2017 American Music Awards: Every Single Outfit Tracee Ellis Ross Wore to Host


In the past week, we’ve discovered that Tracee Ellis Ross isn’t only the life coach we didn’t know we needed, but also the ideal award show host. That’s right, the Golden Globe-winning actress is the right combination of charisma, comedic timing, and energy to keep us tuned in for a three-hour-plus program, but she can also slay multiple outfit changes like it’s nothing. (Well, stylist Karla Welch certainly lent a helping hand.) To go from a long-sleeved, totally-sequined Stella McCartney gown to a sculptural, bronze pleated dress by Roland van der Kemp, to then segue into vintage Diana Ross-inspired looks, including a white suit that was a direct callback to the time her mom famously twinned with Michael Jackson in 1981 (featuring the original bedazzled blouse, dug out from Ross’ garage, to boot), and look impeccable every single time? Only Tracee.

The Black-ish star followed in AMAs host tradition and orchestrated multiple outfit changes throughout the night. (As a refresher: Jennifer Lopez clocked in 12 in 2015; Gigi Hadid had six last year.) In total, Ellis Ross donned 11 separate lewks throughout the broadcast, each one instantly iconic.     Easy Halloween Costumes You Can Put Together From a Single Zara Haul


    The art of the clever Halloween costume is highly underrated; the incredible skill needed to pull off an on-point, creative get-up with minimal effort, even more so. Ease is arguably more crucial year, since the season two premiere of Stranger Things is slated for the Friday before October 31—which means we’re spending the weeks leading up to it planning our binge-watching rather than brainstorming our wardrobes. (And, no, we’re not just going to re-wear our Eleven costumes from last year… at least, not all weekend.)

    Instead, we’re looking to the places we already shop to source our festive get-ups. And, just as always when we need new clothes in a pinch, Zara is proving to be a surprisingly solid option for easy Halloween costumes.     Here's Every Single Item From the H&M x Erdem Collaboration


    Every H&M collaboration possesses the same few traits: a buzzy designer, a selection of limited-edition pieces that feel instantly collectible, a crazed launch, and a high probability of seeing the pieces pop up on the resale market at however-many-times the original price. From the looks of it, the fast-fashion retailer’s latest pair-up, with beloved British brand Erdem, will be no different. The collection, which launches November 2, has a total of 83 pieces spanning womenswear, menswear, and accessories, which riff off some of the prints and silhouettes designer Erdem Moralioglu has become known for at his namesake brand, including dreamy florals, elegant lace, high necks, and long sleeves. Prices start at $29.99 for accessories and cap out at $299 for some of the collections most intricate—and probably sought-after—pieces, such as the floral gowns and tailored coats.

    Did Taylor Swift Just Sneak Her Next Single Into This UPS Commercial?


    Taylor Swift certainly kicked off the Reputation era with a bang. She teased and announced the new album, released two singles, and dropped one music video all within 12 days. That all gave us pleeenty to talk and theorize about, but there hasn’t been anything else from the singer since the beginning of September, other than some behind-the-scenes videos from the ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ video. With a little over a month left before the full album comes out, we’ll likely get at least one more single before then. And in typical Taylor fashion, we’ll likely have no clue when it’s coming. But! Thanks to some superfan sleuthing, we might have already gotten a teaser of her next song without realizing it.

    Part of her rollout for Reputation included a partnership with UPS as the “official delivery partner” of her new album, complete with Swift-branded trucks driving around various cities in the US.

    Then, UPS released a video to announce the partnership that features a Reputation-era Taylor packing up a box while the instrumentals from LWYMMD plays in the background. UPS uploaded another Taylor-related video last week (which, we’d like to point out, is labeled as “Unlisted” on YouTube, which may mean no one was supposed to find this video yet) that features an electronic background track with what sounds like sped-up female vocals.     So of course, a tech-savvy Swiftie slowed down the track and, yep, it does sound a lot like Taylor, specifically Taylor singing the words “rip off the page.” So naturally people are now convinced Taylor’s next single will be called “Rip Off the Page.” Check it out for yourself:

    Now, we won’t get carried away and say that’s the next single with confidence, but this theory stands up pretty well.

    1. Why would UPS play another artist’s song in a video about Taylor Swift when they have this huge partnership with her? And since it’s a song with lyrics, it’s not just random stock music.

    2. Since the video is “Unlisted” and not currently on UPS’s public profile, it’s got us thinking this may have been a mistake anyone found it at all and was just uploaded in advance of it being promoted. Which might mean this theoretical new single is being released soon.

    3. We all know Taylor Swift is the most detail-oriented person alive and nothing she does is an accident. So we honestly doubt she approved a video without hyper-specifying the exact music used. But whether she approved this under-the-radar release of the video is yet to be seen.

    Unfortunately, we’ll just have to wait and see when Taylor wants to actually release her next single, but until then we’ll be listening to this 24-second clip of what’s sure to be a total bop.
