Fuller House Debuts Its Fifth Season Trailer — Without Lori Loughlin


The first trailer for the fifth and final season of Fuller House is finally here. Though it teases lots of family-friendly fun, fans were quick to notice it’s missing one important thing: any mention of Aunt Becky.

Lori Loughlin famously portrayed Aunt Becky in the early ’90s classic TV show, Full House and then reprised her role in the Netflix revival, Fuller House. However, things hit a snag for Loughlin when it was revealed that she allegedly paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to scam her children’s way into the University of Southern California. Loughlin is now facing an impending court battle and has pleaded not guilty.

The season five trailer picks up right where season four left off with the Tanner crew. In the clips, Stephanie Tanner (played by Jodie Sweetin) and Jimmy Gibbler (played by Adam Hagenbuch) finally get to bring home their new daughter, who happened to be carried by surrogate Kimmy Gibbler (played by Andrea Barber).

The trailer also gives fans a sneak-peek at what’s to come for D.J. Tanner (played by Candace Cameron Bure) and her on-again high school sweetheart Steve Hale (played by Scott Weinger)—something that truly made every fan of the original show giddy. But, that’s not all. In the two-minute trailer, fans also catch a glimpse of the rest of the OG cast including Bob Saget, Dave Coulier, and John Stamos. AKA, everyone but Loughlin.

“It was really sad, and we could feel her absence,” Barber told People about Loughlin’s absence during the final season of filming. “It just felt like there was a hole in the whole season but also in that final episode. She should’ve been there, and I’m sorry that she wasn’t.”

And, in a recent Instagram post, Bure stopped short of supporting Loughlin in her court battle; however, the actress did explain that the bonds run deep with the entire Full House cast.

“We’ve had these friendships for more than 30 years and it’s just sad to leave them,” she said. “Have tears with us and hug along with us, because that’s kind of what we need, is the comfort and the love.”

If you’ve ever admired that bronzy, sun-kissed California makeup look celebrated by, well, basically everyone, chances are you’ve got Lori Taylor Davis to thank: the global pro artist for Los Angeles-based Smashbox (and a born and raised Angeleno herself), Davis has been creating her signature glowy, natural looks all around the world for over two decades. She’s also a beauty enthusiast to the core and has been since childhood. “My entrée into makeup was through my two grandmothers. They were my personal beauty influencers,” says Davis. “They both had trays of perfumes, Avon lipsticks…they were full-on glamazons. One of my grandmothers would wear incredible lashes and wigs, like a little Diana Ross. My first makeup came from her. Of course, it was makeup designed for someone much older than me and the colors weren’t right, but I would literally go to school in a full beat.” That beauty curiosity and infectious enthusiasm is instantly apparent when Davis runs through her regimen, whether she’s detailing her handmade Ayurvedic hair oil recipe, her latest Smashbox loves, her treatment splurges, or her “seven layer dip” skin-care routine.

My shower routine: $295

My poor husband has no room for his things in the shower. We have five tiers of products in the shower, and I fill up every shelf! For my body, I use a neem oil soap ($5) that’s super-natural and really moisturizing. For shower gel, I go between Dr. Bronner’s Almond Castile Soap ($11) and a body wash from that new brand Nécessaire ($25). It smells so good: like eucalyptus but not overpowering, and also somehow very fresh and citrusy. I love that scent. Sometimes I use a scrub from Mario Badescu ($26) to exfoliate, and I also like to wash with a natural sea sponge ($10) or a scrubby mitt—I always see the ladies at the Korean spa using them, and I can get a bunch for something like $1 each on eBay.

Because I have naturally curly hair I don’t necessarily shampoo that often, but I do always work in some kind of conditioner every time I shower. For natural hair you always want to have the right amount of moisture, and you want to get a good curl pattern after you wash. My friend is into Ayurvedic skin care, so I have a special custom oil blend that I mix up myself and put into all my conditioners (read my recipe for it below). I add it into every conditioner I own, and sometimes I’ll just apply some of the oil mixture directly onto my roots. That’s my one little secret-secret potion—that oil is like my superhero costume for my hair, and it makes my hair a lot healthier. The conditioner I currently use is Bumble Bb Curl conditioner ($34). It’s not too heavy, but it still manages to do a lot for my curls. I shampoo twice a week at the absolute most—for my hair, the conditioner plus my oil potion sort of is the wash, it’s a co-wash. When I do shampoo every so often, I use Living Proof ($27).

The Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman College Cheating Scandal Is Too Fascinating


When I turned on my computer this morning, the last story I expected to see was “Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman Are Involved in a College Admissions Scandal,” but here we are. It’s 2019, and Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman are very much involved in a college admissions scandal.

Here’s what’s going on, according to CNN: A group of wealthy parents allegedly paid a college prep organization to take the SAT/ACT entrance exams on behalf of their children or to correct their answers. There’s also a second part to this scheme, in which college coaches were allegedly bribed into admitting wealthy students as recruited athletes, regardless of their actual abilities. Some defendants even had fake profiles created to make their children look like successful athletes, according to court documents.

Per TMZ, this was all funneled through a man named William Rick Singer, who would take parents’ requests—either to fix test scores or create fake athlete profiles—and contact the appropriate parties.

Fifty people total were arrested in this case, which federal prosecutors called Operation Varsity Blues: Two SAT/ACT administrators, one exam proctor, nine coaches at elite schools, one college administrator, and 33 parents with privileged backgrounds.

According to TMZ, Huffman, who played Lynette Scavo on Desperate Housewives, has been arrested but will be released on bond with the promise to appear in court. She’s specifically charged with felony conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud, per court papers. CNN reports Huffman is accused of paying $15,000 to an organization that helped her daughter cheat on the SATs.

Loughlin, best known as Aunt Becky on Full House, has the same charges against her. She and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, allegedly paid $500,000 to have their two daughters billed as recruits for the University of Southern California crew team, even though neither of them participates in the sport.

“There can be no separate college admissions system for the wealthy,” U.S. attorney for Massachusetts Andrew Lelling said at a press conference Tuesday, March 12. “And I will add there will not be a separate criminal justice system either.”

People, naturally, have so many thoughts about this case—and the Desperate Housewives and Full House jokes keep rolling in. Below, check out just a few reactions to this truly bonkers situation. We’ll update our post with more information as it comes in.

On Wednesday, 24 hours after news of the scandal broke, Lori Loughlin was arrested in Los Angeles after taking an overnight flight back to California from Canada. She faces a felony charge of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud.

On Thursday, March 14, Hallmark announced it was ending its working relationship with Loughlin, who’s been a mainstay on the network for years. “We are saddened by the recent news surrounding the college admissions allegations,” Hallmark’s parent company Crown Media said in a statement, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “We are no longer working with Lori Loughlin and have stopped development of all productions that air on the Crown Media Family Network channels involving Lori Loughlin, including Garage Sale Mysteries, an independent third-party production.”
