Selena Gomez Wore a $185 Madewell Outfit for Date Night With Justin Bieber


When you’re a celebrity, you don’t make reservations for a hot Friday-night date—you shut down an entire restaurant. So it was that Selena Gomez and ex-turned-apparent-current-flame Justin Bieber closed down Morton’s Steakhouse in Los Angeles for a post-church-service dinner on Friday night. (It’s worth noting that there’s no official confirmation from either party that they’re indeed dating, only signs and “sources” sharing intel with gossip mags to the point where we can pretty much call it.) The only thing more wonderful than a nicely-cooked filet or an out-of-left-field reconciliation of the most iconic early-’10s celeb couples, believe it or not, is what Gomez was wearing for the outing. Why? Because it was practically head-to-toe Madewell and cozy AF for autumn.

The performer was photographed wearing a sweater-and-jeans look that was very fall-appropriate and also very much shoppable—in other words, the best kind of celebrity outfit. Behold, the full outfit:

She really has it all going with this outfit: the cozy cream-colored fall sweater with just the right amount of detail to step it up (note the tie sleeves!) and the high-rise black jeans with the season’s best crop (asymmetrical, of course.) Throw-’em-on loafers in black—in Selena’s case, a pair of Tod’s Penny creeper loafers—complete the look for a thoroughly autumnal outfit perfect for, say, post-church steakhouse meat cutes. (Sorry not sorry ’bout that pun.)

Fair warning for any bank accounts that just experienced the elation of pay day: Her tie-cuff pullover sweater is on sale right now for $49.99 and comes in some seriously gorgeous shades. So you can one-up Gomez by not only buying up her preferred “Antique Cream” style, but also picking up one in “Burnished Mahogany” and another in “Marled Baltic.” Those Cali demi-boot jeans are a little pricier at $135, but with this cropped, refined-raw edge, it’s likely a style you’d wear for a few seasons—after all, the heart wants what it wants.

Kendall Jenner Wore a Casual Tee-and-Jeans Outfit With $10,000 Boots on Her Birthday


Apparently, Kendall Jenner is very into wearing sparkles on her birthday. Last year, the model rang in her 21st year in a shimmering (and teeny-tiny) slip dress inspired by Paris Hilton. She continued the trend when she was feeling 22 with none other than those $10,000 YSL glitter boots from the brand’s Fall 2017 collection—you know, those made famous by Bad Gal Rih Rih.

Jenner showed up to Petite Taqueria in Los Angeles for her birthday dinner wearing a cropped white tank and some slouchy denim. This pretty typical jeans-and-a-tee outfit was stepped all the way up, though, with the addition of YSL’s Niki 105 thigh-high boots with all-over embroidered white crystals and its five-figure price tag.

Before Kendall took the glitter boots out for a spin, they’ve been spotted on the legs of Rihanna, Cardi B, Nicki Minaj, and Céline Dion. Why none of them took advantage of the Kirakira filter to document their outfits, we’re not sure.

WWD reports that the YSL boots are covered in 3,000 rhinestones per shoe, and had initially racked up “many”-person waiting lists at Saks Fifth Avenue and Bergdorf Goodman, despite the hefty price tag. (Hey, if we had $10,000 to spare, we’d probably be on that waitlist, too.) That’s one literal interpretation of “glitz and glamour” fashion.

Expectations were high for Katy Perry’s MTV Video Music Awards hosting debut on Sunday night—and not only because of all the news expected to break during the three-hour program: On top of all the presenting, joking, singing, and dancing that comes with the job description, we also anticipated the performer would bring her signature fashion for the occasion. After all, what’s one of the biggest nights in music without multiple outfit changes, each one more extravagant than the one before? Plus, Perry’s never been one to shy away from a good lewk.
