Selena Gomez Is Living Her Best Life at Her Cousin's Bachelorette Party in Mexico

Selena Gomez has truly been back in action after taking a mental health break last year: She recently wrapped up a zombie movie with Bill Murray, she walked her first few red carpets in a while, and she’s even helped design some bathing suits for her friend’s swimwear line. However, she’s still making sure to enjoy time off with friends and family. On Friday, her bud Theresa Marie Mingus posted a photo of Gomez hanging out in Mexico for her cousin Priscilla DeLeon’s bachelorette party, showing that she’s still making it a priority to kick back and relax.

The photo shows Gomez, Mingus, and DeLeon lounging poolside in a cabana in Puerto Vallarta, where they are reportedly celebrating DeLeon’s engagement. DeLeon is getting ready to tie the knot with her fiancé Jay Cosme, who popped the question back in 2016. “My fam is getting married,” Mingus captioned the post with a crying emoji.

DeLeon chronicled some of the bachelorette adventures on her own social media. She shared photos of her bridal crew riding ATVs, and later she uploaded an image of herself on the beach in a white bikini and a veil.

Gomez has updated her followers with her cousin’s happy news few times on her own Instagram. When DeLeon first got engaged, Gomez published an emotional picture of the two of them together, writing, “We have waited our whole lives for this.” In a black-and-white shot of Gomez, DeLeon revealed that she’d asked the singer to be her maid of honor.

There’s no doubt that Gomez is going to be a great maid of honor—she’s already shown she has excellent planning skills when it comes to celebrations from friends and family. She threw her bud Courtney Barry a gorgeous bridal shower in Texas this January, after all—and she hosted an adorable birthday party for her other friend Raquelle Steven in March.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Will Reportedly Travel to Mexico to Meet Her Father

Now that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have made it official (in front of the queen, Oprah, and the rest of the world), it looks like it’s finally time for him to meet Markle’s father, Thomas. If you somehow forgot, Thomas was initially supposed to walk Meghan down the aisle at her May 19 royal wedding, but after a paparazzi scandal and subsequent health problems, he was unable to attend. Now that he’s in recovery post-surgery, though, it seems the Duke and Duchess of Sussex may be planning a visit to his home in Mexico.

“I hear one of the things they want to do sooner than later — and now that they’re married — is to go and see Thomas Markle, who is recovering from a heart operation,” royal expert Katie Nicholl told Entertainment Tonight. “We don’t know when this trip might happen. … I’m hearing from people close to Meghan and Harry that they’re very keen to do it.”

Understandably, Prince Harry reportedly “feels it’s very important that he gets to meet Thomas,” (according to Nicholl). She added, “Of course, Meghan — who’s been really concerned about her father’s health — is keen to go see him as soon as possible.”

Meanwhile, Prince Harry has spent time with his mother-in-law, Doria Ragland, who was at the royal wedding and spent the preceding days getting to know Prince Charles and Queen Elizabeth. In the couple’s engagement interview, Prince Harry called Ragland “amazing.” In the same interview, Markle confirmed that her husband-to-be had not met her dad. “He’s talked to my dad a few times, hasn’t been able to meet him just yet, but it’s all been — it’s all been worth every effort,” she said.

Of course, it makes sense that Prince Harry is eager to meet this father-in-law, especially in the wake of what happened in the weeks leading up to the wedding. And it’s likely the feeling is mutual. Thomas issued a heartbreaking statement on the day of the wedding, expressing his regret for not being there to walk his daughter down the aisle. “The service was beautiful and it’s history. I will always regret not being able to be there and not being able to hold my daughter’s hand,” he told TMZ. “… Now I pray that Harry and Meghan can go on a nice honeymoon and rest and relax, and all of my relatives will just shut up about everything.”

Salma Hayek Has Raised Over $250,000 for Mexico Earthquake Victims

The magnitude 7.1 earthquake that killed at least 230 people in Mexico this week hit close to home for Salma Hayek, who lost friends and an uncle in another earthquake that hit the country in 1985.

That’s why the actress created a CrowdRise page to raise money for Unicef, which has sent people to help with relief in Mexico. The campaign has already raised more than $250,000, and Hayek has donated $100,000 herself.

“I have lived through the aftermath of a disaster of this magnitude, and it’s horrific,” she says in a video supporting the campaign. “I am starting a CrowdRise to try to raise money to help the families that are going through this nightmare right now in Mexico. I implore to your hearts, to the goodness of your hearts, to your compassion, to help.”

Other celebrities including Beyoncé, Britney Spears, and Shay Mitchell have shown support for the earthquake’s victims on social media.

Former President Barack Obama tweeted a message of support too.

Rescue efforts are still underway to reach survivors of Tuesday’s earthquake. On Thursday rescuers were trying to reach a 12-year-old girl believed to be trapped inside the remains of a Mexico City school that collapsed, killing at least 21 children and five adults, according to the BBC.

If you want to help the region recover from the natural disaster, organizations currently taking donations include the rescue brigade Topos México, the Mexican Red Cross, and the humanitarian aid group Direct Relief.
