So, About Those Rumors That Jay Cutler Cheated on Kristin Cavallari


Kristin Cavallari surprised fans on April 26 when she announced on Instagram that she and her former NFL quarterback husband, Jay Cutler, are getting a divorce. The couple has three children: sons Camden, 7, and Jaxon, 5, along with daughter Saylor, 4.

“With great sadness, after 10 years together we have come to a loving conclusion to get a divorce. We have nothing but love and respect for one another and are deeply grateful for the years shared, memories made, and the children we are so proud of,” she wrote. “This is just the situation of two people growing apart. We ask everyone to respect our privacy as we navigate this difficult time within our family.”

“Kristin and Jay had been having problems for a long time. They hadn’t spent much time together in recent months,” a source told People. This announcement, of course, immediately led to all sorts of speculation as to what caused the split—including lingering rumors Cutler had cheated on the former Laguna Beach and The Hills star.

Said rumors were even addressed on the latest season of their reality show, Very Cavallari. In case you missed it, there was talk of Jay Cutler having an affair with Kristin Cavallari’s longtime pal, Kelley Henderson, who also appeared on the show. The friends did have a falling out, but Cavallari insisted she did not believe the stories. People‘s source says the breakup has “absolutely nothing to do” with that storyline or cheating. “Kristin and Jay are a lot different. She has so much on her plate, with her brands and with the show,” the source said. “Jay is not as interested in all of that. She’s so passionate about her work and they couldn’t relate to each other as much. So it pulled them apart.”

Cutler’s persona on Very Cavallari was definitely one of a cranky husband—not that that’s any indication of cheating, obviously. “On their recent trip [to the Bahamas], they already knew they were splitting up,” the source who spoke to People said. “The reason they announced it now is because it’s a quiet time for them to work through all of this and try to move forward.”

Kristin Davis's Netflix Movie Holiday in the Wild Was Four Years in the Making


What do you think makes Holiday in the Wild stand out from all the other holiday movies coming out this year?

Kristin: The fact that it’s shot in Africa, number one. Even if we leave out the animal part, it’s just in a different setting. It’s more of a travel-adventure movie, in a way; it just happens to be a Christmas movie, but we’re having Christmas in a different place—which is nice. It makes you think about your own Christmas traditions, and then you look at other people’s Christmas traditions and think about them in a new way. Rob [Lowe] brings so much wry humor, which I don’t think you always get in a Christmas movie.

It does feel like the holiday movie genre is having a bit of a renaissance. Why do you think it’s so popular?

Kristin: I think people are very stressed. The world is a stressful place, and the holidays are a time when hopefully we get a little break from that stress. People want entertainment that gives them a good feeling. It’s a nice break. People want to be together; they want to watch things they can watch with the whole family. It’s a time that’s become more important because of the continual 24-hour news cycle and all the things going on in the world. All the difficulties.

Would you be open to doing another holiday movie?

Kristin: Of course! Holiday in the Wild sets the bar pretty high. I think now I’m just going to have to only do holiday movies with animals!

Like a sequel?

Kristin: A sequel would be amazing. I don’t know exactly what we would do or what would happen. For me, shooting in South Africa and Zambia and being able to be around elephants, which is one of my big loves of my life, and getting to write a love letter in the script to the people who take care of them, it really is a dream come true. I never really actually thought the film would get made, so it would be hard to live up to this one.

What did you most relate to with your character, Kate? She sends her son off to college and within seconds her husband leaves her. She goes through a lot just in the first 10 minutes of this movie.

Kristin: I responded to her having her eyes open on this trip she ends up taking by herself to a whole other world and a whole other way people are living and to this crisis of elephant poaching that she had no idea about. I responded to that because that’s very much like my own life.

When it comes to your own holiday pop-culture consumption, what are you looking for?

Kristin: I’m looking for something that I can watch with my daughter [Gemma Rose]. She loves Christmas, and when you have kids it’s all about their enjoyment.

How do you think Charlotte York from Sex and the City would take to Kate’s situation in Holiday in the Wild?

Kristin: I think she would be exactly like me! If for some horrible reason Harry left her—which I don’t think he would—and she was going on a single trip to Zambia and found an orphan elephant, I think she’d respond exactly the way that Kate does or that I did.

Kristin Ess Made a Curling Iron Like You’ve Never Seen Before


I’m a sucker for chic packaging. I also covet messy, undone, cool-girl hair, so like every other editor at the launch party for Kristin Ess‘s new hot tools line, it was love at first site. Ess, if you’re unfamiliar, caters to the hair of a long list of celebrities you’ve probably used as inspo for a haircut at some point: Jenna Dewan, Lucy Hale, and Lili Reinhart are all among her clients. The tools, like her low-maintenance hair care products, are both her super beautiful and affordable—nothing is over $100—and all available at Target.

The lineup features all the standards. There’s a dryer, flat irons, and curling irons of various sizes—all in a very Instagrammable white and rose gold palette, and all something you’d want to use. But the real standout is her Soft Wave Pivoting Wand Curling Iron. It’s got a 1¼ inch barrel, which is perfect for creating looser waves, and no clamp—like a typical wand. Where things get interesting, though—as the name states—is the fact that the barrel is able to pivot; meaning you can use it as a standard vertical wand, or you can click it into place at a 90 degree angle, converting it into a curling bar.

The iron is designed to pivot to take stress off your arms, and I definitely found it easier to work with than curlers I’ve used in the past. I’m not great at styling my hair and haven’t reached for a curling iron since prom, but using this one was shockingly simple.

I always end up either wrapping my hair too tightly or clamping it in a weird place, resulting in pageant curls or creases. But because of the angle, you’re almost forced to loosely drape your hair around the barrel, creating those cool beachy waves the women on Ess’s Instagram always have.

At the launch event, when the stylist used the iron on me, she actually wrapped my hair around the iron while twisting it (starting with the iron upright and ending with my hair around the barrel at 90 degrees), creating a softer effect she referred to as “bending,” instead of curling. I, however, am not as dexterous or talented, and found it much easier to just keep the iron bent except for when curling the part of my hair that frames my face—there, I use it like a regular wand. It does take a minute to get used to the shape (I burned my finger but I also neglected the included protective glove), but once I got the motions down, I was able to curl my whole head in about 15 minutes.

The results? Those perfect, messy, voluminous waves I’m always chasing. Maybe I’m a curling iron girl after all.

Kristin Davis Says It's 'Deeply Frustrating' That There Won't be a 'Sex and the City 3'

This week we heard some disappointing news: Sex and the City 3 isn’t happening. That’s right, Sarah Jessica Parker herself confirmed the news on Thursday, saying she’s disappointed the movie franchise based on the iconic HBO series is done. And SPJ wasn’t the only core cast member to express sour feelings: Kristin Davis is also unhappy that there won’t be another film.

The actress posted an Instagram Friday with two side-by-side photos of her character Charlotte—one at her most vulnerable and one where she’s predictably polished.

“I love to look back at the pics from our LONG history of Sex and the City. I am incredibly lucky to have gotten to play Charlotte through all of her ups and downs ( epitomized in one of my favorite episodes here). It is true that we are not going to be able to make a 3rd film. I wish that we could have made the final chapter, on our own terms, to complete the stories of our characters. It is deeply frustrating not to able to share that chapter (beautifully written by MPK) with all of you. So we will just have our memories, but please know that all of the love and support for us through the years is felt by us and we are so grateful for all of you!SATC forever in our hearts ❤️?❤️?❤️?❤️?”

Both Davis and Parker mentioned that there is a script kicking around for the third movie, it’s just not being made. Of course, there could be dozens of reasons it’s not happening. One theory is that Kim Catrall, who played Samantha, made too many demands about the movie which halted production, but she’s come forward on Twitter saying she just didn’t want to make a third film, plain and simple.

Fans have been asking for another SATC movie since the second one premiered, either because they can’t get enough of Carrie, Charlotte, Samantha, and Miranda or they can’t stand that Carrie and Big ended up together and they want to see if it really lasts. Sadly, we won’t get to know what happens next, but we can seek solace in the fact that there are 94 original TV episodes and over six hours of film to relive.
