Meghan Markle Went to See 'Hamilton' in a Stunning Tuxedo Dress

Meghan Markle‘s take on royal style has been full of surprises—from her love of bateau necklines to her choice of bridal designer. And she’s still keeping us on our toes.

To attend a special charity performance of the musical Hamilton on Wednesday, the Duchess of Sussex wore a stunning black tuxedo mini dress by Canadian brand Judith and Charles.

Sentebale, the organization being supported by the event (which was cofounded by Prince Harry), tweeted a picture of the royal couple arriving at London’s Victoria Palace theatre.

Markle is wearing the label’s so-called Digital Dress, which is currently available for purchase on Judith & Charles’s website (though probably not for long) for $595.

The cocktail-style tuxedo dress is a departure from the conservative sheath dresses we’ve seen Markle wear since the royal wedding. Choosing a Canadian designer for a special event is a classic Markle move, though—she wore a coat by Line the Label for her royal engagement photos and a Wilfred dress to last year’s Invictus Games.

Tuxedo and blazer dresses aren’t a new phenomenon: Similar styles have made the rounds on the red carpet in recent memory, from Kylie Jenner’s Tom Ford dress at the VMAs to Reese Witherspoon’s Stella McCartney outfit at the 2017 Emmys. With the Markle Sparkle, though, don’t be surprised if it sees another resurgence.

By the way, Markle is allegedly a huge Hamilton fan: Per People, she’s already seen it twice—once on a date with Prince Harry in February, and earlier with pal Priyanka Chopra.

Meghan Markle's Reception Dress Is a Stunning Stella McCartney Creation

It wouldn’t be a royal wedding without a bridal outfit change, now would it?

You might remember how, when she married Prince William back in 2011, Kate Middleton swapped her Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen ceremony gown for a more streamlined (but no less breathtaking) dress by the same designer to wear to the reception at Buckingham Palace. Meghan Markle took a page out of her new sister-in-law’s playbook and debuted a second bridal ensemble on her way to the more intimate gathering to celebrate her wedding to Prince Harry at Frogmore House this evening.

Obsessed with the Royals? Same. Click here to get Meghan Markle updates—and more—from Glamour’s daily newsletter.

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex depart Windsor Castle for a reception hosted by The Prince of Wales at Frogmore House, in a silver blue Jaguar E-Type Concept Zero. This vehicle was originally manufactured in 1968, and has since been converted to electric power,” the palace shared in a tweet, alongside a video giving the world its first glimpse of Meghan’s second dress, which is a halterneck Stella McCartney creation.

Of the second dress, Kensington Palace shared in a statement, “The Bride’s evening dress is designed by Stella McCartney and is a bespoke lily white high neck gown made of silk crepe. The Bride is wearing shoes from Aquazurra made in silky satin, with nude mesh, with soles painted in baby blue.”

Of course, we still can’t forget Meghan’s Givenchy Haute Couture ceremony gown. Of the ceremony dress, designer Clare Waight Keller said: “We wanted to create a timeless piece that would emphasize the iconic codes of Givenchy throughout its history, as well as convey modernity through sleek lines and sharp cuts. In contrast, the delicate floral beauty of the veil was a vision Meghan and I shared, a special gesture embracing the commonwealth flora, ascending the circumference of the silk tulle.”

It’s clear that Meghan wanted to keep those sleek, modern lines going well into the night. In a beautifully sentimental addition to her outfit, she also chose a stunning aquamarine ring that once belonged to Princess Diana—one of many tributes the couple included in the big day.

Serena Williams Wore Not One, but Three Stunning Wedding Dresses for Her New Orleans Nuptials

Last Thursday in New Orleans, Serena Williams tied the knot with Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian. Reports from People shared that Williams’ Beauty and the Beast-themed wedding was the celebrity event of the month: Kim Kardashian West, Anna Wintour, and Beyoncé were all in attendance. We had to wait a few days more for the most important detail from her nuptials, though: A glimpse at the dress she wore down the aisle.

On Vogue, we finally got a peek at what Williams wore for her big “I do”—though as it turns out, she wore not one, but three different dresses on the day. For her ceremony gown, Williams worked with Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, the designer who also made Kate Middleton’s iconic wedding dress, topping off the strapless, belted princess gown–complete with cape—with $3.5 million in sparkling jewels. And the fullest, pouffiest skirt we’ve ever seen.

“I flew to London to meet with Sarah and ended up falling in love with the ball gown silhouette, which is completely the opposite of what I ever thought I would choose for myself,” Serena told Vogue. “I loved the idea of doing a really spectacular ball gown, and it has turned out to be such an incredibly special piece.”

Williams debuted her second dress of the big day at the reception dinner—and it was appropriately festive: think beads, feathers, and Versace. Donatella Versace told Vogue it took five embroiderers a total of 1,500 hours to make the gown. The third dress came out for the after-dinner party: this time, another Versace dress—with a short skirt for dancing, of course.

Williams’ wedding dresses are her latest big style moment since returning to the public eye post-pregnancy, and we’re here for it. For her first public appearance since giving birth, she arrived at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards in straight-off-the-runway Versace—a hint, perhaps, at what was to come.

Judging by these first glimpses, Williams can add a stellar wedding dress selection to her long list of victories.

Selena Gomez Looked Stunning in This Fresh Take on the Naked Dress

Ah, the naked dress. Whether made from a single string or worn only with a thong, it’s one trend that is definitely not for the faint of heart. Unless, of course, you consider Selena Gomez‘s fresh—and completely romantic—take on the look, which she wore to the Business of Fashion’s #BoF500 party last night in New York City.

The “Fetish” singer skipped the mesh and almost completely sheer versions favored by the Kardashian clan when she stepped out, opting instead for a decidedly less see-through dress from Rodarte’s Spring 2018 Ready to Wear collection. The fabric, a medium-translucent beige lace, let the dark high-waisted briefs Gomez was wearing underneath peek through. It’s a beautiful look: the juxtaposition of light and dark helps set off the gown’s beautiful beading and floral appliqué.

Gomez was at the event celebrating her BoF 500 cover, which she shared on Instagram earlier this week saying she was “very grateful” for the honor.

Here’s a closer look at her dreamy gown:

As you can see, Gomez’s longtime makeup artist, Hung Vanngo, channeled retro glamour to finish off her look: he put a deep side part in her wavy bob (something we’ve been seeing all over the runways this Fashion Week) and paired it with a dark burgundy lip.

The overall look is very Old Hollywood-meets-woodland-fairy, and we’re here for it. Although we won’t know what her brand-new (and adorable) puppy thought about Selena’s look, her Instagram Story from later that night reveals how Charlie feels about the star herself, and it’s super cute:
