Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Son Archie Reportedly ‘Loves Being Outside in Nature’

In tough times, you know what never fails to lighten the mood? Baby updates—and baby Archie updates, in particular.

Presumably, the little guy is hunkered down with his parents, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, in Canada as the world waits out the coronavirus pandemic. (Harry announced on March 19 that the Invictus Games scheduled for May at The Hague have been postponed until 2021).

Hopefully, he’s still getting lots of outdoor time, as a source tells Us Weekly that’s one of his favorite things. He “loves being outside in nature,” the source said, adding, “Harry’s happy he’s getting to spend quality time with his family.”

“Meghan takes a walk with Archie every single day through the woods,” their source previously told the magazine. “She either pushes him in a stroller through the paved trails through the public woods by their home or straps him on and walks the more rustic routes. The walks usually last around an hour or two, but she takes them daily.”

Honestly, that sounds lovely—it’s no wonder little Archie’s a fan.

The Sussexes have been living in Vancouver Island, Canada since the holidays where they were spotted on a hike by another couple. Markle even took a photo of the pair. “We noticed a group was standing nearby and they had two dogs, one of which was approaching us,” Asymina Kantorowicz said of the royal encounter. “She starts asking if we want her to take a photo for us. We said sure. I didn’t see who she was at that time.” When she realized who it was, she said she froze. “I actually couldn’t believe who it was. Then I looked over to the side, and that’s when I realized Prince Harry was standing there,” she said. “I kept looking back and forth like, ‘Is this actually happening?’”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Will Reportedly Spend Summer With The Queen

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have retired from their duties as working senior royals, but that doesn’t mean they no longer members of the royal family.

According to a new report in The Sunday Times, the couple hopes to return to the United Kingdom in June to take part in the Trooping the Colour, an annual event where the British Army takes over the streets to honor the Queen’s official birthday. But, that’s not all. As the report noted, Harry and Meghan have also accepted an invitation from the Queen to spend part of their summer with her at her beloved Balmoral estate.

As The Times further noted, baby Archie may get in plenty of time with his paternal grandparents, Prince Charles and Camilla, as Prince Harry and Meghan have also reportedly accepted an invitation to spend time at Charles’s own Balmoral retreat. This will be a welcome visit as it is likely that Archie has not seen or spent time with the royal family since his parent’s official move to Canada some months ago.

It will also be extremely important for the Queen who The Sunday Times reported in January was “very sad” about Harry’s absence from both the country and the family. The couple’s move marks a stark change from their days living at Frogmore when the Queen could reportedly walk over to say hello to her great-grandchild.

“When the Queen is there on a Sunday afternoon, it is a five-minute walk up the hill for tea with Granny. It is gorgeous,” a former palace staffer told People.

There’s no news yet on if Harry and Meghan have plans to spend time with Prince William and Kate Middleton. Earlier this March, people thought the couples’ first public reunion for Commonwealth Day services…didn’t go well.

It looked to some like William and Kate ignored attempts from Harry and Meghan to say hello as they waited for the Queen to enter Westminster Abbey.

Hopefully, this summer will give everyone another chance to come together!

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Reportedly Had an Emotional Goodbye With Their U.K. Staff

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry capped off what are believed to be their final engagements as working members of the royal family on Monday, March 9 at the Commonwealth Day services—alongside Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Charles, and Queen Elizabeth.

The couple will soon embark on the latest chapter of their lives in North America, starting their new charitable entity and raising baby Archie. Because they will no longer be full-time working royals, their staff in the U.K. has been let go. But, according to Page Six, the Sussexes hosted a special celebration while they were in London to thank their team for all of their hard work.

The “festive” lunch was held at The Goring Hotel on Thursday, March 5. “Harry and Meghan have often done fun things like throwing pizza parties or hiring ice cream trucks for their staff, but they wanted to do something special going into this last week together,” their source said. “They toasted the team and thanked them for everything they have done. Some of the staffers cried.”

“They’ve all been through so much together, and the staff [has] been working around the clock to make sure this last visit was as seamless as possible,” the source continued. “Meghan and Harry really wanted to show their appreciation, they know how hard everyone has worked.”

The lunch for their staff wasn’t the only private event the Sussexes attended while in the U.K. On March 10, they posted previously unseen photos from a meeting they held with youth leaders in their roles as President and Vice President of the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust, where they are seen smiling and laughing.

Markle also visited the National Theatre, of which she is a royal patron.

What’s next for Meghan Markle and (Prince) Harry is a bit unknown at the moment. We have yet to hear all the details about the new charity organization they are forming, where exactly in North America they plan to live, or how they plan to make the money they’ll now be allowed to earn outside of the royal fold. But we can’t wait to find out.

‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Reportedly Kept Alex Karev Alive for One Simple Reason

Warning: Grey’s Anatomy spoilers ahead.

If you’re one of those Grey’s Anatomy fans who flip-flopped from fearing the writers would kill off Dr. Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) to wishing they had after finding out his fate, listen up.

According to a source that spoke with Us Weekly, there’s a very simple reason the Grey’s Anatomy writers sent Evil Spawn off to live on a farm with Izzie Stevens (Katherine Heigl) and their two kids after Justin Chambers announced his exit in the middle of season 16.

“The reason he wasn’t killed off is because Shonda Rhimes is leaving the door open for a return, in any capacity, if he wants to come back,” an alleged insider told the publication. (If you’re wondering why they mention Rhimes, who is no longer the showrunner of the long-running series, it’s because she still has approval privileges as the executive producer.)

Though Chambers announced in his statement from January that Grey’s had already aired his final scenes, they were ultimately able to get him to loan his voice-over to the farewell episode.

Showrunner Krista Vernoff expressed her appreciation for the actor and character in a recent statement. “We have loved writing Alex. And we have loved watching Justin Chambers’ nuanced portrayal of him,” she tweeted. “For 16 seasons, 16 years, we have grown up alongside Alex Karev. We have been frustrated by his limitations and we have been inspired by his growth and we have come to love him deeply and to think of him as one of our very best friends. We will miss him terribly. And we will always be grateful for his impact, on our show, on our hearts, on our fans, on the world.”

Though Camilla Luddington, who plays Karev’s soon-to-be-ex-wife Jo on the series, has yet to release an official statement, costar Ellen Pompeo (the titular Meredith Grey) called the exit the “best possible storyline” before reuniting with former castmate T.R. Knight.

Whether or not the doctors at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital (or the fans) would be happy to see Karev again after all this remains to be seen….

Meghan Markle Reportedly Says Baby Archie Has Reached an Important New Milestone

The Duchess had some more empowering words of wisdom to share with the school’s young students, telling them they’re all entitled to “speak up for what is right.”

“When we thought about what I wanted to do for International Women’s Day this year, for me it was incredibly important to be with the women of our future,” Markle began her impassioned speech. “And that is all of you young women here as well as you young men who play a very large part in this.”

“No matter how small you might feel, how low you may feel on the ladder or the totem pole, no matter what colour you are, no matter what gender you are—you have a voice, and you certainly have the right to speak up for what is right,” she continued.

Markle also urged the young men in the room to “protect” and “value” the women in their lives every day.

“You have your mothers, sisters, girlfriends in your life. Protect them. Make sure they are feeling valued, and safe,” she said. “Lets all just rally together to make International Women’s Day something that’s not just on Sunday but frankly feels like every day of the year.”

Prince Harry Reportedly ‘Feels Terrible’ For Hurting Queen Elizabeth II

While Prince Harry stands by his decision to step back from his royal duties, he reportedly feels terrible for hurting Queen Elizabeth II in the process.

According to a source with Us Weekly, the ensuing drama and quarrels were never a part of his plan. “He feels terrible about hurting his grandmother, whom he adores,” the source says.

The same source also claims that the decision may have been more about his wife, Megan Markle, than himself. If the source is to be believed, Harry (who’s just going by his first name now) is feeling “a bit isolated” in Canada. “He misses nights out with his boys, polo matches and rugby, and he’s really been craving a decent pint,” the source claims. “He had to put his wife first, end of story. Even if it’s left him feeling a bit isolated.”

Back in January, the royal couple announced their decision to step back. “After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution,” the duke and duchess wrote on Instagram. “We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen.” Was this really only two months ago? It feels like this has been going on for years.

Fast-forward to February, royal historian Robert Lacey told People that the queen may feel particularly in tune with Prince Harry’s feelings. “She has a particular sensitivity to what Harry has been going through because of her closeness to Margaret and seeing the same dramas and tensions played out two generations ago,” Lacey said. He added, “The younger-sibling syndrome is an enduring problem. The system has not found a way of giving them the recognition that they need.”

Through it all, the queen plans to be there for her grandson. “She won’t dwell on the exit,” royal biographer Ingrid Seward also told People. “She is very pragmatic. She has left the door open for Harry especially.”

So basically, no hard feelings all around.
