Is Mike Johnson in a Relationship? Here's What the 'Bachelor in Paradise' Star Says About His Relationship Status

I’m not saying that I stayed all the way out of it. I wouldn’t say I’m not in any drama. I definitely wanted to stay out going into it. But I would say, being the man that my mom taught me to be—just being a good human being, a good person—helps to avoid a lot of conflict.

What’s your take, then, on the drama surrounding Hannah and Blake?

Hannah is such a sweet woman that I was kind of feeling bad for her because she’s growing and learning how to deal with, you know, letting someone down while on camera. You know, it’s not the easiest thing to do, but she handled herself well. You’ve got to continue to watch. With Dylan and Blake, I’m completely biased because Dylan’s my little brother. I love Dylan, and I tried to instill confidence in him and let him know that he has to speak things into existence and continue to go after Hannah.

I know you can’t share any spoilers, but what was your mindset leaving the show?

Great question. I’m happy that I went on Paradise. We’ll see in the near future what my Facebook relationship status is…

Speaking of relationship status, a lot of people would like to see you as the next Bachelor… What can you say about that?

I can say that it’s incredibly awesome and a great feeling that people even consider me or think I’ll be a great Bachelor. Quite honestly, that warms my spirit. Like, straight up.

Let’s just say for fun you’re single when you leave Paradise. What are you looking for in a partner?

I like core values. I like loyalty, ambition, and women who are feisty. I find that a feisty woman, I’m attracted to for some reason. Even if they get on my nerves, I’m attracted to it still. I look for sexiness. And I look for someone who can teach me something. Say you’re a dental hygienist or an astronaut, just teach me something.

Any deal-breakers?

Oh, deal-breakers. Yeah. I’m personally not into someone that smokes nicotine.

You talk a lot about how close you are to your mom and grandma. Who would they want to see you with?

I know this is cliché, but they just want me to be happy. I mean, they think they know what I like, but they just want me to be happy. You know how parents are. They’ll be like, “Oh, you’ll like this person!” And I’m like, “No, mom, I don’t like them.” [Laughs]

Have they given you good relationship advice?

Willie and Christina Geist Met in Sixth Grade. 33 Years Later, Here's How They Make It Work

Who did you have a crush on in sixth grade? Maybe it was a back-row kid from homeroom or a spelling bee champ. When’s the last time that person crossed your mind—or even your newsfeed? For Sunday Today Show host Willie Geist, and his wife, New York Times bestselling children’s book author, Christina, it was, oh, four seconds ago.

The pair met in the middle school and while life took them in different directions, the universe nudged them back together. The Geists have now been married since 2003 and have two children, George, 10, and Lucie, 12. Between them, the duo also has two demanding careers. Christina, 44, is the author of Sorry Grown-Ups, You Can’t Go To School!, which drew on a clever hack she invented to get her daughter excited to start school, framing it as a special thing only she gets to do.

And Willie, 44, who’s been a longtime co-host on Morning Joe, is settling into is groove on Sunday Today—where he trades high-drama politics for actual dramatists. So far, he’s interviewed the likes of Bill Murray, Jerry Seinfeld, David Letterman, and Tiffany Haddish.

While their schedules require a lot of coordination, and their lives have countless moving parts, their partnership is stronger than ever. Here, the Geists fill us in on how they’ve been making it work from middle school to (per their own characterization!) middle age.

Sometimes you can judge a book by its cover

WILLIE GEIST: We both went to George Washington Middle School in Ridgewood, New Jersey. On the first day, Christina had a bunch of friends from elementary school, whereas I was the new kid from the other side of town, standing alone and scanning the room. And I know it sounds like revisionist history, but this is true. I really remember thinking in my little 11-year-old brain, “Oh, she seems cute and cool.” And it turns out I was right—because that was 33 years ago, and we’re married with kids.

CHRISTINA GEIST: I remember it, too. It’s crazy but I feel like Willie always stood out. He’s a presence in any room he walks in, both because he tends to be taller than 95% of the people, but also because he’s just the type of person that the attention naturally shifts towards him.

Trust your gut

WG: We dated briefly during freshman year of high school. I played on the football team and I had a little towel that hung out of my pants and I wanted to write Christina’s name on it—but I made the first letters too big, so it basically said “Christ” and then had a little “ina” in the corner, because I ran out of space. It ended up looking like a tribute to Jesus rather than my 14-year-old girlfriend. So she was the one who broke up with me, because once you see guys with cars, you’re like, “Oh, you’re just a pimply 14-year-old with ‘Christ’ on his towel.”

We got back together junior year, then went to Vanderbilt together. But after college I got a job in Atlanta and she went to Boston. We felt like, “If we’re going to break up and see what the world’s like outside of this, it seems like this is the time to do it.” So we did for a couple of years and I remember hearing things through the grapevine that she was dating someone else. And I had to be ok with that, because that was the point of the whole thing. But after a certain period of time I thought, “I know in my heart that this is the person I want to be with. If we just went through this exercise of breaking up for the sake of breaking up, and I’m going to lose her over that, that doesn’t make any sense.” I found myself trying to reel her back in and make sure she didn’t slip away.

Here's What Liam Hemsworth Has to Say About His Split From Miley Cyrus

Many were shocked over the weekend when Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth announced they are separating less than a year after they tied the knot at a private ceremony in their Nashville home.

“Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time,” Cyrus’s representative told People on Saturday, August 10. “Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.”

Since the announcement, photos emerged of Cyrus kissing Brody Jenner’s ex, Kaitlynn Carter, in Italy and she has still been active on Instagram. But Hemsworth has remained silent, until now.

According to the Daily Mail, Hemsworth has been staying with his brother Chris in their native Australia. While out for frozen yogurt, a reporter asked him about the split. “You don’t understand what it’s like. I don’t want to talk about it mate,” Hemsworth reportedly said.

Cyrus, meanwhile, is spending time with her sister, Brandi, and Carter in Italy. “Don’t fight evolution, because you will never win. Like the mountain I am standing on top of, which was once under water, connected with Africa, change is inevitable,” she wrote on Instagram. “The Dolomites were not created over night, it was over millions of years that this magnificent beauty was formed. My dad always told me ‘Nature never hurries but it is always on time”…. it fills my heart with peace and hope KNOWING that is true. I was taught to respect the planet and its process and I am committed to doing the same with my own …. ?”

She also posted two more images recently, writing, “New day. New adventure. ?” and “Life’s a climb… but the view is great.”

Check out a complete timeline of Cyrus and Hemsworth’s 10-year relationship here.

Here's What's Really Going on With Miley Cyrus and Kaitlynn Carter

Just hours after news of Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth’s breakup made headlines on Saturday night, August, 10, PDA-filled photos of the singer and newly-single Kaitlynn Carter started circulating the web. In the pics, the two are seen kissing on a boat during their vacation getaway in Lake Como, Italy, which prompted some to wonder if this new relationship has anything to do with Cyrus’ split with Hemsworth.

However, a source told People, the women met through mutual friends and are “just having fun” together.

Carter also announced her split from husband Brody Jenner two weeks ago, confirming the two “have decided to amicably separate,” adding that “they love and respect one another, and know that this is the best decision for their relationship moving forward.”

On Friday, August 9, Carter posted a pic with Cyrus captioning it, “rock the boat, don’t rock the boat baby.”

The model’s ex even commented on the photo, writing, “Hot girl summer,” which seems to suggest they’re on good terms.

She also shared another group shot on a boat.

And a video to her Instagram Stories.

Meanwhile, Cyrus’ older sister Brandi is also on the trip with them and has shared photos of them together.

The “Mother’s Daughter” hitmaker has been documenting her trip on social media, too, and recently shared a photo without her wedding ring, which is what initially sparked break-up rumors.

Cyrus’ rep later confirmed the news of her and Hemsworth’s separation after less than one year of marriage.

Here's How Hannah Brown Reportedly Feels About Tyler Cameron and Gigi Hadid's Dates

News that Tyler Cameron went on a date with Gigi Hadid just days after he spent the night with Hannah Brown has been rocking Bachelor Nation all week. Neither Cameron nor Hadid has commented on their recent hang-outs (there have been two that we know of), and Brown’s been incredibly diplomatic with the press. “I have feelings, but I’m also single and he’s single, and I want to keep my options open and he can keep his options open,” she told Entertainment Tonight. Soon after, she told Us Weekly she’s more or less done answering questions about Cameron. “I’m not going to talk about Tyler or any of that stuff. Thank you, next,” she said.

It doesn’t look like Brown’s going to expand on those “feelings” she has any time soon. But if People magazine’s latest report is to be believed, she’s not exactly jumping for joy over the idea of Hadid and Cameron kicking it. “Hannah is not thrilled,” a source tells the outlet. “It’s not that she doesn’t think he’s allowed to date other people, but it’s embarrassing.”

This essentially echoes what Brown told Entertainment Tonight, so no big surprises here. But a separate source gave some details about Hadid and Cameron’s situation that are a little juicy. “Their dates are definitely real and he’s having a good time,” they say. “It’s too soon to say Tyler and Gigi are ‘dating.’ They’re both being purposefully coy.”

Regardless of what’s going on, Hannah Brown has made it clear she wants nothing but happiness for Tyler Cameron, who was the runner-up on her season of The Bachelorette. (Some fans are clamoring for them to get together after the man Brown selected, Jed Wyatt, turned out to have a dramatic previous-relationship history.)

“I’m really appreciative that Tyler has always had my back and supported me through all my decisions. He constantly encourages me to lean into the strong woman that I am,” Brown wrote about Cameron on Instagram. “He’s a really good man, and I’m going to be his biggest fan in whatever makes him the happiest.”
