Robin Arryn Had a Major Glow-Up on Game of Thrones, and Fans Are Living

There were plenty of loose ends to tie up on Sunday night’s Game of Thrones series finale, including finding out who would live and who would die. One of the biggest questions, though, was figuring out who would get the Iron Throne. Interestingly, the most surprising reveal during that sequence wasn’t actually who got the Iron Throne—though that was shocking—but seeing one character’s major glow-up from past seasons. That character? Robin Arryn, played by Lino Facioli.

In case y’all forgot, Robin Arryn is Sansa, Arya, and Bran Stark’s cousin, and he is also now Lord of the Vale. When we first met Robin in season four, he was basically the worst. He was entitled, spoiled, and rude to Sansa after she’d escaped the evil clutches of the Lannisters. It was hard to find any redeeming qualities in him.

Cut to the GoT series finale, specifically the scene where the lords and ladies of the Seven Kingdoms gather to decide on the future of Westeros. As the camera panned around the council, some viewers immediately did a double-take as grown Robin was revealed to us.

In a Neville Longbottom-esque twist of fate, Robin got hot, and apparently got his leadership skills together to take on a position of power. Viewers quickly took notice, too, celebrating just how good puberty had been to the once-irritating character. The powerful stare, the perfectly-coiffed hair, the clothes, the swagger: Robin is now officially snack, and the GoT fandom is taking it as a consolation prize for the otherwise-polarizing series finale.

Eighteen-year-old Lino Facioli, who refers to himself as “that weird kid on Game of Thrones” in his Instagram bio, took a moment to celebrate his return during the show’s finale with some before-and-after-pics of his character. “9 years ago I had the honor of being invited to work in this incredible series,” Facioli wrote. “It’s been a wonderful adventure and I’m so, so thankful for having been able to be a part of it!”

Robin Roberts Tells Omarosa Manigault Newton 'Bye, Felicia' on Good Morning America

Yesterday, it was announced that former Apprentice contestant Omarosa Manigault Newman had resigned her role in the Trump administration, effective January 20, 2018—according to a statement from press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders. But this being the Trump administration, nothing is quite that simple. Reports started to emerge that Manigault Newman had been physically removed from the premises because she attempted to enter the residence after she was fired by chief of staff John Kelly.

This morning, she talked to Good Morning America to (kind of) tell her side of the story. In a (pre-taped) sit-down with Michael Strahan, Manigault Newman insisted that she was not fired but indeed did resign to John Kelly during a meeting in the situation room, not the residence. As she explained, “John Kelly and I had a very straightforward discussion about concerns that I had, issues that I raised and, as a result, I resigned.” She went on to say that there “were a lot of things that I observed during the last year that I was very unhappy with” but did not expand further when pressed by Strahan.

Another detail that complicates the story further is a series of tweets from the Secret Service that state that they had nothing to do with escorting her out of the White House but that they had deactivated her access, which Strahan points out seems strange if she’s still working until January.

Honestly, it’s really hard to discern who is telling the truth with most news coming out of the White House, but Omarosa Manigault Newman did tell Strahan that she has a “profound” story to tell once she is no longer part of the administration and that many things made her “uncomfortable.”

This did not sit well with Robin Roberts as they cut back to her at the GMA desk, prompting the response, “She says she has a story to tell, and I’m sure she’ll be selling that story. Bye, Felicia.”

Twitter, naturally, could not get enough of Roberts’ diss.

So thank you, Robin Roberts, for making Twitter fun again for a brief moment this morning.

Twitter Is Ready for Robin Wright to Take Over 'House of Cards' After Netflix Fired Kevin Spacey

The first of several sexual assault and harassment allegations against House of Cards star Kevin Spacey broke on Sunday when Star Trek: Discovery actor Anthony Rapp alleged that Spacey made an inappropriate sexual advance toward him when he was 14 and Spacey was 26. Since then, eight current and former House of Cards employees have come forward anonymously, alleging they experienced inappropriate sexual conduct from Spacey on the Netflix show’s set. In the wake of these allegations and others, production on the show’s next season has been suspended, and Netflix fired Spacey from the show on Friday. (Netflix has also canceled an upcoming Gore Vidal biopic he starred in and produced.)

Spacey’s firing has left the question of what to do with the final season of the hit show now that the central character is gone. He played Frank Underwood, a politician manipulating his way to the Oval Office and eventually succeeding in his journey. But fans think a new lead character could be a reasonable way to wrap the series—and their vote goes to the frosty, calculating Claire Underwood, Frank’s co-conspiring wife and politician in her own right, who is played on the show by Robin Wright.

The employees who worked with Spacey on the set of House of Cards told CNN that the star created a toxic work environment. One employee alleged he was sexually assaulted by Spacey. “I have no doubt that this type of predatory behavior was routine for him and that my experience was one of many and that Kevin had few if any qualms about exploiting his status and position,” he told CNN. “It was a toxic environment for young men who had to interact with him at all in the crew, cast, background actors.”

House of Cards‘s production is currently suspended to allow writers to rework the show’s final season and write out Spacey’s character, according to what sources have told The Hollywood Reporter.

In the meantime, fans are making their voices heard on Twitter. They don’t want the show to be canceled; instead, they want season six to begin with Wright’s character, Claire, explaining that her husband has died, and she’s taking over the White House.

It’s official: Twitter is voting for Claire Underwood 2018.
