Not Even Kylie Jenner Can Resist Target's Christmas Decorations


Of all the pieces in Jenner’s holiday tableau, her tree is the most special; Jenner revealed that she recreated the Christmas tree she had in her home as a child. “I love this because I wanted Stormi to experience what I used to experience growing up, and all the amazing memories that I have,” she said. “These ornaments my mom had, and I used to love sitting by the tree and just looking at them. I wanted the same thing for Stormi so I got all of these ornaments.”

Jenner stretched Target’s holiday inventory to the max, but she added that decorations aren’t the most important part of the season to her. “I think what I’m grateful for most during the holidays is my family,” Jenner said. “It’s definitely a time where I reflect.”

The Kylie Cosmetics founder has a lot to reflect on as 2019 comes to a close. This holiday season caps the year in which she celebrated her 22nd birthday, her daughter’s first birthday…and sold a 51% stake in her business for a cool $600 million.

The Royals Are Ready for Christmas—See the Stunning Decorations at Windsor Castle


As Queen Elizabeth gets ready for the holiday season, the first photos of her breathtaking Christmas trees have been released—and, as expected, they’re just as spectacular as ever.

The Windsor Castle staff has been busy decorating. As per royal tradition, a 15-foot tree has been placed in front of the windows in the Crimson Drawing Room as well as a 20-foot version in St. George’s Hall. (This is the same place where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle first introduced baby Archie to the world.)

The Nordmann fir trees from Windsor Great Park have been decorated with red, gold, and mirrored ornaments, as well as with ribbons, hundreds of twinkling lights, miniature crowns, and an angel topper.

In the photos, staff can be seen climbing ladders to decorate the higher branches of the enormous Christmas trees, before the Queen and members of her family add the final touches.

Meanwhile, other members of the staff can also be seen adding decorations to the State Dinning Room, which has been laid with “silver-gilt pieces from the Grand Service” used by past royals, and are “still used today by the Queen and her guests at state banquets,” according to The Royal Collection Staff.

This year, the Queen will celebrate the holidays without the Duke and Duchess of Sussex who are reported to be spending the holidays with their baby and Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland.

The royal couple announced their plans in a statement on November 13.

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are looking forward to extended family time toward the end of this month. Having spent the last two Christmases at Sandringham, Their Royal Highnesses will spend the holiday this year, as a new family, with the Duchess’s mother Doria,” a spokesperson said. “This decision is in line with precedent set previously by other members of the royal family, and has the support of her Majesty the Queen.”

Little Archie will just have to wait until next year to see his great-grandmother’s magical holidays decorations.

The Royal Family's Christmas Decorations Are the Polar Opposite of the White House's


The royal family revealed their Christmas decorations for Buckingham Palace on Tuesday (December 4), and they’re so cheery. And festive. And everything you could possibly want out of Christmas decorations. The trees are adorned with white twinkly lights; little crowns are scattered everywhere; and the staircases are covered in greenery with multicolored ornaments. It’s exactly the scene you need to get into the holiday spirit.

The decorations are a stark contrast to the White House’s Christmas setup, which, sure, is festive—but it’s also a little scary. Need we remind you of the red Christmas tree room, which looks like it was inspired by The Shining, Suspiria, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and just straight-up blood?

Now, compare this to Buckingham Palace’s decorations. No scary red trees in sight!

Twitter is definitely noticing the differences between Buckingham Palace and the White House’s takes on Christmas.

“So this is what it looks like when your leaders don’t choose ‘dystopian holiday hellscape’ as a decorating theme, huh?” tweeted one person. “Now that’s tasteful compared to the one at America’s White House,” tweeted some else, savagely.

It’s been a busy year for the royal family. Kate Middleton gave birth to her third child, Prince Louis, in April. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry tied the knot in May, followed by a whirlwind royal tour of Australia, Fiji, New Zealand, and Tonga in the fall. Markle is also expecting her first child, due in spring 2019. The entire royal family is reportedly spending Christmas together.

Twitter Is Screaming Over the White House's Eerie Christmas Decorations


The White House unveiled its Christmas decorations today, and they’re very…red. Granted, red is a Christmas color, but there’s a fine line between “festive red” and, well, blood. The White House’s holiday decor is straddling that line.

Let’s take a closer look, shall we? One hallway is lined with Christmas trees that are so red, I feel like I’m watching that scene in The Shining where the hotel gets flooded with blood. If you stare at the photo below for enough time, you’ll probably start seeing those creepy twins holding hands and chanting, “Come play with us forever and ever and ever.” No, ma’am! I will not play in this house! I will run in the opposite direction back to my apartment, where my $15 tree is colorful and adorned with ornaments featuring the different Hollywood Chrises. (Get it? It’s Christmas! Melania, call me! I can help.)

I’m not alone in thinking there’s something off about this year’s White House decorations. Twitter is flooded with memes and jokes comparing its set-up to Suspiria, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, The Handmaid’s Tale, and, yes, The Shining.

“The @WhiteHouse is sparkling for the Christmas season,” the First Lady wrote on Twitter to celebrate the decorations, which are mostly standard and fine.

But those trees! Please! Melania! Members of the East Wing! Do something to make them seem less malevolent. Add some green ornaments. Maybe some twinkle lights. Or leave them like this, but then fix climate change or go help asylum seekers at the border. These are your options! Thanks, and happy holidays.
