Jessica on Love Is Blind Let Her Dog Drink Wine From Her Glass—and People Have Thoughts

Love Is Blind, Netflix‘s new reality show, is a gift that keeps on giving.

It all begins with this wild premise: A bunch of single men and women move into a house where they start speed dating each other to see if they’re a match. But here’s the catch: They can’t see what the other person looks like. The cast gets to know each other inside “pods” where they talk for hours and decide if they want to get engaged. Yes, engaged…after mere days of knowing each other. At that point, they finally get to see the person they’ve decided to spend the rest of their lives with before being whisked away on a romantic vacation.

After the trip, they have to return to some version of real life, where they move in together and meet each other’s family and friends. As you can imagine, there are many dramatic moments as these couples dig into the thornier issues involved in a relationship. But there are also many incredible smaller moments. Exhibit A: when Jessica casually lets her dog lap up red wine from her glass and whispers, “She loves wine.”

It’s a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment, but many of the show’s viewers clocked it—and they had some thoughts. “This is the most dynamic moment of TV I’ve seen in a long time – from Netflix’s Love is Blind,” one fan tweeted. “A guy telling his fiancé, who he met the week before, that he’s mentally stable while she feeds her dog wine and tells him that she’s not his mom. So much to unwrap in 10 seconds.”

“Why would you watch literally anything else when you can watch Love is Blind and see a DOG drink WINE,” another wrote.

Love Is Blind is currently streaming on Netflix and you should all definitely be watching it—if just for the wine-drinking dog alone.

Meghan Markle's Dog May Have Been the Biggest Clue They Were Stepping Down

While most of the world is still in shock over Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s decision to step down as senior members of the royal family, it turns out one of the Duchess’s dogs may have been a big hint the announcement was coming.

This week, Markle and Prince Harry announced they will opt out of some of their royal duties and plan to partially relocate to North America—most likely Canada—where they will work to become financially independent.

“After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution. We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen,” the couple wrote on Instagram.

This announcement came amidst the couple’s holiday in Canada, where per E! News, it was reported the two were spotted taking a hike with Suits star Abigail Spencer and two dogs.

Though it seemed like an innocent story at the time, this is where Markle’s pets come into play. One of the dogs on the hike was reportedly Guy, the beagle Markle adopted from a rescue shelter, and the other was identified as Bogart, the pup who could no longer travel because of his old age. (He was left behind in Canada with friends after she married Prince Harry as to not force him to make the long journey to the U.K.)

Now, this is where things get interesting. According to People, Guy suffered an injury following his arrival in the U.K. in 2017. He reportedly broke two of his legs at the time and Markle was “distraught” and “very upset” by what happened.

This begs the question: Why would Markle haven taken him on a 10-hour flight back to Canada just for a six-week vacation? For some, the answer is quite simple. Markle and Prince Harry were already in the process of making their move across the pond way before they announced it, so they were taking the necessary steps to relocate their dogs.

Royal correspondent Rebecca English told The Daily Mail that “insiders confirmed that the dogs staying in Canada ‘was the biggest clue, in hindsight, that they were unlikely to come back from this so-called holiday’.”

“Both the Duke and Duchess adore their dogs and Guy has already been relocated from Canada to London once when Meghan moved over,” the Daily Mail‘s source added. “She wouldn’t have considered a move again for him if it wasn’t going to be at least semi-permanent.”

As they said in their statement, the two intend to “balance [their] time between the United Kingdom and North America” where they plan to raise their son “with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter.”

It’s been reported that Markle is already back in Canada with baby Archie and her dogs. As for Prince Harry, he’ll reportedly join his wife and son in two weeks after he sorts everything out with his family in the U.K.

Someone Gave Meghan Markle a Drawing of Her Dog Toppling the Patriarchy

What do you get for the duchess and women’s rights activist who has everything? Why, a painting of her dog toppling the patriarchy, of course!

During their visit to Sussex on Wednesday (October 3), Meghan Markle and Prince Harry stopped by the Survivors’ Network, a charity that works to support sexual assault survivors. While they were meeting with the group, someone gifted the Duchess of Sussex with a drawing of her own dog doing his part to stand up for women’s rights.

The picture, which was created by artist Henry James Garrett (who goes as @DrawingsOfDogs on social media), features a black-and-white moment of someone asking a dog, “Who’s a good boy? Who’s a good boy?” and the dog responding, “A boy who makes an effort to dismantle the patriarchy (whilst keeping in mind intersections with other forms of oppression).” Classic.

The work is done in a similar style to a piece called Patriarchy Boy in Garrett’s permanent collection, but for the version he gave Markle, he drew the dog to look like her beagle, Guy. “The wonderful @SurvivorsnetBtn asked me if I could do drawing for them to gift to Meghan and Harry during their visit today. So I drew Meghan’s beagle Guy talking about dismantling the patriarchy,” he wrote on Twitter. “A couple of weeks ago, they told me that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were coming to visit and that they’d like my help in giving them a gift,” he told Marie Claire. “I decided to customize my ‘Patriarchy Boy’ drawing. I redrew it to feature Meghan’s rescue dog, Guy. We also [gave] them two of my empathy pins.”

When Markle received the gift, she laughed out loud, obviously. See the cute moment, below:
