Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are expecting their first child! Kensington Palace confirmed the news on Monday, October 15.

“Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019,” the palace posted to both Twitter and Instagram on Monday morning. “Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public.”

Kensington Palace also posted a photo of Markle and Prince Harry at their recent visit to the Joff Youth Centre in Sussex along with this announcement. Check out the messages on both Twitter and Instagram for yourself, below:

Naturally, the Internet is doing backflips over this news. Soon after Kensington Palace confirmed everything, #RoyalBaby started trending on Twitter, along with “Meghan Markle,” “Prince Harry,” and “Sussex. “

This news is coming just days after Princess Eugenie’s wedding, where Markle was the subject of unfair speculation after she wore a coat many thought was covering up a baby bump. It should go without saying that even though Markle is pregnant, making assumptions based on a woman’s appearance is never OK.

It’s been quite the year for Markle and Prince Harry, who married in May and have made a steady stream of appearances since then. The couple’s first royal tour officially begins tomorrow, October 16, with a stop in Sydney, Australia.

Dakota Johnson Responds to Rumors She's Expecting a Baby With Chris Martin


Only a few days after Dakota Johnson finally acknowledged her almost one-year-long relationship with Chris Martin, the pair is now the subject of rumors they’re expecting a child.

On Sunday afternoon (October 7), according to TMZ, Martin appeared to be hosting a party in his backyard that featured baby pink and blue balloons as decorations. However, this wasn’t some kind of gender reveal party, as TMZ noted. Johnson’s rep denied this rumor and said in a statement to People that the party was just a birthday celebration for the actress, who turned 29 on October 4.

Martin is already father to 14-year-old daughter Apple and 12-year-old son Moses with ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow, who has continued to praise his parenting skills in the years since their split. On Father’s Day this year, she posted a photo of her ex with their two children, calling him “a ray of sunshine.”

In honor of the same holiday in 2015, she shared another photo of Martin with Apple, toasting him with, “Here is to all the engaged and present fathers, you create a backbone for society.”

Johnson and Martin have been dating since last fall, when they were first spotted having dinner in Los Angeles. Since then, they’ve traveled all over the world together, attended Hollywood parties as each other’s plus-ones, and, some time in the last month or two, apparently got matching infinity symbol tattoos.

Though the pair have stayed remarkably tight-lipped about the status of their relationship, Johnson did finally seem to at least confirm it’s a thing in her November cover interview for Tatler. “I’m not going to talk about it, but I am very happy,” she admitted.

Carrie Underwood Is Expecting Her Second Child


The Underwoods are rounding up to an even number.

Carrie Underwood, American Idol alumna and country music sensation, has just revealed she’s expecting her second child with her hockey player husband Mike Fisher. The new addition to the family will join Underwood and Fisher’s two-year-old son, Isaiah. “Mike, Isaiah, and I are absolutely over the moon and excited to be adding another fish to our pond,” Underwood revealed on social media Wednesday morning. “This has been a dream come true with the album and baby news. We’re just so excited and glad you guys can share this with us and be a part of this with us. Love you guys. We will see you on the road in 2019!” As Us Weekly notes, Underwood didn’t indicate how far along she in her pregnancy, and didn’t reveal if she’s expecting a girl or boy. However, she’ll be delaying her pre-announced Cry Baby 360 tour until May for the sake of her pregnancy.

Underwood and Fisher have been married for just over eight years, tying the knot at a Georgia plantation with the help of a gorgeous, custom-designed Monique Lhuillier gown (and lots of pink decorations). Upon the birth of her son six years later, Underwood was very forthcoming about the issues she faced during pregnancy. “I remember when we first found out we were gonna have him, it [was] like, ‘How are we gonna do this? Our lives are so crazy as it is,’” she told People at the time. “But you just make room and you learn how important that family time is, and to be able to spend time and carve out some of that and maybe get to go on vacation and maybe get to go on a cruise—that stuff is so important to, like I said, make time for family. That’s what it’s all about.”

America Ferrera Is Expecting Her First Child—and She Announced It in the Cutest Way


One celebrity is starting off the new year with something to look forward to: Actress America Ferrera is expecting her first child with husband Ryan Piers Williams.

The announcement came in the form coordinated Instagram posts, in which the two of them wore festive 2018 glasses while Ferrera held up a little gray baby onesie with the words “Más besos (por favor)” (“More kisses (please)”). The Superstore actress captioned the photo: “We’re welcoming one more face to kiss in 2018! Wishing you #MásBesos in the New Year! #babybesos#HappyNewYear.” Williams reposted Ferrera’s ‘gram with a cute caption of his own. “Making room for new and beautiful things to come in 2018!#happynewyear.”

The couple, who celebrated 12 years together over the summer, met at the University of Southern California, when Ferrera was an actress in Williams’ student film. The two got engaged in 2010, and married in 2011.

Ferrera’s 2018 celebrations were quite different than last year’s: If you remember, Ferrera called it an early night on December 31, 2016, while Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (and real-life) BFFs were ringing in the new year. They called her via FaceTime to say hi—or, as Ferrera would (jokingly) claim later on James Corden’s Late Late Show, to make her jealous.

Her 2017 came to quite an epic ending, though. On top of this announcement, Ferrera also capped out the year with an appearance in Jay Z’s “Family Feud” music video, which was directed by Ava DuVernay and featured an incredible cast of women including Thandie Newson, Mindy Kaling, Rashida Jones, Constance Wu, Brie Larson, and Rosario Dawson, among others. Not too bad at all.

Chrissy Teigen Is Pregnant and Expecting Second Child With John Legend—See Their Announcement


It’s official: Luna Legend is going to be an older sister. Chrissy Teigen announced on Instagram today that she and John Legend are expecting their second child.

Teigen revealed the news in the most Chrissy Teigen way possible: by uploading a video straight to social media. In it, Teigen’s daughter Luna is on her lap when she subtly lifts up her shirt to reveal her belly and asks, “Luna, what’s in here?” Luna enthusiastically replies, “baby” and Teigen follows up with, “Is it a baby?” So, yes, my friends, Teigen literally announced this pregnancy by having Luna point to her stomach and say “baby.” If that’s not the cutest thing in the world, then what is?

To drive the point home even further, Teigen hilariously captioned the video on Instagram with, “It’s John’s!” Check out the clip for yourself, below:

Legend confirmed the news on Twitter too, sharing Teigen’s Instagram video and writing four emojis: “?? ?? ❤️ ❤️ .” They’re seriously the greatest family on the planet.

Teigen and Legend welcomed baby Luna in April 2016, and she’s since talked about having more kids. In October she officially revealed that she and Legend were trying for a second child.

In Glamour‘s April 2017 cover story, Teigen opened up more about Luna and her struggle with postpartum depression.

“Most days were spent on the exact same spot on the couch and rarely would I muster up the energy to make it upstairs for bed,” she wrote. “John would sleep on the couch with me, sometimes four nights in a row. I started keeping robes and comfy clothes in the pantry so I wouldn’t have to go upstairs when John went to work. There was a lot of spontaneous crying.”

She also noted in this essay that having postpartum depression hasn’t deterred her from wanting more kids. “I love John and Luna more than I can imagine loving anything, and John and I still hope to give Luna a few siblings. Postpartum hasn’t changed that,” she wrote.

Kate and Will Are Expecting Royal Baby No. 3!

Finally something good is happening in the world: another royal baby is on the way! Catherine “Kate” Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, mother of two, wife to Prince William, hair icon, and future Queen of England, is pregnant with her and Prince William’s third child, according to a statement released by Kensington Palace on Monday morning.

“Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their third child,” said the statement, before continuing: “The Queen and members of both families are delighted with the news. Um, we are, too! Is it weird for us Americans to be so happy for them? They’re cute! We like it!

The palace’s statement was released early—Kate is reportedly less than three months along—to explain the cancellation of a public appearance.

As with her previous two pregnancies, the duchess has really severe morning sickness. “The Duchess is suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum,” read the statement. “Her Royal Highness will no longer carry out her planned engagement at the Hornsey Road Children’s Centre in London today.” As before, she is receiving care at Kensington Palace.

As you’re probably aware, Prince William and Kate Middleton are already parents to Prince George, who is 4 and will start school this Thursday, and Princess Charlotte, who is 2 and has the distinction of being the cutest little girl in the dang world—even when she’s being a little fussy (as 2-year-olds are!). (Also, for you really hardcore royal-watchers at home: no, a baby brother would not displace Princess Charlotte in the line of succession, thanks to a law passed in 2011.)

Earlier this summer, in Warsaw, the Duchess joked about having more children when a fan handed her a toy for a newborn, saying, “We will just have to have more babies.” Thank you for keeping your promises, Will and Kate, and congratulations!
