Offset Crashed Cardi B's Headlining Set to Win Her Back, and It Did Not Work

Things got very awkward during Cardi B‘s headlining set on stage at the Rolling Loud festival in Los Angeles Saturday night: Her soon-to-be ex-husband, Offset, interrupted her performance in a very public way to ask her back. And—spoiler alert—she was not into it.

A quick catch-up: Earlier this month, Cardi B announced that she and Offset, who she’s been married to for a year and has a daughter with, were divorcing after rumors surfaced of his cheating. Offset doesn’t seem to be on board with the split, though, and has been posting on Instagram about how much he misses Cardi. He apparently decided to his “win Cardi back” mission to the next level with a grand gesture that seemed to seriously backfire.

During the rapper’s set at Rolling Loud in Los Angeles, Offset made a surprise appearance onstage with a massive sign that read “Take me back Cardi” in white and red roses.

He interrupted her show to tell her how badly he wanted to reconcile: “I just want to tell you I’m sorry, bruh,” Offset reportedly told her. “In person. In front of the world.”

She just sort of stood there looking (understandably) annoyed as hell.

Eventually, he walked offstage and she went on with her show.

Let’s just say fans weren’t impressed, with some drawing an apt parallel with an ex showing up unexpectedly at work and interrupting a meeting.

After the incident, Cardi posted to Instagram to thank her fans for their support and to clarify that she doesn’t want them attacking Offset in the wake of the event.

“Violating my baby’s father is not going to make me feel any better, because at the end of the day that’s still family,” she said. “Unfortunately, we’re going through things, and that’s not private, it became public. I just want things to die down, I just need time so we can see eye to eye…I can’t predict the future.”

She continued in a second post, “I’m not saying that I’m going to get back together with him, I just don’t like that bashing online thing.”

Cardi pointed to the recent example of Pete Davidson, who’s been dealing with hateful post-breakup trolls, as why this type of online bullying wasn’t OK, and noted that she didn’t want Offset to have to deal with those “nasty” feelings: “I know how painful it is when you have millions of people bashing you every single day.”

Cardi B, truly the queen.

Cardi B Just Revealed She and Offset Are Divorcing After 1 Year of Marriage

It’s time to add another couple to the ever-growing list of major celebrity breakups this year. Cardi B took to her Instagram—because, of course she did—last night to announce that she and husband Offset have parted ways after a year of marriage. She posted a short video addressing the matter with the caption, “There you go…peace and love.”

“So, everybody been bugging me and everything. And you know, I been trying to work things out with my baby father for a hot minute now,” Cardi said. “We’re really good friends, and we’re really good business partners, but things just haven’t been working out between us for a long time.”

“And we’re really good friends, and, you know, we’re really good business partners, and, you know, he’s always somebody that I run to, to talk to, and we got a lot of love for each other, but things just haven’t been working out between us for a long time,” she continued. “And it’s nobody’s fault. It’s just like I guess we grew out of love. But we’re not together anymore. I don’t know, it might take time to get a divorce. And I’m going to always have a lot of love for him because he is my daughter’s father and yeah.”

Cardi B and Offset got married in September 2017 but managed to keep it a secret for months. “There are so many moments that I share with the world and then there are moments that I want to keep for myself,” she wrote on Twitter in June. “Getting married was one of those moments! Our relationship was so new breaking up and making up and we had a lot of growing up to do but we was so in love we didn’t want to lose each other.”

She gave birth to the couple’s daughter in July of this year and seemingly named her in honor of her father: Kulture Kiari Cephus. (Offset’s given name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, and his rap trio Migos released two successful albums titled Culture and Culture II.)

Offset has yet to make a statement about the breakup other than to comment on Cardi’s video with the somewhat cryptic, “Y’all won.”

Cardi B Wore a White Tracksuit for Her Wedding to Offset, Is an Inspiration

Cardi B certainly knows how to make a statement, especially when it comes to her style. From her jewel-encrusted Moschino gown at the 2018 Met Gala to the three outfit changes she wore to the 2018 VMAs to the bargain-friendly finds she seems to track down on the regular (degular, shmegular), the rapper is constantly making fashion headlines.

So of course when it came to the look she chose for her wedding day to Offset, she didn’t disappoint. Cardi eschewed the traditional big white wedding dress for something far more comfortable: A white tracksuit.

Cardi has managed to keep most details about her wedding to Offset very, very quiet. (In fact, no one even knew they were married for a full eight months.) But, in honor of their one-year anniversary on September 20, she shared a photo from their wedding—the first we’ve ever seen of the event. In it, she’s holding hands with Offset and wearing a white tracksuit with a gold stripe. “TBT …September 20th,” she captioned the shot.

Cardi and Offset welcomed their first child together, Kulture, in July. While their engagement and pregnancy were both well publicized—he proposed to her onstage at a concert, she revealed that she was expecting while hosting SNL—they managed to keep the fact that they were married a secret for the better part of their first year together.

“There are so many moments that I share with the world and then there are moments that I want to keep for myself!” she wrote on Twitter in June. “Getting married was one of those moments! Our relationship was so new breaking up and making up and we had a lot of growing up to do but we was so in love we didn’t want to lose each other.”

She continued, “I said I do, with no dress no make up and no ring! I appreciate and love my husband so much for still wanting for me to have that special moment that every girl dreams of when he got down on his knee and put a ring on my finger and he did that for me!!”

Cardi B Has Given Birth to a Baby Girl—and Her Name Is a Tribute to Offset

Cardi B, record-breaking rapper and relatable fashion icon, just confirmed the birth of her daughter via Instagram this morning (July 11).

According to TMZ, the little girl was born last night, on July 10, in an Atlanta hospital. Cardi’s husband, Offset, was by her side. Fans started to become suspicious that Cardi was in labor after the star—who is usually very active on social media—went conspicuously absent. As one user wrote on Twitter, “I bet cardi b is having her baby because she hasn’t been on social media all day ?.”

So naturally, Cardi turned to social media when it was time to announce her daughter’s arrival via an image of her while pregnant and surrounded by flowers. While she didn’t post a photo of the little one yet, she did reveal her daughter’s name: Kulture Kiari Cephus.

It seems Cardi and Offset, who were secretly married in September, were thinking of family with the choice. Offset’s given name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus. It’s possible the name is also a tribute to Offset’s rap trio Migos, who released two successful albums titled Culture and Culture II.

The rapper confirmed her pregnancy in true Cardi style during a live performance on Saturday Night Live in a custom Christian Siriano dress that showed off her baby bump. Since then, we’ve watched her hit the Met Gala red carpet, become the first female rapper to have two number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100, and clap back at people who said her career was over because she was having a baby. Just the day before Kulture was born, she was showing off baby gifts on her Instagram Stories.

Fans are celebrating Kulture’s arrival on social media—and analyzing her name, of course.

“Lissen, Cardi B’s name is Belcalis Marlenis Almanza and Offset’s name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus,” wrote one user. “They couldn’t just name their baby Jennifer. I’m here for extra spicy, Hogwarts spell-ass names. Welcome to the world, Kulture!”

Another commented, “I guess they’re really doing it for the culture now.”

While some are already ready for Baby #2.

Big congrats to Cardi and Offset! Now we wait for baby Kulture’s public debut—knowing Cardi, it’ll be iconic.

Cardi B Just Confirmed She and Offset Secretly Married Last Year

After Offset called Cardi B his “wife” last night at the 2018 BET Awards, rumors started swirling the two were already married. And it turns out that’s the case: Cardi B took to Twitter on Monday (June 25) to confirm she and Offset have already tied the knot.

That’s not the only surprise, though. It turns out Cardi B and the Migos rapper secretly married in September—one month before they publicly got engaged. If you recall, Offset dropped down to one knee on stage in October during a Philadelphia concert and popped the question to Cardi B. Granted, you can’t audibly hear him say, “Will you marry me?” to Cardi, but the implication was clear: This was a proposal—or so we thought. Now, it appears all of that was for show.

Cardi B clarifies this in the note she wrote to fans today. Her statement suggests that she and Offset spontaneously decided to marry, so it’s possible he didn’t have time to buy a ring. October’s stunt might’ve just been a retroactive proposal.

“There are so many moments that I share with the world and then there are moments that I want to keep for myself! Getting married was one of those moments,” Cardi B wrote on Twitter via her Notes app. “Our relationship was so new breaking up and making up and we had a lot of growing up to do, but we was so in love, we didn’t want to lose each other.”

She went on to say that, “One morning in September, we woke up and decided to get married. We found someone to marry us, and she did. Just the two of us and my cousin. I said, ‘I do,’ with no dress, no make-up, and no ring! I appreciate and love my husband so much for still wanting for me [to] have that special moment that every girl dreams of when he got down on his knee and put a ring on my finger and he did that for me!!”

Cardi B confirmed in April that she and Offset are expecting their first child; ever since, some people have been shaming the rapper for having a child before marriage. This statement should hopefully put an end to that, though it shouldn’t have even been an issue in the first place. Cardi B thinks it will: “Well now since you lil nosey fucks know at least ya can stop saying I had a baby out of wedlock,” she wrote.
