Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas Are Having Two More Wedding Receptions

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas celebrated their wedding with not one but two ceremonies in Jodhpur, India, a few weeks ago. First, the couple had a traditional Hindu ceremony, which was followed by a more Americanized gathering the next day. (That’s when Chopra wore that gorgeous Ralph Lauren wedding gown with train for days.)

But the newlyweds aren’t done celebrating their marriage yet. Chopra and Jonas have both returned to India for two more wedding receptions. That brings their grand party total up to the three, and I haven’t received a single invitation. Rude!

TMZ reports that Chopra and Jonas hosted a wedding reception on Wednesday (December 19) for members of the media, and they’ll have another one on Thursday for friends in the Bollywood industry.

“This has been an extremely special chapter in my life, and I wanted my husband to meet all the special people who have contributed to it,” Chopra said on Wednesday. “Thank you so much for being here, friends of my parents, my mom—who’s hosting this wonderful evening—my dad, who I know is here, thank you so much for coming and giving your blessing. I hope you have a wonderful time tonight, and this is my husband, Nick Jonas.”

Attendees applauded after this, and Jonas gave a quick speech. “To be here tonight with the people who helped shape who [Chopra has] become means the world to me,” he said. “All of you embracing me with open arms is just unbelievable. So thank you for that.”

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas Attended Their Friend's Wedding—and Of Course They Looked Spectacular

Two weeks ago Priyanka Chopra married Nick Jonas in a gorgeous multiday celebration in India, forever preserved on the cover of People. But the newlyweds are already back on the social circuit, having RSVP’d yes to the nuptials of heiress Isha Ambani, a longtime friend of Chopra’s—and one of her bridesmaids. (This is the same event where Beyoncé performed at a pre-wedding party, so you know it’s big.)

According to Vogue, Chopra and Jonas touched down in Mumbai earlier this week. And for the first wedding since her own, the actress chose a stunning, couture-grade coral look.

Check out Mr. and Mrs. Jonas’ wedding-guest outfits.

Chopra’s lehenga were created by bridal brand Jade, designed by Monica Shah and Karishma Swali. The separates were beautifully embellished to match her Anmol jewelry. For her own wedding, Chopra turned to local Indian labels, like Khosla Jani by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, for the various ceremonies celebrated over the weekend. (She walked down the aisle wearing custom Ralph Lauren.)

Stylist Ami Patel shared a glimpse of Chopra twirling around in her outfit for Ambani’s nuptials on Instagram.

Then Chopra posted a photo of herself and her date.

That “marital bliss” glow.

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas Just Posted Their First Married Selfie

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas are officially that couple. You know who I’m talking about: the newly-married or engaged twosome on your Facebook feed that posts every five minutes about how in love they are. In between photos of their meal preps, they share insanely sappy, perfectly-staged photos with captions like “forever starts now” or “I love this human!” At least one person in this couple was rude to you in the seventh grade, which means you have absolutely zero tolerance for any time they talk about buying a house or getting a dog or how *~their significant other beats your significant other ~! Hah! Joke’s on them, because I’m so single!

Thankfully, you have nothing against Chopra and Jonas, so their “marital bliss”—as Chopra lovingly called it on Instagram Tuesday (December 11)—isn’t nearly as frustrating. It’s sweet! Sure, it’s a little rude they’re posting cute selfies like this while I’m contemplating ordering a Ben & Jerry’s pint at 8:30 A.M., but they’re so gorgeous that it’s fine. Also, Jonas and Chopra seem like an actually cool couple—unlike the Facebook locals—so that cancels any corniness from this selfie or others.

Take a look at the only couple who can get away with Instagram posts like this for yourself, below:

Jonas and Chopra do have a lot to celebrate, after all. They just tied the knot in a multi-day ceremony over the weekend of December 1, and followed this up with a work engagement just days later. A little R&R is probably much-needed.

Don’t mind me, I’ll just be over here staging this exact photo with the empty Domino’s pizza box in my kitchen. How’s that for marital bliss?

Priyanka Chopra Just Made Her Marriage to Nick Jonas Instagram Official

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas have never been shy about sharing their love story on Instagram. So, it should come as no surprise that Chopra is making their marriage Instagram official just days after their multi-event wedding celebration in India last weekend.

A quick peek at her Instagram page reveals that the star’s name is now Priyanka Chopra Jonas. (Her actual handle is still @PriyankaChopra, unlike other recent celebrity bride Hailey Bieber who changed her handle as well.) As of now, it’s just a ‘Gram thing—her Twitter and Facebook pages have yet to be changed to include her new husband’s last name. And no word yet on whether Chopra will use her new name professionally in film and TV credits, the way, say, Jenna Dewan Tatum did during her marriage to Channing Tatum.

Check it out:

In case you (somehow) missed it, Chopra and Jonas got married last weekend in not one, but two, ceremonies celebrating both of their religious backgrounds—Christian and Hindu. “The emotions were running high during the ceremonies. I think especially during the Western wedding for me,” Jonas said of the big day. “You know, you think your whole life about that moment. Honestly, I could not have imagined it would be as perfect as it was. It was highly emotional.”

Chopra agreed. “It was all tears. All tears,” she said. “I could not hold it in. I think I was nervous and scared. But as soon as the curtains opened and I saw his face, it was just like everything settled and I knew I was making the best decision of my life.”

The couple said that they’re delaying their honeymoon for work obligations, but we’re glad to see that they’re already very much enjoying married life. Though, if we’re being totally honest, we wouldn’t have minded if Nick decided to take her last name instead. Nick Chopra sounds great, right?

This Is Why Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas Are Delaying Their Honeymoon

After a beautiful, multi-day wedding celebration that included two ceremonies (one Christian, one Hindu), one might think that Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas would be ready to escape to a private resort for their honeymoon. (Plus, think of all the sponsored opportunities!)

That’s not happening quite yet, though. Why? A very un-sexy reason: work obligations. The newlyweds made their first official public appearance as a married couple at the India launch of the app Bumble in New Delhi. Chopra, who joined the company as an investor and advisor this fall, said that the date for the launch was set before her wedding—and she didn’t want to miss the important event.

“My work and Nick’s work are very important to us,” she told India’s NDTV. “My commitments matter to me a lot. My word is my bond. And we had decided to do this a long time ago before anyone was getting married and so I stuck to my commitment. But besides that it’s something I’m really excited about as well.”

OK, that makes sense. So where will they go once they are able to slip away? Chopra insists that even she doesn’t know, as the trip seems to be on Jonas to plan—not that they’d necessarily tell the world anyway. “I have no idea,” she said. “Right now, I have just work commitments this whole month … And I don’t know. We still haven’t figured out where. I think it’s going to be a surprise though. I think that’s what my husband’s planning.”

But Chopra also offered some good advice for other newlyweds. “I would just tell brides out there, whatever your priority is, is right. It doesn’t matter if your priority is work, that’s right,” she said. “If your priority is honeymoon, that’s right. If your priority is doing nothing, that’s right too. Because as newlyweds, it’s really your turn. You get to do whatever you want. And with us, these are the choices we took that work for us.”

Cheers, you two! Hope you get some time off soon.

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas Say Their 'Perfect' Wedding Weekend Was 'All Tears'

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ wedding weekend wrapped on Sunday night, and it included 225 guests, elaborate musical numbers, and not one but two ceremonies. People magazine chatted with the couple about the festivities leading up to “I do,” and it all just sounds, well, “perfect.”

“The emotions were running high during the ceremonies, I think especially during the Western wedding for me,” Jonas says. (The couple had both a traditional Hindu wedding and a Western ceremony.) “You know you think your whole life about that moment. Honestly, I could not have imagined it would be as perfect as it was. It was highly emotional.”

Chopra echoes this sentiment. “It was all tears. All tears,” she says. “I could not hold it in. I think I was nervous and scared. But as soon as the curtains opened, and I saw his face it was just like everything settled and I knew I was making the best decision of my life.”

The celebration took place over four days at the Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, India, a lavish residence that boasts 347 rooms, a full-service hotel, and a museum. The couple had a Mehendi ceremony on November 30, where they received henna tattoos, and a Sangeet ceremony later that night included elaborate musical performances from both Chopra and Jonas. A Western ceremony, where Chopra wore a stunning Ralph Lauren gown with a 75=foot long veil, took place on Saturday (December 1), and the Hindu wedding took place on Sunday.

“I love that our wedding was a religious mash-up,” Chopra says. “We took beautiful traditions that we both grew up with and personalized them in a way that made sense for us. It’s been incredible to find the commonalities between our beliefs and figuring out how to blend them in a respectful and meaningful way.”
