Is Beyoncé and Jay-Z's Bodyguard Carrying Their Alcohol at the Golden Globes 2020?

Beyoncé and Jay-Z are never late to a party. Everybody else is just simply early. That’s why I didn’t bat an eye when I saw them standing in the back of the room at the 2020 Golden Globes on Sunday night (January 5), waiting for Kate McKinnon to finish her speech so they could take their seats. (It appears they showed up to the awards show in the middle of the SNL star tributing Ellen DeGeneres.) What did catch my eye, though, were the bottles of booze their apparent bodyguard was hiding behind his back.

Well, I didn’t see this with my own two eyes, exactly. It was on my TV screen—and brought to the surface by L.A. Times reporter Amy Kaufman who tweeted, “@Beyonce and Jay-Z just walked in. They’re waiting until Kate McKinnon finishes speaking to take their seats. Is their bodyguard carrying bottles of alc for them?”

Check out the image for yourself, below:

It’s not 100 percent clear if what Kaufman wrote is true, but regardless, what a mood. If I was Beyoncé, I would demand that a bodyguard carry bottles of champagne around for me at all times. And not just to awards shows: to the grocery store, to the gym, to file my taxes, to pick up my dry-cleaning. You never know when the desire to crack open a bottle of bubbly is going to come, right?

The internet is living for Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s surprise appearance at the Golden Globes. Below, just a few reactions.

Beyoncé was nominated for Best Original Song at tonight’s Globes. (She co-wrote “Spirit” from the live-action Lion King alongside Timothy McKenzie and Ilya Salmanzadeh.) Other nominees for the award included Taylor Swift and Andrew Lloyd Webber (“Beautiful Ghosts,” Cats) and Joshuah Brian Campbell and Cynthia Erivo (“Stand Up,” Harriet). The award, ultimately, went to Elton John and Bernie Taupin for their song “(I’m Gonna) Love Me Again” from Rocketman.

Rihanna Attended a Football Match Carrying a $3,500 Inflatable Soccer Ball as a Purse

Rihanna attended a soccer match in Turin, Italy, wearing an accessory only she could pull off: a Louis Vuitton ball-shaped purse.

The beauty mogul attended the Juventus vs Athletic Madrid UEFA Champions League match with her brother earlier this week, and all eyes were on her very appropriate accessory.

According to Page Six, the limited-edition piece, featuring the signature brown LV monogram pattern and a leather shoulder strap, was originally created in the late ’90s to celebrate the 1998 World Cup in France. And it wasn’t actually even designed to be a purse. Instead, it’s an inflatable ball that comes with a tip to blow air in it like a real soccer ball.

It’s not clear how much the vintage “bag” costs, but pre-owned versions are available online starting at $2,800 and up to $3,500.

To complete her look, Rihanna wore a monochromatic brown outfit—all pieces from her Fenty clothing line—and accessorized it with sunglasses, a scarf, and Louis Vuitton ankle boots.

During the game, she also posed for photos with a Juventus jersey that had “Riri” printed on the back. It even featured the number 20, likely chosen in honor of her birthday on February 20.

This Video of Priyanka Chopra Carrying Sophie Turner in Heels Is Everything

Priyanka Chopra’s girl gang touched down in Amsterdam this weekend for the star’s bachelorette party, and suffice to say, it looks like they’re having a pretty good time. We’ve caught glimpses via Chopra’s and other guests’ Instagram Stories, and there’s a whole lot of gorgeous canals, delicious food, and cocktails happening.

Of course, Chopra isn’t the only one engaged to a Jonas brother at the moment. Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner also has a wedding coming up with Joe Jonas, Nick’s older brother. And it seems like Turner is getting a sneak peek at her bachelorette party to come: She’s in the Netherlands with the rest of Chopra’s squad. Just judging by the pics alone, it looks like she and Chopra are going to be fantastic sisters-in-law.

Take this great video, for example, that Chopra posted to her Instagram Stories. It captures the actress carrying Turner around piggy-back style—”in heels!” Chopra jokingly remarks. “Ugh—this is what you have to do for sister-in-laws these days,” she continued, also adding the delightful hashtag “#TheJSisters” to the clip.

Turner’s also posted a few other cute pics of Chopra to celebrate the bride-to-be.

Then there are these little clips, which includes the third feathery and bridal-y look we’ve seen on Chopra in about a week (something we’re guessing may just pop up on her wedding dress come December 2, when she and Nick are reportedly set to get married in Jodhpur, India).

They’ve stepped out in public together before—the two and their fiancés went on a double date to watch the champs at the U.S. Open earlier this year. But we have our fingers crossed for more of these sisters-in-law moments in 2019. If anything, imagine what the holidays will be like for the “J Sisters” this year. Epic.

Macy's Will Start Carrying Verona Collection, Its First Modest Fashion Line

Macy’s is the latest mass retail company to introduce merchandise that caters to Muslim consumers. The department store chain announced on Thursday that it’s teaming up with Verona Collection, a modest clothing brand cofounded by Lisa Vogl and Alaa Ammuss, to stock a selection of dresses, pants, cardigans, tops, and hijabs, according to The Huffington Post.

The partnership stemmed from the retailer’s The Workshop at Macy’s initiative, which aims to foster and support minority- and women-owned businesses into potential future retail partners. (Verona Collection participated in the program.) “Verona Collection is more than a clothing brand,” the modest fashion line’s cofounder said in a press release. “It’s a platform for a community of women to express their personal identity and embrace fashion that makes them feel confident on the inside and outside.”

Starting on February 15, shoppers will be able to shop an edit of Verona Collection’s ready-to-wear piece—including abayas and headscarves—online, on Macy’s website. Prices are expected to range from $12.95 to $84.95.

“Through The Workshop at Macy’s, Lisa shared her vision to create a collection that speaks to a community of women looking for a solution to their fashion needs,” Cassandra Jones, senior vice president of Macy’s Fashion, added. “Verona Collection offers a unique and understated elegance through everyday essentials designed for versatility and comfort, and through our partnership, we can better serve our customer looking for modest fashion.”

Macy’s joins Dolce & Gabbana, American Eagle Outfitters, Nike, and a handful of other brands in expanding its offerings to speak to the Muslim shopper, either through limited-edition collections or permanent product additions—and in wanting to tap into a sizable market that for years had been neglected by mainstream fashion. What’s unique (and commendable) about Macy’s efforts is that it’s being done in partnership with an independent, Muslim-owned company. Hopefully, we see more of this in 2018.

Bloomingdales Is Opening Up Beauty Boutiques, and They're Carrying An Insane Amount of Stuff

PHOTO: Instagram / @bloomingdales

It’s a good time to be a beauty obsessive: On the heels of Sephora bringing in everything from ColourPop to Pat McGrath and blowing our minds with its weekly deep-cut sales, Bloomingdales just announced that the beauty department we all know and love is about to change with a new concept that includes 800 products all under $100. That’s not a small brown bag situation.

Going by the name Glowhaus, the idea is built around discovering your new favorite things, Stacie Borteck, Bloomingdales’ vice president and divisional merchandise manager of cosmetics told Glamour. “It’s a space to browse and play in a low-pressure environment, anchored by a play table to hang out around, try products at and take selfies.” Only four of the 30 brands are Bloomies tried and true, so it’s an eye-opening assortment of new products—and the 800 products are pulled from labels you’d be more likely to spot on Instagram Discover than in the department store.

The focus is on color and tools, so look for the influencer-loved Vamp Stamp and Winky Lux’s trademark flower lipsticks, alongside products and brands like Lash Star Beauty’s Heated Lash Styler, Lime Crime’s Diamond Crushers, Rouge Bunny Rouge, Lanolips, and Sigma Beauty.

So between this and the aforementioned ColourPop in Sephora, we’re essentially done with shipping fees. According to WWD, as of now the products will be broken down by clean beauty, no-makeup makeup (so, Glossier-esque), and glitter and metallic-finish Insta makeup.

But that likely won’t stick around for long—Borteck says the emphasis will be on constantly keeping the selection fresh, with input from shoppers welcome. Per Bloomingdales, “brand agnostic associates” will be there to guide us through the stock, with makeup artists on hand to man the stations of products trending on social media.

Brand loyalty runs deep for both Sephora and Ulta, so on top of the Bloomie’s Loyallist program (double points every day on beauty purchases, and special point offerings during select events), Glowhaus is launching a sample program: for every $50 spent, you can choose one of four deluxe, under-the-radar samples.

The single downside is that for now, the boutiques will be limited to locations in Roosevelt Field, New York, and San Francisco, Sherman Oaks and South Coast Plaza in California. All open on August 30—but with a sell like 800 products under $100, Borteck says to look for more locations in 2018.
