Charlize Theron Wore a $15,000 Bracelet in Her Hair to Cover Her Roots

Go ahead and cancel that appointment with your colorist.

On Sunday evening, Charlize Theron walked the red carpet at the Screen Actors Guild Awards looking absolutely radiant from head to toe. And that included her middle part and visible roots which she hid with a chic jewelry hack.

“I didn’t have time to do my roots,” Theron explained during a red carpet interview. But not only did she still look supremely cool with her dark roots blending into her platinum hair; she kicked things up a notch by accentuating said roots with a stunning set of Tiffany diamonds.

“The look is a futuristic take on 1920’s glamour,” celebrity hairstylist Adir Abergel, who did the Bombshell actor’s glam for the night, said in a statement. “The minute I saw the clean lines of Charlize’s two-piece outfit, I knew that I wanted the hair to mimic the qualities of the fabric—shiny and reflective. I added a powerful and modern detail to the look, with a diamond tennis bracelet for that extra shine and modern feel.”

The Tiffany Victoria Line Bracelet Theron wore as a hair accessory is worth a whopping $15,500. The entire bracelet comes with a total carat weight of 2.90.

According to Abergel, he created the look using Virtue Labs Healing Oil to help smooth away any flyaways. Next, he applied Virtue Labs Un-Frizz cream for an ultra-glossy finish. To secure the Tiffany bracelet piece, Abergel laid in a small French braid to ensure the diamonds would stay in place.

Theron’s beauty experts finished off her glamorous Givenchy red carpet look with a full face of Dior products. According to Dior, Theron used the Dior Capture Totale C.E.L.L Energy Serum-Lotion to soothe her skin before applying Dior Forever Skin Glow, Forever Skin Correct, the line’s Backstage Contour Palette Universal, and Backstage Rosy Glow Blush.

Go ahead and try the look yourself, even if you have to sub in a faux diamond bracelet.

The Bachelor's Peter Weber Is Out Here Publicly Flirting With Charlize Theron

As Bachelor Nation eagerly awaits Peter Weber‘s new season of The Bachelor, he’s out here flirting up a storm with Oscar-winner Charlize Theron.

Ahead of the show’s 24th season, the 28-year-old Delta Air Lines pilot decided to shoot his shot after the Bombshell star posted a photo of herself next to a promotional billboard of him that reads, “Expect Turbulence.”

She captioned her black-and-white shot, “Turbulence I like.”

After seeing the photo, Weber initially commented “Buckle up Charlize.” But her later upped his game by recreating her post and sharing it to his own account.

He uploaded a picture of himself posing next to one of Theron’s Dior ads, writing, “Turbulence can be fun.”

Even some of Weber’s Bachelor Nation friends found the interaction funny. In the comments section, former Bachelor Colton Underwood wrote, “Shoot your shot!” while host Chris Harrison added, “Well played kid…well played.”

But the same can’t be said for fans, who were a little confused about what this means for the outcome of his season.

“U picked her?” one person wrote.

“Did anyone understand this?” another commented.

“So is this a hint as to how your season goes?” someone else added.

It’s no secret that Theron has been a fan of The Bachelor for years. In a 2018 interview on The Late Late Show With James Corden, she even gushed about watching the reality dating show. (Though she made it clear she’d never appear on the series.)

“I basically feel like I am dating The Bachelor, like, the show,” she said. “On Monday nights because my kids can’t read a clock yet so I get them to bed at like 5:45 and then I open a bottle of wine, take a bath, I get all ready and that’s my date night. I date the show.”

We’ll just have to wait and see what goes down on Weber’s season when The Bachelor premieres on ABC Monday, January 6, at 8 p.m. ET.

Charlize Theron's Speech at Glamour's 2019 Women of the Year Awards Is Required Reading

Charlize Theron gave an incredible speech when she accepted her Glamour 2019 Women of the Year Award on Monday night—and it should be required reading.

The actor, who’s set to appear in the upcoming movie Bombshell, took the stage at New York’s Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center on Monday, November 11.

She was introduced by her Bombshell co-star Kate McKinnon, who told the audience about the first time she was captivated by Theron—her Oscar-winning performance in Monster—and what it was like to share the stage with her on Saturday Night Live.

“For some reason I was asked to introduce Charlize Theron at this Glamour event, which is sort of like a bridge troll being asked to introduce a Queen, but trolls love snacks and green rooms, so here I am,” McKinnon joked. “What can be said about Charlize Theron, a person whose Helen of Troy-esque, ship-launching face, is absolutely the least remarkable thing about her? A person whose real-life bad-assness makes her character from Mad Max: Fury Road look lazy and selfish? A person so grand that when you meet her, it only feels right to get on the floor—but who is so nice and normal that you end up just kind of doing a little curtsey?”

She continued, “In my mind, the finest screen performance of all time is Charlize in Monster. A performance filled with so much compassion and so much humanity that I found myself thinking 1) my god, the pain of so many women in this world is so overwhelming that I can’t even move; and 2) my god I want someone to make out with me outside of a roller rink. Charlize’s finest screen work came in 2014, of course, when we did an SNL sketch together about two ladies working in a cat shelter, a sketch that would go on to win a BAFTA. But seriously, she kind of swooped in and turned a bunch of cat jokes into a fully-fleshed out drama dynamic and for that I owe her so much.”

McKinnon concluded with insight into their time together filming Bombshell. “What I owe her everything for is getting to be a part of her latest incredibly important film, Bombshell. Where she not only transforms into Megyn Kelly but she embodies every nuance of a horrifying and horrifyingly common situation, which is the Goliath that women face when they choose to come forward about sexual harassment. But these kinds of revelatory roles have become par for the course for Charlize. In whatever she does, she always stands for bravery, risk and making tough choices. She does it as an actor, as a producer, an activist, a philanthropist, and a mom. And that’s what makes her a Glamour Woman of the Year.”

Naturally, Theron’s speech was as inspiring as her work. Read it, below:

“What a night. I’m a mess, there’s nothing ‘glamour’ about my face anymore. You all fucked me up in the most beautiful way. Thank you, Kate for doing this. For asking me to be your cat lady. It’s been a privilege to work with someone so incredibly funny and talented. That is until the day you do an impression of me in a celebrity game show sketch…then you’re dead to me.

I also want to thank Sam and everybody from Glamour. It is an incredible honor to be named Woman of the Year when this is the kind of company I get to keep. Ava, Yara, Megan, Tory, Margaret, Greta, Erika, Lucia, Andrea, Mayra,…a thousand times I say yes, every time.

So About the Rumor That Charlize Theron and Brad Pitt Are Dating…

A rumor popped up last week that Charlize Theron and Brad Pitt, two of the hottest people on Earth, are dating. According to The Sun, the A-list actors were set up by Theron’s ex-fiancé Sean Penn and have been hanging out since December. Their potential union, though, is like staring into the literal sun. Seriously, Theron and Pitt’s combined beauty is just too much for us mere mortals to handle! Imagine walking down the street and seeing them hold hands. I’d lose control of my limbs! How would our minds even process such hotness joining forces?

Well, it looks like we don’t have to worry about this now. Both People magazine and Entertainment Tonight report the dating rumors between Theron and Pitt are false.

Per People, the two stars met while filming an ad for Breitling watches but they’ve never been romantically involved. “They did a shoot together six months ago,” a source tells the magazine. “They have not been out together recently, and were never dating. Reports of them being involved romantically are false.” This source also added The Sun‘s claim that Penn set up Theron and Pitt “couldn’t be more false.”

ET doubled down on this, too, with a source telling the outlet, “They are both very single at the moment so it’s no surprise people are talking romance. They truly would make a Hollywood power couple, but at this point, they’re friends.”

“Brad and Charlize have known each other for years and recently became even better friends after working together,” ET‘s source added, referring to the Breitling campaign. “They enjoy each other’s company and connect on many levels. Brad and Charlize have a lot of mutual friends and share their love of acting, but neither of them are ready for a serious relationship right now.”

Well, that settles things, I guess. Here’s the Breitling commercial both People and ET reference:

Theron and Penn split in June 2015. Meanwhile, the Internet broke in September 2016 when Pitt and Angelina Jolie confirmed they were divorcing after their decade-plus relationship. For now, at least, it appears Charlize Theron and Brad Pitt are both just single, hot friends.

Charlize Theron on the Power of Being a Woman

Monster. Mother. Soldier. There isn’t a role Charlize Theron can’t nail. That extends to beauty idol too: The South African native, 43, has been the face of Dior J’adore perfume for 13 years and counting. Compared to her Oscar-winning performances, being the face of a long-running perfume campaign might seem trivial—trite even—to some, but Theron sees the role as another way to use her platform to explore “what it means to be a woman in this day and age,” as well as foster conversations about femininity and representation on-screen.

For our December 2018 issue, we caught up with the star to talk everything from her magic brow product to how the beauty industry is finally making some much needed change. Pull up a seat.

Tell us about your first scent memory.

Watching my mom apply fragrance in that very specific way women did in the seventies: behind her ears. There was something in the way she moved that made me think, One day, when I do that, I’ll be a woman.

You’ve said the idea of what it means to “be a woman” has been an important message of your campaigns with J’adore through the years. What do you think it means to be a woman today?

I think it’s as complex as it was in 2004. But solidarity is really important right now. We’re at the precipice of something really big happening, for us and for future generations. And I really believe that women are in solidarity with each other all over the world. [Why is why I think] it’s an incredible moment in time to be alive and to be a woman.

How have beauty conversations changed throughout your career?

There’s now a demand from the public [for more representation]. It’s made brands realize they don’t have a choice in the matter. But once they went there, [many found it] was actually incredibly lucrative. Once you widen the small idea of what [beauty traditionally meant], you reach a much wider audience. And those are the women who are really living in this world.

Honestly, I’m surprised that this hadn’t been done centuries ago. Why did it take us so long to say, “This is our value—take it or leave it”? Sometimes it feels like we’re still talking about caveman stuff.

Speaking of transformations, you’ve made a lot of them onscreen. Is there one that stands out?

Furiosa in Mad Max: Fury Road. She wears only one thing the whole movie, and we didn’t want people watching to get bored. I didn’t want to get bored of it. But that whole look became part of my skin by the end of the shoot. It felt like the harness was a part of my body. I was also a new mom then and the shaved head was so easy. I was living in the desert with my new baby, and I could just take a shower, walk out, and it was great. I loved it.

As a busy mom, how do you prioritize self-care?

I really enjoy a facial every two or three weeks. I go to Mila Moursi in L.A. There’s also a Korean hot springs that I’ve been going to for probably 25 years. I steam, I sit in the water, I get a body scrub. It’s not fussy or fancy. Sometimes, if one of my kid’s aunts want to hang out with them or take them to a movie, I’ll be like, oh, I’m going to go to the hot springs right now.

What’s the rest of your skin care routine like?

My skin always comes alive after exfoliating and moisturizing. I’m one of those people who are open to whatever friends are loving, but I always go back to Dior’s Prestige line, especially its hydrating serum.

What look makes you feel best?

Jeans, T-shirt, and a blazer. And for beauty, my go-to—when I feel my prettiest and most authentic—is usually just a nice brow, a good lash, a little bit of bronzer, and a lip balm. I love Creme De La Mer’s balm. That’s kind of all I do. I’m not a big eyeliner or eyeshadow person, but I like taking care of my brows.

What are your best brow tricks?

Listen, I’m from the nineties! We did that thin-eyebrow thing for a really long time there, so I’ve been on a journey trying to replace those brows for a long time. Castor oil has been unbelievable at helping to bring them back. You can just pick it up from a pharmacy. I use it on my brows, my scalp, and my lashes. It’s changed my life.
