway at Wang’s three guerrilla-style shows across downtown Manhattan and Brooklyn wearing feathery, tinseled headbands that look a whole lot like the ones sold in value packs every December 31. The only difference? They swapped the holiday-oriented slogans on the ‘bands for cheeky sayings like “Wangover,” “Party Animal,” “Secret Location,” and “After After Party.”

The headbands and slogans on them all fed into the designer’s theme for his Bushwick afterparty (the legendary #Wangfest—just look up the hashtag), which was set up like a music festival. Models were transported to and from the various runway locations via party bus, until finally walking down the Brooklyn street catwalk and into the after-party. Once inside, they were treated to a “lineup” of performances by ASAP Ferg, Cardi B, Ashanti, and Ja Rule, with several DJ sets in between.

But there was one vibe we were definitely picking up: what the models wore on the “runways”—a lot of ripped shoulders and bodices, disheveled blouses and dresses, and slips with stockings—plus the addition of the headbands and the festival-esque afterparty all felt like the tail end of a big night out like New Year’s Eve.

We get that big statement headbands aren’t necessarily the most wearable trend. But hey, crazier looks—think denim shorts with the ankles still attached—have been worn IRL, so why not a party headband?
