Helen Mirren Sat on a Throne and Was Carried to the Premiere of Her New TV Show

We’ve always known Dame Helen Mirren is a legend—there’s a dame in her title, after all. Still, on Thursday (September 26), she made a show-stopping entrance at the London premiere of her new HBO series “Catherine the Great,” and the drama of it all proves that she’s also acutely aware of her royalty status.

Mirren did not walk onto the red carpet. She was carried in on an English sedan chair by four mere mortals. The actress exited before flashing cameras, showing off an ensemble clearly inspired by the Russian empress she plays in the show. The star paired wide-legged trousers with an elegant, square-necked navy blouse. As if that weren’t enough, she added a sparkling black opal and diamond Chopard necklace and matching earrings for some extra elegance.

There’s basically no reason for anyone to ever walk a red carpet after this. On social media, people gave Mirren the praise and applause she truly deserves. “The Mirren out there winning at red carpets for life. Pure sass, loving this,” one person wrote. “Helen Mirren is FABULOUS!!” someone else declared, while someone else called her a goddess. All true.

“Catherine the Great” will premiere on October 21 and includes countless opportunities to see Mirren rock more regal costumes. According to HBO’s website, the mini series is a “four-part historical drama” that follows “the end of Catherine’s reign and her affair with Russian military leader Grigory Potemkin that helped shape the future of Russian politics.” Mirren, who won an Academy award for her role in The Queen is also an executive producer on the new show, so you know it’s going to be good.

Mirren has a busy slate of projects. Up next for her is Fast & Furious 9, which she is currently filming. I really hope she’s carried onto that red carpet, too.

The Page Boy Who Carried Meghan Markle's Train Was the MVP of the Royal Wedding

There were many incredible moments form Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s royal wedding—their vows, the first time Prince Harry saw Markle in her wedding dress, the carriage ride—but none have captivated the internet quite like Train Face Boy.

Who is Train Face Boy, you ask? Well, he’s actually one of the young sons of Markle’s good friend Jessica Mulroney. And the face he made as he carried Markle’s train into St. George’s Chapel has gone totally viral on social media.

For good reason, too. The face Mulroney’s son made—one filled with pure excitement, joy, and happiness—is exactly how many of us feel about the royal wedding but may be too embarrassed to admit. Young Mulroney wasn’t shy about expressing his glee, though, and because of that he’s an international treasure.

Relive the face he made for yourself in the GIF, below:

The Twitter reactions to him have been lovely, too. “Same bro. Absolutely same,” one person tweeted. “I want to know EVERYTHING about the page boys who carried her veil. ??? Can’t wait to read their memoir one day,” wrote another.

The best reaction, though, might’ve been from the person who tweeted, “This boy was me when I saw the size of that veil!” Markle’s veil, if you don’t know, was a whopping 16 feet long. And it was iconic.

Check out the other reactions to Train Face Boy for yourself, below:

Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding ceremony clocked in at about an hour, and it included a sermon from Bishop Michael Curry, as well as traditional vows. Directly following the church ceremony, the couple took a carriage ride around Windsor, where they greeted well-wishers. Train Face Boy was no doubt excited about that, too.

Beyonce Carried a $5,000 Bedazzled Money Roll Clutch, As One Does

PHOTO: Kevin Mazur/Getty Images for TIDAL

Beyoncé has been on something of an affordable fashion kick this fall. Just last weekend, she stunned in a $56 Mistress Rocks bodysuit and $105 House of CB skirt; before that, she wore a $165 House of CB dress to Rihanna’s Diamond Ball. We’ve seen the “low” of Queen Bey’s “high-low style”—it was only a matter of time until we got the “high.” And last night at the Tidal X: Brooklyn event in New York, she delivered, her handbag of choice reiminding us that we can’t copy every one of her looks.

Beyoncé walked the red carpet in a custom emerald gown by Walter Mendez and Lorraine Swartz jewelry—and though both of these were incredibly stunning, our eyes immediately went to the glittery bag she was carrying. This wasn’t a run-of-the-mill bedazzled clutch we could pick up at Forever21—it was something much more intriguing.

A closer look (and don’t worry, there are plenty on Instagram) revealed that her handbag of choice was a limited edition collaboration between legendary accessories designer Judith Leiber (known for her bedazzled evening bags) and streetwear king Alexander Wang. Aptly titled the “Show Me the Money!” bag, it’s made to look like a roll of $100 bills, rendered in Swarovski crystals… naturally.

As you would expect of a literal money bag, it checks in at a casual $4,995 a pop.

The collaboration debuted just a few weeks ago, on the Alexander Wang Fall 2017 runway. Even more recently, though, it was carried around by Kim Kardashian this past weekend.

Nothing gets our interest going in a designer collaboration quite like an unofficial celebrity endorsement—so, two in one week? That’s pretty good for 10,263 Swarovski crystal-topped clutch. If you somehow have $5K collecting dust and want a novelty accessory to blow it on, Beyonce’s exact clutch is available through the Crystals From Swarovski website—though supplies are extremely limited: Only twenty bags were made. Considering the hefty price tag to literally show the world that you’ve got green, we’ll stick to trying out Beyoncé’s under-$200 dresses instead.
