This Story About Baby Archie Fixing the Royal 'Feud' Is Cracking Me Up

Baby Archie only arrived last week, but he’s already been tasked, reportedly, with something big: fixing the so-called “feud” between Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, Kate Middleton, and Prince William.

I just…I have a lot of feelings about this. On the one hand, sure: New babies coming into a family are known to ease tensions or rifts. There’s simply no time to be passive aggressive toward your annoying brother-in-law from Texas when there’s a screaming child in the house. But on the other: LOL, what? Baby Archie has only been on this planet for 11 days. He shouldn’t have to bother himself with his famous family’s problems. All he needs to be worrying about at the present moment is napping.

According to People magazine, Baby Archie gives Prince William and Prince Harry, who have allegedly grown apart over the last few years, an opportunity to reconnect.

“William and Harry will want their children to know their cousins and do things together, so they will work harder at their relationship,” a source close to the royal family tells People. “The brothers will have a different kind of relationship and move on.”

Look, I get it: If a feud does exist—and that’s a big if—then Baby Archie probably will help the two princes put their differences aside. But now all I’m picturing is Archie wearing a three-piece suit and playing couple’s therapist to his father and uncle. In my mind, they’ll all meet in Archie’s vegan paint-colored nursery and hash out their issues. Archie will have to take naps every two minutes, of course, because he’s a literal baby. And his counseling rate would be $500 an hour, at minimum.

I kid, I kid. Archie’s arrival is obviously cause for celebration and an opportunity to mend any fences within the royal core four. Keep in mind, though, that a feud might not even exist. Royals expert Katie Nicholl told Glamour a few months back that any stories of drama between either William and Harry or Kate and Meghan are grossly exaggerated.

“I think this idea of there being a catfight between [Meghan and Kate] has made tantalizing headlines, but I don’t believe that,” she said. “I’ve never heard from my sources that there has ever been a feud or a falling-out. I had heard about an upset over the dress fitting for Princess Charlotte. And I had heard that while Harry was very keen for the two of them to become best friends, there was never that sort of a friendship.”

She continued, “I think there is some truth to there having been some tension—not just between the duchesses but between the dukes, as well. As we all know, things can gather momentum pretty quickly. So while I think there’s been tension, I don’t believe there has been some feud.”

For what it’s worth, a source tells People that despite all the changes happening in the royal family (like the core four splitting offices), “There is never any doubt that [Harry and William] will be there for each other 100 percent and support each other when it matters.”

A Royals Expert Told Us the Real Story Behind Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton's 'Feud'

Rumors of a “feud” between Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton have been brewing for months. Granted, Kensington Palace shut them down in December with a rare statement, but little tidbits keep coming out suggesting there’s at least tension between the duchesses. There was that story in November about Middleton reportedly leaving Princess Charlotte’s dress fitting for Markle’s wedding “in tears.” The chatter is so incessant, in fact, that TLC released a full documentary last month outlining Markle and Middleton’s relationship.

So what is the truth? Is there really a feud, or is this all rubbish? The answer, according to royals expert Katie Nicholl, lies somewhere in the middle. “I think this idea of there being a catfight between the two duchesses has made tantalizing headlines, but I don’t think believe that,” Nicholl, a royals correspondent for Vanity Fair and The Daily Mail, tells Glamour. “I’ve never heard from my sources that there has ever been a feud or a falling out. I had heard about an upset over the dress fitting for Princess Charlotte. And I had heard that while Harry was very keen for the two of them to become best friends, there was never that sort of a friendship.”

She continues, “They quite quickly realized they were two pretty mature women—quite different women—and really the only thing they had in common was they’d married princes. Not just Prince Harry, I think probably the world wanted them to become best friends.”

These rumors originated somewhere, though, and Nicholl says there’s never smoke without fire. “I do think there is some truth to there having been some tension—not just between the duchesses but between the dukes, as well,” she explains. “As we all know, things can gather momentum pretty quickly. So while I think there’s been tension, I don’t believe there has been some feud.”

That being said, it’s Nicholl’s understanding Markle and Middleton mutually decided at some point to put on a united front. “I do know that Meghan and Kate have come to an agreement to get along, to make an effort, to be amiable and warm towards each other in public,” she says. “They both realize it’s in neither of their interests to have these catfight headlines. It’s not what either of them want.”

It’s unclear if the duchesses reached this resolution after having a one-on-one conversation. They have, of course, hung out solo in the past, but when that last happened is a mystery. “I know in the early days, Kate invited Meghan over to apartment 1A for tea,” Nicholl says. “Obviously, she took her on that high-profile trip to Wimbledon, so they have spent time together. But what I think hasn’t happened is—they haven’t become best friends out of all of it. That’s not to say they hate each other. I don’t believe that to be the case at all.”

There you have it, people. It seems like Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton are just your standard sisters-in-law: not besties, but not enemies, either.

Priyanka Chopra Finally Addressed Those Meghan Markle 'Feud' Rumors

Another day, another alleged “feud” rumor between two famous women put to rest. Due to the fact Meghan Markle missed her friend Priyanka Chopra‘s wedding, and then Chopra didn’t attend Markle’s baby shower, rumors started swirling there was a rift between the two.

“Their friendship is over unless Meghan apologizes,” a source told Page Six in February. “Priyanka is a huge international star with a tremendous social media following. She is probably more famous worldwide than Meghan is. She feels Meghan didn’t respect her, and didn’t respect their friendship.” But then another source told E!, “All the rumors that Priyanka and Meghan aren’t friends anymore are totally not true. Priyanka and Meghan are still very close friends and they talk frequently. Meghan confides in Priyanka about the adjustments she has to make with being a royal.”

It’s no surprise the truth is more in line with that second quote. Chopra confirmed as much during her recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live, where she was asked about her relationship with the Duchess of Sussex. “Are the rumors true that you were upset that Meghan Markle skipped your wedding to Nick Jonas?” a caller asked. Host Andy Cohen added, “They said you didn’t go to her baby shower because you were pissed at her.” Chopra laughed and answered definitively, “Oh my God, no. It’s not true.”

Watch for yourself, below:

Another woman Chopra has no problems with? Miley Cyrus, who also happens to be an ex of her husband, Nick Jonas. Some people thought Chopra recently threw shade at Cyrus on Instagram, but of course this also isn’t true. In fact, the Quantico actress thinks she and Jonas should double date with Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth, whom she co-starred with in Isn’t It Romantic. “We [Chopra and Hemsworth] actually talked about that—doing a double date at some point,” she said, adding that the foursome would be a “fun group to go out with.”

So there you have it. No drama, no feuds—just very famous, very hot people living their lives.

Here's the Truth Behind That Meghan Markle-Priyanka Chopra 'Feud'

Last month, rumors popped up that longtime friends Meghan Markle and Priyanka Chopra were in a “feud.” According to Page Six, their relationship was “on the rocks” because the pregnant Duchess of Sussex skipped Chopra’s wedding to Nick Jonas in India. So, in return, Chopra reportedly opted out of Markle’s New York City baby shower. We called B.S. on that story and still stand by our opinion.

Now, a new source is telling E! News the two women are 100 percent fine. “All the rumors that Priyanka and Meghan aren’t friends anymore are totally not true,” the source says. “Priyanka and Meghan are still very close friends and they talk frequently. Meghan confides in Priyanka about the adjustments she has to make with being a royal.”

“Just because Priyanka didn’t go to the shower, or that Meghan couldn’t come to her wedding(s), doesn’t mean anything about their friendship,” the source continues. “They’re still very close friends and Meghan considers Priyanka one of her closest confidants.”

Considering the way Chopra has talked about Markle in the past, this makes makes sense. “This ever-smiling, strong free spirit found her prince, fell in love and in turn made a cynical world believe in fairy tales again,” Chopra wrote about the now-duchess for Time‘s 100 Most Influential People issue in April 2018. “But more than anything else, Meghan is an important influencer in a world that needs strong public figures to respect and look up to.” Last summer, Chopra said Markle was doing “amazing” in her new royal life, and it was rumored she and Nick Jonas stayed with the Sussexes at their Cotswolds country home.

And there you have it, folks: nothing to see here except two very busy women who, unfortunately, couldn’t make their schedules line up. That’s not a feud. That’s adulthood—mundane, normal adulthood.

The Latest Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton 'Feud' Rumor Doesn't Even Make Sense

If I had to guess, I’d say Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton probably have the same relationship you’d share with a sister-in-law. You’re not best friends—because you have separate lives—but you’ll happily bond at Thanksgiving over the Netflix show you’re both binge-ing or look at photos of her kids. (Especially if they have hilarious Instagram fan accounts.)

The rumor mill, however, has been working overtime to create some type of feud between the Duchess of Sussex and the Duchess of Cambridge. Never mind that Kensington Palace released a statement denying any ill will between the women. If a random website says Kate left a bridesmaids dress fitting for Meghan’s wedding “in tears,” then it’s obviously true, right?

And the stories keep getting more and more wild—so much so that the latest one doesn’t even make sense. According to Us Weekly, Kate and Meghan had a chat on Christmas Day where they aired out their grievances. Can we confirm or deny that? No, but what comes after this has me like…???

“Kate opened up about feeling like Meghan had used her to climb the royal ladder,” a source reveals to Us Weekly.

Sorry, but I’m confused: Was Kate the one flying to Toronto every few weeks to visit Meghan on the set of Suits? Was it over a roasted chicken Meghan made that Kate decided to propose? Did Kate put on a really convincing ginger beard and wig for her royal wedding to Meghan?

No, really: How did Meghan use Kate to climb the social ladder? Meghan dated Prince Harry. She got engaged to Prince Harry. She married Prince Harry. The closest I’ve ever been to London is listening to Rita Ora’s album, Phoenix, but I have a feeling marrying Prince Harry is a pretty quick way to jump rank with the royals. No help from Kate is required.

And this is all assuming Meghan is trying to social climb, which she probably isn’t. Have you seen the way she looks at Prince Harry? That’s true love. She held an umbrella for him one time, for goodness sake. Do you know what that means? It means, “I love you even though the only throne in your future is Game of Thrones season eight.”

Can we just let Kate and Meghan go back to making idle chat about the weather in peace? It’s what we all deserve in 2019.

Breaking Down All the Rumors About Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton's Royal 'Feud'

Chatter about Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton’s supposed feud has reached a fever pitch. Just yesterday we debunked a report from the New Zealand Herald that alleged Middleton and Markle didn’t “really get on.” Well, it was actually the Daily Mail that did the debunking with its report claiming there’s no drama between the two duchesses. Richard Palmer, a royals reporter, later corroborated this, tweeting that Markle and Prince Harry’s imminent move to Windsor wasn’t inspired by a “big fallout” between her and Middleton—as speculated—but rather the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s looking to spread their wings.

But the drama isn’t over. New rumors are bubbling up that add fuel to the “Kate and Meghan don’t get along” fire. It’s a frustrating, confusing narrative, so we’re breaking down the new reports that are raising eyebrows. Take them all with a grain of salt.

Kate Middleton “in tears.” This comes from a story by The Daily Telegraph‘s Camilla Tominey, who was told by two sources that “Kate was left in tears following a bridesmaids dress fitting for Princess Charlotte” leading up to Markle’s May wedding. However, TDG never says why Middleton cried—just that she was “emotional” and had “just given birth to Prince Louis.” So it’s possible something or someone else besides Markle was responsible for these tears, if they even happened.

It’s the brothers who actually aren’t getting along. In one fell swoop, this report squashes any inclination that Markle and Middleton aren’t friendly and puts the focus solely on Prince William and Prince Harry. Katie Nicholl from Vanity Fair has this scoop. “Kate and Meghan are very different people and they don’t have a lot in common, but they have made an effort to get along,” a source tells VF. “Any issues are between the brothers.” Nicholl reports that the two brothers are “moving in different directions” and that Prince Harry wants to begin new royal duties with Markle that are separate from his brother and Middleton. “He wants to be his own person not in William’s shadow,” says a source. “The countryside works for him and Meghan because they want to raise their son or daughter away from the limelight.”

PHOTO: Getty Images

Meghan-related tensions between the brother reportedly date back to last December, according to Vanity Fair, when Prince Harry thought Prince William wasn’t being as welcoming to his then fiancée as he could’ve been. “Harry felt William wasn’t rolling out the red carpet for Meghan and told him so,” a source tells VF. “They had a bit of a fallout, which was only resolved when Charles stepped in and asked William to make an effort. That’s when the Cambridges invited the Sussexes to spend Christmas with them.”

Read my body language. There’s a report from the Daily and Sunday Express breaking down all the ways the body language of Markle and Middleton are hinting at their strained relationship. An expert named Judi James says the physical space between Markle and Middleton at Wimbledon (see below) could suggest “distance” between them. However, James essentially refutes this by saying that Wimbledon marked Middleton and Markle’s first display of “open closeness and friendship.” So…what the hell is even going on?

The answer to that is most likely “nothing.” The rumors suggesting tension between Markle and Middleton are either vague as hell or have perfectly logical rebuttals. This all appears to be smoke and mirrors for the boring truth: that Middleton and Markle are your standard sisters-in-law. They may not be best friends, but there’s no huge feud at play. Also, Markle and Prince Harry are probably moving because they want a bigger backyard. There’s nothing to see here, except four pretty royals.
