*Saved by the Bell* Star Tiffani Thiessen Almost Played Rachel on *Friends*

It’s hard to imagine anyone other than Jennifer Aniston playing Rachel on Friends, but apparently fans came very close to having an entirely different ’90s icon arguing on-screen with Ross over whether they were “on a break.”

In a new interview on Nikki Glaser’s podcast, You Up, Saved by the Bell star Tiffani Thiessen, a.k.a. Kelly Kapowski, revealed that she had auditioned for the role of Rachel. “Do you know I tested for Friends for Jennifer Aniston? I did,” she said.

Sadly, Thiessen wasn’t the right fit, she said, because she wasn’t quite as old as the rest of the cast members. “I was just a little too young,” she continued. “A little too young to the pairing of the rest of them.”

“That makes sense to me, because you are both such amazing comedic actresses,” Glaser told Thiesen, and the Saved by the Bell star agrees that Jennifer Aniston is “very, very funny.”

Thiessen isn’t the only star who almost replaced one of the core six in their spots on the Central Perk couches. 30 Rock‘s Jane Krakowski also auditioned for the part of Rachel, and Will and Grace‘s Eric McCormack tried out for Ross. Vince Vaughn tried out for Joey, Jon Cryer for Chandler, Leah Remini for Monica, and Kathy Griffin for Phoebe. Let’s just say Friends could easily have been a completely different show.

Though she didn’t wind up living in the iconic purple-walled apartment alongside Monica and the rest of the gang, Thiessen is now starring in a new sitcom on Netflix called Alexa & Katie, out now. All’s well that ends well.

Matt Damon Played a Belligerent Brett Kavanaugh on *SNL*'s 44th Season Premiere

Saturday Night Live‘s 44th season premiered last night, and the show went in hard with its commentary on this week’s Kavanaugh hearings—starting right from the beginning.

For its cold open, the show tapped Matt Damon, a man who has found his foot in his mouth for his comments about #MeToo, to portray Judge Brett Kavanaugh during his hearing in front of the confirmation committee. His parody of the Supreme Court nominee was nothing short of spot on—but that doesn’t mean it didn’t also make us cringe.

“I’m gonna start at an 11, and I’m gonna take it to a 15,” Damon-as-Kavanaugh begins—then spends the next 13 minutes sniffing incessantly, aggressively turning the pages of his notes, and talking about his friends “PJ,” “Tobin,” and “Squi.” There’s also the tearful submission of his “beautiful, creepy calendars” into evidence, and a whole lot of references to his love of ‘skis. “

“I was the proudest, drunkest virgin you’ve ever seen,” he boasted at one point.

“I’m usually an optimist, I’m a keg-is-half-full kind of guy,” Damon-as-Kavanaugh continued. “But what I’ve seen from the monsters on this committee has made me want to puke, and not from beer.”

Senators Hatch, Grassle, Feinstein, Klobuchar and Graham all make their own appearances as played by SNL cast members, as does “female prosecutor” Rachel Mitchell (Aidy Bryant), who is “only there for Twitter”—and for Senator Hatch to hide behind “like a human shield.” Alyssa Milano shows up, too, in the form of a cardboard cut-out who’s really good at “finding her lens.”

Some of it brought a smile after a long week of news, but some of it hit a little close to home. At one point Damon exclaims, “I’m not backing down you, sons of bitches; I don’t know the meaning of the word ‘stop.'”

The cold open was just the beginning of SNL‘s all-in approach to the Kavanaugh hearings. The show’s “Weekend Update” segment began with a series of clips that showed Judge Kavanaugh talking about how much he liked beer and working out while he was in high school. After it played, co-anchor Colin Jost commented, “I’ve gotta say, you’re not really helping yourself in a drunken assault case when you yell about how much you like drinking and how strong you were at the time.”

In a later clip, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg (Kate McKinnon) shows up to comment on the hearings. “He thinks his confirmation hearing was unfair?” she asks, “My confirmation hearing was they threw me in a river to see if I float. And I did! I floated on top like a little waterbug!”

There was also a pretty unsettling sketch about an alcohol and drug-fueled college party in the ’80s. Although it made no direct reference to Kavanaugh, it alluded to some of the themes of assault and youth party culture that have been at the forefront of conversations surrounding his hearing this week.

Things got even weirder during the show, but safe to say this is a premiere we won’t be forgetting anytime soon.

Khloé Kardashian Played Super Coy When Asked About Kylie Jenner's Pregnancy Rumors

Two-thirds of the Kardashian-Jenner pregnancy mysteries are solved. In September, Kim Kardashian confirmed she and Kanye West are having their third child via surrogate. Three months later, Khloé Kardashian revealed she is expecting her first baby ever with basketball-player boyfriend Tristan Thompson. However, Kylie Jenner is still keeping mum about rumors that she’s also pregnant. Save for calling her new lip kits “babies” in a video a few months ago, Kylie’s doing an excellent job at keeping people in the dark about this whole thing. Sure, her sisters may have come to her defense a few times when the speculation got out of hand, but Kylie’s yet to confirm the actual news. We straight-up don’t know if she’s pregnant yet.

And Khloé’s new interview with Ellen DeGeneres doesn’t bring us any closer to the truth, either. The Good American entrepreneur sat down with DeGeneres this week to talk about her newly-announced pregnancy, but obviously the conversation pivoted to Kylie.

“Is Kylie craving things yet?” DeGeneres asked Khloé, to which she responded, “What do you mean?”

“She’s pregnant,” DeGeneres said. Khloé, naturally, played coy at this. “Oh, I don’t know what you’re taking about,” she said.

DeGeneres didn’t back down, though. “Come on now,” she said, but Khloé bounced right back and said, “Come on, Ellen.”

“Why wasn’t she on the Christmas card?” DeGeneres then asked. “Um, I don’t know. You gotta ask Kylie,” Khloe said. “Why don’t you get Kylie on the show?”

This banter went on for a few more seconds before DeGeneres said, “She must be pregnant. There’s too much secrecy around it. Look at your eyes! Y’all, she’s pregnant…I will make a bet right now that she is pregnant. I can tell by her eyes.”

They never reached a resolution, of course. Khloé just kept smiling and calling DeGeneres “cute.” Bahhh, the madness continues. Watch all of this go down:

Unfortunately, it looks like we won’t receive anything more concrete until Kylie herself says something—probably on Snapchat.

Serena Williams Just Played Her First Tennis Match After Giving Birth 3 Months Ago

Most of us had a pretty bleh 2017, but Serena Williams, champion in every sense of the word, managed to have a pretty spectacular year. She got married and had a baby and is still considered the best tennis player on the planet. So does it matter that she lost her final match of 2017 and her first since giving birth? Not one bit.

“I don’t think I am going to rate my performance,” she told the AP, per Vanity Fair. “I have plenty of comebacks, from injuries, from surgeries, but I’ve never had a comeback after actually giving birth to a human being. So, in my eyes, I feel it was a wonderful, wonderful match for me.”

The match in question was an exhibition game at the Mubadala World Tennis Championship, and the winner was French Open champion Jelena Ostapenko. Williams said of her return to the game overall, “I don’t know if I am totally ready to come back on the tour yet …I know that when I come back I definitely want to be competing for championships. I am definitely looking forward to getting back out there. I am taking it one day at a time. I am going to assess everything with my team before deciding.” Fair enough.

“I don’t think I have anything more left to prove,” said Williams, referencing her dozens of grand slam titles and trove of gold medals. But she’s not done with tennis yet, and the first step was just getting back on the court. “In the beginning, it felt a little tough. But as the match moved on, I was less afraid. I knew I was not going to fall over and break,” she said.

It’s not like she was gone for too long, actually. Williams’ break from the game started in January, when she was already several weeks pregnant with her daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr., so she’s beginning and ending 2017 as a tennis player. And she managed to squeeze in a wedding to the Alexis Ohanian, founder of Reddit.

She even achieved the most rare and elusive award of all: an Instagram shout-out from her close friend Beyoncé.

The 'This Is Us' Cast Played 'Never Have I Ever,' and It Got Weird

PHOTO: TheEllenShow/Youtube

Every Tuesday night, This is Us makes us laugh, cry, and say “aw.” And apparently the same goes when the cast reunites IRL. The latest adorable Pearson family moment comes to us by way of Ellen DeGeneres’s Youtube show, “Ellen’s Show Me More Show,” where Milo Ventimiglia, Mandy Moore, and Sterling K. Brown played “Never Have I Ever.”

The two actors—who play father and son, Jack and Randall Pearson—immediately showed their TV wife and mom love with the first question, “Have you ever jammed out to a Mandy Moore song?” Turns out, the only person of the trio to say never was Mandy herself. While Milo and Sterling weren’t fully buying it, the thought of the two men listening to “Candy is honestly a beautiful visual.

Things get progressively more racy when the actors are asked if they ever had a sex dream about a co-star, to which Ventimiglia responds, “What job we talkin’ about?” (Ironically, he has an affinity for dating his on-screen love interests, including Hayden Panettiere and Alexis Bledel.) Brown takes it one step further, insinuating that he’s had “special” dreams about Moore, nuzzling in her in the ear and saying, “Oh mommy.” OK, one step too far, Sterling.

But because it’s the This Is Us cast, they had to end on an incredibly sappy note. As they all declare “never have I ever felt as close to cast mates as I have on this show,” both men kiss Moore on the cheek, as she says, “This is the best job I’ve ever had and that’s thanks in large part to you guys.” Is Dan Fogelman scripting their real life interactions now too?
