All the Movies We Can't Wait to See in 2020

We haven’t even gotten through every film from this year yet, but the slate of 2020 movies we are dying to see is already long.

Luckily, there’s already something for everyone. You’ve got your highly-anticipated sequels featuring major movie stars like Gal Gadot‘s Wonder Woman 1984, Margot Robbie‘s Birds of Prey, Tom Cruise’s Top Gun: Maverick, and Daniel Craig’s (reported) final run as James Bond in No Time to Die. Or perhaps you prefer a smaller, female-driven narrative like Emma or Promising Young Woman, a revenge thriller starring Carey Mulligan and written and directed by Emerald Fennell, who we last saw as Camilla Shand in season three of The Crown. On the comedy front, we cannot wait to see what Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo have come up with for their follow-up to Bridesmaids: Barb and Star Go to the Vista del Mar. I’m already canceling all my plans for the year.

Here are the 2020 movies we’re most excited about so far. (We’ll update as more release dates are confirmed.)

Linda Hamilton: Why Can't 60 Be the New 60?

When the first Terminator movie debuted in 1984, Linda Hamilton became a big screen icon almost overnight: As Sarah Connor, she transformed from helpless to heroine, a buff badass who would stop at nothing to save her son even if it meant becoming an outlaw. Thirty-five years later, Hamilton returns to the character for Terminator: Dark Fate, a film that challenged her mentally and physically. Glamour spoke with the actress about getting into fighting shape at 62, her relationship with her body, and battling to give Sarah Connor the story she deserves.

I have never been about what’s on the outside, ever. I’m uncomfortable with makeup on—I only put it on when I work. I don’t really even use moisturizer. I just don’t care. I’m proud to be my age. I keep saying: Why does 40 have to be the new 60? Why can’t 60 be the new 60? Why do we have to color everything with this idea of eternal youth?

Still, prepping for Terminator now versus 30 years ago were very different experiences. One assumes that you put in the same amount of time and work, and you’ll get the same result. But that doesn’t happen with a 62-year-old body. I first thought: I’m going to go right back and be the same person. But you need hormones to build muscles, and I can’t do it in the same way anymore. I realized I just had to work a different way. Thankfully, I had a fantastic trainer and team who helped me prepare. We worked for a year to get ready. We really focused on moving the body, like pilates, and not just static pumping weights. I didn’t touch carbohydrates for a year. But eventually, I just said: This is who I am, and this is who Sarah Connor is.

Then, when I showed up for my first wardrobe fitting, they literally had to add ass. Isn’t that funny? You work your butt off, and then they’re like, you need more butt. I never saw that coming. In my regular life, I like to have more butt. I work out. But I also enjoy sitting on the couch and eating pie sometimes, so I try not to live in a rigid world that I can’t have treats. I just like to keep it all in balance.

MTV VMAs 2019: The Best Hair & Makeup You Can't Miss

Consider the official dress code of the 2019 MTV VMAs “anything goes.” The awards show that brought us Gaga hanging from the ceiling and that Kanye moment is just as memorable for the iconic style that happens on the red carpet as it is for the antics that happen on stage. (Case and point: Lil’ Kim’s purple wig and pastie situation and to just about everything Katy Perry’s worn in the past.) Given that MTV has always served as an outlet for the rebellious, stars aren’t afraid to let loose and have more fun with their style than, say, the Grammys.

This year’s carpet did not disappoint, especially on the beauty front. Lizzo brought her trademark campy glam ahead of her highly anticipated performance, and Taylor Swift brought back that classic red lip thing we all like. Read on for our favorite looks from the VMAs below, and check back as we add more throughout the night.

People Can't Stop Talking About Kate Middleton and Prince William Flying Commercial

Did you ever think you’d know this much about the travel logistics of Britain’s royal family? I definitely didn’t—and I’m a lifelong royals fan.

But the latest controversy surrounding Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s use of a private jet is showing no signs of slowing down. The latest development that’s causing a heated debate on social media involves Prince Harry’s brother, Prince William, and Kate Middleton. The Daily Mail reports that the Cambridges—along with their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—took a budget commercial airline flight to Scotland this morning. (They are likely going to visit Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip at Balmoral, where they spend a portion of the summer.)

For context: Prince Harry and Markle were criticized earlier this week for taking a private jet to Elton John’s home in Nice while also touting environmental causes. John defended the Sussexes use of his plane, citing security concerns and noting that the flight was carbon neutral thanks to a donation he made.

Now, direct comparisons are being made between the two couples’ recent plane uses. Of course, it should be noted that we don’t know how many times Middleton and Prince William have flown on private jets in the past or when Prince Harry or Markle have been on commercial flights. (Though Prince Harry was spotted on a British Airways flight earlier this spring.) We’re also not privvy to any security concerns involved in travel planning for any of the royals.

Of course, this isn’t stopping the chatter online:

Some even think this is a PR play by Prince William and Kate Middleton to garner favor, but there’s no hard evidence of that:

Who knows what’s going on here, honestly. Regardless, these tweets are clear we should all take some advice from Taylor Swift and just calm down.
