Every Single Outfit Meghan Markle Has Worn on Her Royal Tour of Australia

Meghan Markle is expecting a baby, but she’s also celebrating another royal first: She and Prince Harry have embarked on a royal tour of the Commonwealth halfway across the globe. From October 16th through the 31st, the couple will visit Australia, Fiji, the Kingdom of Tonga, and New Zealand, with an education- and serviced-based itinerary centered around environmental conservation, youth leadership, and rehabilitation for servicemen and women. And, as we know from previous royal tours, that means there are a lot of photo opps.

With several days of appearances and events lined up, we’re gearing up for two straight weeks of Duke and Duchess of Sussex moments—from PDA to, yes, fashion. And from the moment she touched down in Sydney, Markle has delivered. (Not that we expected anything less from a woman who can wear tuxedo dresses and fast-fashion blouses with equal finesse.) Early outfits have included looks by Karen Gee and Brandon Maxwell, which has only raised the anticipation for the rest of her travel wardrobe. So we’re gathering them all in one place: Check out every single ensemble Markle has worn on her 2018 royal tour so far, with plenty of updates coming throughout the next two weeks.

Meghan Markle Wore Princess Diana's Jewelry During Her Royal Tour of Australia

Amid all the hoopla surrounding her pregnancy announcement, you may have missed a lovely tribute to the late Princess Diana in Meghan Markle‘s first outfit from her and Prince Harry’s royal tour of Australia, Fiji, the Kingdom of Tonga, and New Zealand.

The first stop on their 16-day visit was to the Admiralty House in Sydney, home to Sir Peter Cosgrove, governor-general of Australia. For her first appearance since revealing that she’s expecting her first child, Markle wore a white sheath dress by local designer Karen Gee (which can be yours for around $1,285, at the current exchange rate) with suede pumps.

The talking point, though, was her jewelry, which she appears to have plucked straight from Princess Diana’s collection.

Fans quickly identified her sparkly butterfly earrings as having belonged to the late princess. She wore them in May 1986, while on a royal tour of Canada with Prince Charles.

That wasn’t the only accessory Markle borrowed for her trip: The Duchess of Sussex also wore Princess Diana’s bracelet from a 1990 visit to an elderly home in East London.

According to Hello!, Princess Diana left all of her jewelry to her two sons with the intention of having their future wives wear them one day. Markle’s engagement ring features diamonds from her collection; she also wore one of her most famous pieces—an aquamarine cocktail ring—to her wedding reception, with her now-famous Stella McCartney gown.

Throughout their relationship, Markle and Prince Harry have spoken about how important it is to them to honor the memory of Princess Diana during big milestones. That continues to ring true as they embark on yet another, very exciting chapter.

Meghan Markle Is Reportedly Taking Her Best Friend on Her Royal Tour of Australia

Meghan Markle is all about her girl squad, even when she’s traveling across the world for a major royal tour. According to reports, the Duchess of Sussex has decided to bring her best friend and stylist Jessica Mulroney on the road with her next week when she and Prince Harry kick off a 16-day visit to Australia, Fiji, Tonga, and New Zealand—because even a duchess needs her BFF nearby.

The Daily Mail and The Sunday Times both report that Mulroney will be on hand with her husband, Ben, in an “unofficial capacity”—reportedly meaning they’ll be paying their own way and kind of just casually tagging along on the royal tour, NBD. They’re expected to fly from Toronto to meet Prince Harry and Markle when the tour launches at the Sydney Opera House on Tuesday.

Mulroney has often styled Markle for important events, and with the amount of stops and photo ops Markle will be doing on this tour, it could be handy to have a little casual behind-the-scenes advice in the style department, since she might have as many as three outfit changes in a single day. Mulroney likely provided her expertise for Markle’s engagement party last November, and might have also been behind the beige trench coat from House of Nonie that the Duchess of Sussex wore to the Nelson Mandela Centenary Exhibit in London in July.

The two have reportedly been friends since they met in 2011, back when Markle was on Suits (Mulroney is based in Toronto, where the show was shot). Since becoming buds, they’ve been photographed together a number of times, and Mulroney was one of the guests at Markle’s wedding in May.

She’s also one of the duchess’s core group of friends, who also include power women like tennis legend Serena Williams and actress Priyanka Chopra. They’re so close that when Markle was planning her wedding, Mulroney was rumored to be one of the friends she was considering as a maid of honor.

Although Markle didn’t end up going with anyone as a maid of honor (how would you choose, with that crowd?), it’s clear the two are still super tight—and this tour sounds like it’s going to be a girls trip to remember.

Australia Returns Edmonton Rapist in Shackles

Edmonton, rapist, Australia

An Edmonton man accused of being a rapist has been returned to Canada in shackles from Australia. 24 year old Nicholas Lemont has been accused of committing sexual assault against a 19 year old female, and the crime occurred almost three years ago in a home in McCauley. Lemont was recently arrested in Australia, and he was returned to Alberta in shackles to face numerous charges which are serious. On June 22, 2012, at approximately 1 am in the morning, a young woman was attacked after a male broke into her home in the inner city. The man was wearing a disguise during the crime, and the female victim who was assaulted had to be treated at a local hospital for her injuries. Edmonton police from the sexual assault unit took the investigation and identified Lemont as a person of interest.

After the suspected Edmonton rapist was listed as a person of interest Lemont left for Australia, and the Canadian government requested an extradition after a country wide arrest warrant was issued for him on January 24. Lemont was arrested by the Australia Federal Police and taken into police custody in Cairn. Once in custody Lemont was transferred to Sydney, where two officers from Edmonton too charge of the suspect and escorted him on the rest of the trip back to Alberta in shackles. One of the officers who acted as the escort from Australia was Officer Dalziel, who said “It’s very rare that we would go internationally to look for someone, but I think that we have set some precedent here. I guess the message here is it doesn’t matter where you go. EPS can track you down internationally and we will bring someone back for charges as significant and serious as these ones. He was in Australia. To me that looks like there was effort to not be here in Canada to face some pretty serious charges.”
