Reese Witherspoon Still Has all 77 Pairs of Shoes From 'Legally Blonde 2'

Everyone’s constantly reliving the legendary film Legally Blonde: Ariana Grande honored the movie in “Thank U Next” and Kim Kardashian paid homage to Elle Woods with an epic Halloween costume. But Reese Witherspoon is still the best Elle Woods there is—especially because Witherspoon recently revealed she even has the iconic wardrobe to back up her performance. She shared that after Legally Blonde 2 wrapped, she got to keep the clothes from the set, including all 77 (!) pairs of shoes that Woods wears in the movie.

Appearing on The Graham Norton show this week, Witherspoon admitted that she currently has all of the footwear from Legally Blonde 2 casually laying around in her closet. “How many pairs of Jimmy Choos?” host Graham Norton asked her. The actress, who was sitting next to a shocked Jennifer Anniston, responded it was, “like 77.” She added, “I had it written in my contract…I have all of them.”

Even though she has all of them, she hasn’t been putting too many Elle Woods outfits together lately. She explained, “I’ve never touched them [in real life] and then on the 15th anniversary I took them all out of storage and tried them all on. Some of them fit, some of them didn’t, and then I showed them all to my daughter and it was really cool.”

Witherspoon has confirmed that Legally Blonde 3 is on its way, which means we’re going to have another chance to see some more brilliantly pink Elle costumes. Maybe a few pairs of the shoes Witherspoon has will make an appearance in the latest installment; we have a few favorites we wouldn’t mind seeing again, including the bright red boots, the fuzzy slippers, and the glittering sandals that she paired with her Jackie O-inspired outfit.

18 Best Pairs of Cargo Pants For Women

There are very few fashion terms that evoke as much disgust as “cargo pants.” Ask someone—anyone—how they feel about them, and they’ll probably make a face at you, having been reminded of suburban dads on vacation or regrettable outfits from the late ’90s. It’s easy to understand why people are turned off by them in present day: They’re baggy, always look crumpled, and normally come in that divisive low rise. But much like bulky white sneakers and fanny packs, cargo pants’ association with a “dad wardrobe” means they’re due for a resurgence among fashion types. And it’s already started to manifest.

I.AM.GIA, which has a track record for creating “It” items that quickly rise to Instagram fame (like its Pixie Teddy Coat), has released its own interpretation of the cargo pant. Called the Cobain Relaxed Fit Pant, it has already been worn by trend-setters like Emily Ratajkowski, Kourtney Kardashian, and Bella Hadid. (All three have played a role in elevating controversial trends like micro sunglasses and mini bags, so this is very on-brand.)

Though Ratajkowski, Kardashian, and Hadid all wore their cargo pants with crop tops, the Spring 2019 runways during Fashion Week presented some alternative ways to style them. At Prabal Gurung, models wore them with plaid blazers; and at Jonathan Simkhai, they were paired with frilly corsets. The pairings were not just unexpected: They proved that the slouchy bottoms were the perfect antidote for more structured, sophisticated pieces. Plus, given how small handbags are nowadays, we could use all the additional storage space we can get.

While designers like Nanushka and Isabel Marant offer high-end cargo pants, there are also plenty of affordable options at the likes of Free People and & Other Stories. So if the thought of revisiting cargo pants has even crossed your mind recently, now’s the time to indulge. Check out 18 of our favorites, ahead.

40 Best Pairs of Pants for Spring That Aren't Jeans

If you were paying close attention to the collections for spring when they hit the runway, pants didn’t really seem like they’d be a big thing come 2019—in fact, they didn’t seem like they’d be a thing at all. Models at Prada wore just grandma panties under black sheer dresses, at Dries Van Noten neon briefs could be seen underneath see-through floral gowns, and at Gucci men wore jockstraps over suits. On the streets, influencers convinced onlookers that bike shorts can be worn out of spinning class (and with blazers no less). The look of no pants (or kinda-sorta-pants) is provocative for sure. It’s a statement that in these times of #MeToo, women shouldn’t have to hide, be afraid to show skin, or be sexy and own it. But it’s also obviously a metaphor, not necessarily something that’s the most practical or acceptable for real every day life. Wearing pants to work is pretty much an unwritten requirement.

But what if you don’t want to wear jeans? Contrary to what the trend forecasters might have led us to believe, this season there are more exciting pants to wear than ever. From zebra print to leather, here we break down five of the biggest pant trends that’ll have you wanting to give your trusty mom jeans a day off.

The Madewell Jeans I Own Three Pairs of Are On Sale Right Now

My Gmail inbox currently has 21,087 unread messages. Inbox Zero people often ask me how I function, and I assure them it’s mostly where junk emails go to die—but amid the graveyard of Seamless notifications, Verizon bills, and shopping newsletters, there’s one subject line that never fails to actually make me click: “Madewell Sale.”

I’m very much a sucker for the Madewell aesthetic. I gravitate toward a quirky logo tee, oversized jacket, and leather slides like a Kardashian does to spandex. What I can’t stop buying religiously, though, are its jeans—specifically, its high-rise skinnies. Now, I realize in the era of moreismore denim, this is a relatively boring obsession. But what I can say? The heart wants what it wants, and for me, that’s a pair of really stretchy (but never baggy) black skinny jeans.

Luckily, Madewell offers sales on the reg. Discounts on denim, however, are usually more few and far between—which is why when the news about its Insiders Event (which is running now through Monday) hit my inbox, it immediately grabbed my attention.

If you’re a Madewell Insider (if you’re not, it’s free to sign up for), everything is 15-percent off, even denim and leather. That means my one true denim love, the 9″ High-Rise Skinny Jeans, are $20 off.

These jeans aren’t trendy or flashy, but they’re incredibly reliable: They fit curvy and straight frames, thanks to the below-your-belly-button rise and “Magic Pockets” that keep the front from bunching. And because they’re so simple, they make the perfect foundation to anything: Add a blousy, puff-sleeve top; or a coat and shoes you really want to show off. The denim is so soft and comfortable, sometimes I don’t even take them off when I get home, which is really saying something.

They also come in Madewell’s new extended sizes. I teeter between a 12 and 14, and where finding a pair in stock at the end of the spectrum used to be tougher, the fits now go up to a denim size 37. Plus, if you’re short like me (5’3″) and you buy them in-store, they’ll tailor them for you. (Although lately, I’ve just been cutting off the hems myself so they’re more bedraggled, which I think makes them look a tiny bit cooler.)

I wear my Madewell jeans so often, I cycle through a pair about every four months, until the fabric wears down at the inner-thigh and rips. I’ve started buying them in bulk so I can rotate the time in between wearing them. I get that having to buy a new pair of jeans every season sounds a like huge inconvenience—and it is. But here’s where Madewell has it going for itself: If you bring your jeans back in with a receipt (which they give you the option to email to yourself so you don’t lose it), the brand will let you exchange them for a new pair. And in the five years I’ve been shopping there, I’ve never once had a problem.

Sure, digging the receipt out of my inbox takes forever for obvious reasons, but it’s a small cost to pay. Now excuse me, I have some shopping to do.
