The Suits Cast Has Arrived in London for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Royal Wedding

While Meghan Markle prepares for the royal wedding on Saturday (May 19), her Suits family has arrived in London to celebrate their former co-star’s big day. First, her onscreen husband, played by Patrick J. Adams, touched down in England with his wife, Troian Bellisario, posting from The Royal Standard of England. It was previously reported that Adams is just one of about 25 people from Suits who have been invited to the big day, and in fact, a few of her former costars—Gina Torres, Sarah Rafferty, and Rick Hoffman—sat down with Today to discuss the event of the year.

“I hope, as we all do, nothing but the best for her. This is an incredible step in her life, so to bear witness to that is extraordinary,” Torres said. All three actors also revealed they knew about Markle and Prince Harry’s relationship before the general public did, but admitted that there were very few details shared. Hoffman, who plays Louis Litt on the show, says that he found out “quite early” and could not keep his cool. “It was both of us in a trailer and I was like, ‘Oh my! You’re going to be dating a prince?! And then I was just like, ‘Take it slow, be careful, don’t let him hurt you.'”

Rafferty referred to herself, Markle, and Torres as the “sister wives” and explained that the whole cast has a familial bond. “We were with each other longer than we went to college, longer than we were in high school, so we became family in some way,” she said. “We’re still family. So this is a nice family affair.”

Though the cast is invited to partake in the ceremony at St. George’s Chapel and the luncheon hosted by Queen Elizabeth II, they are reportedly not invited to the more exclusive reception, hosted by Prince Charles at Frogmore House. The decision was reportedly based on the couple’s “new life” as verified royals. “[The cast is] important to her, but she has a new inner circle of friends,” one source told Us Weekly. “The afternoon reception is for Meghan and Harry’s old circle and the evening establishes their new circle.”

Is Angelina Jolie Gong to the Royal Wedding? She Just Landed in London

Serena Williams, Priyanka Chopra…and now, Angelina Jolie?

The actress and philanthropist has just landed in London with two of her children, Shiloh and Knox Jolie-Pitt, and a bunch of luggage in tow, fueling speculation that she’s another member of the Hollywood elite attending the royal wedding. According to the Daily Mail, Angelina Jolie and her children arrived at Heathrow Airport on Thursday, just two days before the May 19 nuptials.

While Chopra and Williams (who cleared her schedule but has yet to confirm an invitation to the royal wedding) are both personal friends of Meghan Markle, the Daily Mail reports that the she and Jolie don’t appear to have any known connections. Jolie does, however, have links to the royal family. According to Harper’s Bazaar, Jolie was made an honorary dame by the queen last October for “her work fighting against the use of sexual violence as a weapon during periods of war.” The magazine also reported that Jolie and the queen have been collaborating on the queen’s Commonwealth Canopy, a project that seeks to build a worldwide conservation network.

Of course, there’s a chance that all of this is just a coincidence, and she’s in London for an entirely unrelated reason. The Daily Mail reported that Jolie’s been traveling to and from London to film the Maleficent sequel, which is disappointing for those hoping to see her at St. George’s Chapel on Saturday, but certainly reasonable. If Jolie does happen to attend, however, she’ll be in good company: In addition to Williams and Chopra, the Spice Girls and Sir Elton John are some of the other celebrities either confirmed or rumored to be showing up.

Men Behaved Pretty Much How You'd Expect at an All-Male Fundraiser in London

On Tuesday, the Financial Times published an exclusive story by writer Madison Marriage, who went undercover to report what really goes on inside an event known as the Presidents’ Club charity dinner at the Dorchester Hotel in London, which attracts hundreds of powerful men in business, politics, finance, and sports. It does not, however, appear to attract people particularly concerned with a few things known as #MeToo or Time’s Up.

Marriage—whose Twitter bio says is the Financial Times‘ accounting and tax correspondent—posed as a “hostess” for the evening and, according to the Financial Times, was met with over 300 tuxedo-clad men, as no women are allowed inside the event. That is, except for the 130-member hostess staff. And that staff, all required to be “tall, thin, and pretty,” were both verbally and physically harassed throughout the night. “Over the course of six hours, many of the hostesses were subjected to groping, lewd comments and repeated requests to join diners in bedrooms elsewhere in the Dorchester,” she wrote.

Other complaints Marriage heard from hostesses included how men allegedly reached up women’s skirts, and another who thought it was perfectly OK to expose his penis during the night.

Though really, Marriage noted, these actions could have been foreshadowed by a few of the charitable auction’s prizes, which included a night at a local strip club and a round of plastic surgery to “add spice to your wife.”

Even during their interviews for the gig, hostesses were reportedly told by Caroline Dandridge, founder of Artista, an agency that specializes in hiring women to staff these types of events, “Some girls love it, and for other girls, it’s the worst job of their life and they will never do it again . . . You just have to put up with the annoying men and if you can do that it’s fine.”

Not that fine, though: As one 19-year-old recounted to Marriage, an attendee nearing his 70s outright asked her if she was a prostitute. She replied that she was not and told Marriage, “I’ve never done this before, and I’m never doing it again.” She added. “It’s fucking scary.”

Marriage also added that a security guard was stationed outside the women’s bathroom, but it wasn’t for their protection, but rather to call out any women who took too much time inside, perhaps to compose themselves after being harassed, and forced them back into the ballroom to interact with male guests.

At the end of the night, the women were paid the equivalent of—wait for it—$210 for their troubles, along with a little extra for a cab ride home. For their part, the Dorchester Hotel claims it’s unaware of the alleged actions that took place at the event, and the Presidents Club also told the Financial Times that it “recently hosted its annual dinner, raising several million pounds for disadvantaged children. The organizers are appalled by the allegations of bad behavior at the event asserted by the Financial Times reporters. Such behavior is totally unacceptable. The allegations will be investigated fully and promptly and appropriate action taken.”
