Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Cutest Couple Moments of 2019

It’s been quite the year for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. They welcomed their first child, Archie, went on a royal tour of southern Africa, launched a battle with the tabloids, and, oh yeah, casually met Beyoncé. Truthfully, it was all just in a year’s work for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who are currently taking a well-deserved break out of the spotlight for the holidays.

While Meghan and Harry are kicking back, we figured it’d be fun to go through their cutest moments of the year—both as a couple and new parents. We already know parenthood has profoundly impacted the both of them. “It’s magic. It’s pretty amazing. I have the best two guys in the world, so I’m really happy,” Markle said shortly after giving birth, while Prince Harry added, “It’s been great. Parenting is amazing.” But they’ve also shared some sweet moments just the two of them. Below, the 10 times Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made us swoon the most.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Wedding Photographer Reveals Moments From Behind-the-Scenes

You may have thought you already saw and knew everything about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s 2018 wedding, but turns out there’s a lot that went on behind-the-scenes.

In a recent interview with Evening Standard, the royals’ official wedding photographer Alexi Lubomirski chatted about his experience and shared some rules that needed to be followed, including a strict one which didn’t allow for any PDA.

“There are definitely boundaries,” he told told the publication. “You can’t have them kissing, you can’t have them screaming and running through the garden, and obviously you have to see the ring. But I think it’s within those guidelines that the creativity happens.”

But despite not being allowed to show their affections for one another—apart from that big kiss as they exited their wedding chapel—Lubomirski said the couple’s magnetic chemistry spoke for itself.

“[Prince Harry] would be talking and she would look at him, she’d be smiling at what he said, and then he’d look at her and there’d be this spark between them,” he explained. “I get tingles just thinking about it. They were a young couple in love and it was so cute.”

Lubomirski still did his best to keep the photos “authentic” to the Duke and Duchess. “They are a very modern couple and they have an authenticity to them, so I knew I wanted to break how they were seated,” he shared. “Instead of having the rugby team photo as it were, I wanted to have this sort of random rhythm, like waves.”

As for the couple’s iconic photo on the steps, Lubomirski said he captured it just minutes before the photoshoot was over.

“The Palace official was looking at me saying, ‘We’re going to have to turn around soon,’ and I was like, okay, okay, ‘Just sit down on these stairs.’ And they literally just sort of slumped down, laughing,” he recalled. “Sort of looking at each other going, ‘Oh my god, we’re married.’”

Ugh, these two!

Glamour Women of the Year Summit 2019: All the Best Moments

“I’ve always had something inside me, something like an alarm that goes off when something isn’t right or when someone is trying to pull a fast one on me,” she told the crowd. “I’ve been like this my whole life; people even called me Bossy Stassi growing up. It’s been my experience that women who go after and get what they want are often criticized. I would know. After the first season of Vanderpump Rules aired in 2013, I was called a villain, a bitch, an asshole.”

But then, she said, there was a noticeable shift. “People went from hating me to loving me for the very same reasons,” she explained. “In season one, people hated the way I spoke. Now I’m praised for my conviction. In season one, people said I was mean and entitled. Now I’m praised for being unapologetically honest. In season one, I had a ‘bad attitude.’ Now everyone ‘relates’ to me, because we’re all just moody.”

She continued, “Looking back, there really aren’t many times when I wish I had been less of an asshole. There are only times I wish I would’ve spoken up more—especially with my ex-boyfriend(s). I’ve reached a point in my life where, for my own sanity, I gotta do me. If I don’t speak my mind, my personal life suffers; I feel exhausted, walked all over, and annoyed all the time. It’s my opinion that being an “asshole” is basically listening to what your wants and needs are. To get what you want out of life, whether it’s stepping away from a business deal that brings you no joy or skipping a friend’s birthday party because you really just can’t that night, you have to say, ‘This is what I expect out of people, my bosses, my family, my friends, and my relationships.'”

This backfires all the time, she added. But she has to stay true to herself. “Now I don’t want anyone to hear this and think, I’m going to go be a total bitch now. That’s not it,” she explained. “That’s not what I’m saying. Girls come up to me all the time trying to bond with me by talking shit. I hate that. I don’t think of myself that way. I’m saying that the qualities some people might characterize as “bitchy” are the same qualities that you might need to forge your own path. I am who I am. I know what I want. I know what bothers me and what doesn’t. What I’ll stand for and what I won’t. And if that makes me an ‘asshole,’ I’m cool with that.”
