So This Is Why Hailey Baldwin and Justin Bieber Wanted to Get Married at the Courthouse

Details are beginning to emerge about Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin’s surprise New York City wedding. According to People, it was Baldwin’s idea to have a quick ceremony at a courthouse over the summer.

“Hailey is a very bright girl. She’s not just blindly adoring Justin and doing whatever he wants,” a source close to Bieber told the magazine. “She’s wanted to be with Justin for a very long time.” While Bieber and Baldwin will reportedly have a more traditional ceremony for family and friends some time down the road, the source explained that Baldwin wanted to get married as soon as possible to solidify them “as a team,” and to prove to any skeptics that they’re the real deal.

“The city hall marriage was her idea. It was ‘you and me against the world,’” the source added. “Let’s show [everyone] we’re serious and it’s not just some crazy fling.”

The new report is in stark contrast to a previous report suggesting that Bieber and Baldwin had a shotgun wedding just because they wanted to get all the “legal stuff” out of the way. “It was more of a necessary ceremony to make it legal,” a source told People in September. “It doesn’t seem like it was a big deal to them.” Baldwin previously tried to downplay the wedding in a since-deleted tweet. “I understand where the speculation is coming from, but I’m not married yet!” Baldwin tweeted. According to a source, Baldwin needs a religious element for the wedding to feel official.

But it kind of was a big deal, because Baldwin has officially trademarked the name “Hailey Bieber,” People reports. According to The Blast, Baldwin filed the trademark for a potential clothing line. She also opened up about her husband in a recent interview with Harper’s BAZAAR. “He is incredible,” she said of Bieber. “He crushes everything. Every song, every feature. It’s crazy to see what he does. I’m always blown away.”

Ireland Baldwin Doesn’t Even Know If Hailey and Justin Are Married Right Now

Ireland Baldwin just spilled a little bit of tea about her cousin Hailey’s engagement to Justin Bieber. But first, a little backstory: Since reports broke earlier this month claiming that Hailey and Justin had gone ahead and tied the knot in secret, nobody but the two of them has been entirely sure of their relationship status. Not even their nearest and dearest know exactly what’s going on. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight over the weekend, though, Ireland shared that, while she’s unsure whether her cousin is now a married woman, she does know that Hailey and Justin are pretty much perfect for each other.

“I have no idea what their situation is,” Ireland said. “I think they’re just taking things slow. They’re just kissing all over the world. They’re just kissing and loving and having fun, and I think people take little details and get too caught up in them, and they’re looking too hard. Just let them kiss!” (A good rule of thumb.) Among the recent stops on this international kissing tour: London. Last week, Bieber was spotted serenading Baldwin outside Buckingham Palace, and she in turn posted and deleted a photo of them getting cuddly inside a pod on the London Eye.

Ireland went on to explain how the model and musician’s whirlwind relationship has been written in the stars for quite some time now. “It was meant to be a long time ago,” Ireland said. “It was just a long time coming, and we’re all like, ‘Alright, thank God, let’s move forward.’ They’re so in love and they really do a lot of good for each other, and that’s the most important thing for me, that he makes her so happy.” She added, “They just bring out the good in each other, they really do. I think they do a really good job of checking each other when one desperately needs to be checked and told, ‘You’re out of line.’ I think they really, really do care about each other so much and care about what others and what their families think of them.”

Ireland’s tentative speculation about her cousin’s relationship is markedly different from comments recently made by her father, Alec Baldwin, about his niece’s maybe-wedding. “They went off and got married, and I don’t know what the deal is!” he told Access at the Emmy Awards last week. Clearly, at this point, Biebwin’s relationship status is anyone’s guess.

Hailey Baldwin Had the Exact Same Reaction to Her Engagement as You Did

If Hailey Baldwin’s engagement to Justin Bieber made you say “OMG,” you aren’t the only one. Apparently, the supermodel had the exact same reaction herself.

“My entire summer has been quite adventurous in life in general,” she told The Coveteur in an interview for her partnership with bareMinerals. “I’ve been traveling all over. For me, being adventurous is flying by the seat of my pants, which isn’t something I’m normally comfortable with, but I’ve been doing it for the last few months. Just traveling, and it’s so fun to be able to pick up and do things.”

Then, she continued by bringing up the obvious “adventurous” moment of her summer: “Well, I got engaged! I think that’s probably the biggest OMG moment of the year for me, of my life. So that’s probably top.”

Baldwin and Bieber may or may not have gotten married last week — they were spotted leaving the New York City Marriage Bureau, where marriage licenses are issued, shortly after the interview with The Coveteur — but Hailey took to Twitter in a now-deleted post to dispel the rumors. Whether they’re married in the eyes of the law or not, it seems likely that a formal celebration with family and friends is still to come.

On the same day of her rumored courthouse wedding, Baldwin spilled some details about the upcoming nuptials. “I just picture lights strung everywhere,” she said, noting that she’s considering a West Coast location for the big day. “I think having it in the woods would be so beautiful.”

Though Baldwin was surprised at the proposal, once she received the OMG-worthy ring, she was apparently more than ready to make her way down the aisle. “My sister was 24 when she got married, and my parents also got married when they were young, too,” she said. “I see no reason to wait. When you know it’s right, it’s right.”

You Can Bet Hailey Baldwin Will Be Glowing on Her Real Wedding Day

Minutes after I sit down with Hailey Baldwin at the BareMinerals clean beauty event this week (she was just named a “Power of Good” ambassador for the makeup and skin care brand, along with Letitia Wright and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley), the eternally glowy, smiley blond gets practically giddy when she notices my Canadian accent. (In case you’ve been hiding in a cave, Baldwin’s been spending a lot of time with a much more famous Canuck.) And while I’ve been told that bridal Qs are off limits, Baldwin clearly has wedding on the brain—the couple was spotted at a New York City courthouse where marriage licenses are issued later that same day, setting off a storm of rumors that she and Justin Bieber are already married. Spoiler: they’re not.

But back to Baldwin: I can confirm that IRL, the 21-year-old future Mrs. Bieber is all cheekbones, crazy-long limbs (she trained as a ballet dancer) and spot-free, luminous skin (she had on makeup, but not much tbh). The woman has an inexplicable affinity for the nineties—the style of that decade (chunky socks, sneakers, and boxy suits, like the velvety Max Mara number she was wearing) and its supermodels: Christy, Linda, Cindy, Naomi (“They were on just such a different level, I would never even put myself in remotely the same category.”) Natural beauty is her thing (maybe a Meghan Markle low-key makeup vibe is in the cards for Baldwin’s big day), she’s kind of hung up on her fine hair, and she’s never met a drugstore beauty aisle she didn’t like.

But here, hear it in her own words.

Glamour: Congrats on your first beauty contract! Tell me, why is Bare Minerals an important brand to you?

Hailey Baldwin: I’m really big on skin care and healthy living. I think it’s important to use products that don’t have harsh chemicals in them, that’s the main thing for me. My mom was always big on drinking a lot of water and eating really healthy, so those values really stuck with me.

Glamour: What’s one beauty trend you love but would never try?

HB: Black lipstick. I think some people pull it off, I don’t think I would.

Glamour: What’s one beauty trend you wish you had never tried?

HB: Oooh, really thin eyebrows. I had to them grow back. It took a couple years.

Glamour: What’s your favorite so-called “flaw”?

HB: My nose isn’t completely straight. I notice it, but maybe other people wouldn’t. Either way, I don’t really care. I don’t think “perfect” is a real thing.

Bare Minerals Bare Pro Glow Highlighter, $28, bareminerals.com

Glamour: Your house is burning down! You can grab three beauty products, what are they?

HB: My moisturizer. I use Barbara Sturm, it’s the best. Then I’d grab one Bare Minerals’ BarePro Glow Highlighters—they’re my favorite. I swear I could use them for the rest of my life. And lastly, some type of lip balm or chapstick. I’m very simple, I would rather wear no makeup than anything.

Glamour: What’s your go-to getting ready music?

HB: I’m a big fan of rap music, so I’ll put on whatever rap playlist on Spotify on and just jam out. I’m into Cardi B these days.

Glamour: You’ve got wonderful hair. How do you keep it in such great shape?

HB: Listen, I have really thin hair. It’s like I have a lot of it, but its thin, and it takes forever to grow. I swear it doesn’t grow. I don’t know why, it’s just stubborn. I try to do treatments and try to be really careful with it, but I’m also blond, so every couple months I bleach it to highlight it, and that’s not very beneficial. But I try to let it air dry as much as I can, because I have heat on my hair all the time.

Glamour: What are you loving on your nails right now?

HB: I love doing nudes and pinks. My favorite is a pinky-nude color from Essie because it looks kinda fleshy.

Glamour: What is the latest Instagram rabbit hole you went down?

HB: I get into a lot of cooking rabbit holes, like food blogs and those videos that do quick recipes but speed them up so they show you what goes into it. I watched that for like an hour the other day.

Glamour: Do you cook yourself?

HB: Yeah, I do.

Glamour: What do you like to make?

HB: I make really good cinnamon rolls. I found this recipe a couple months ago for buttermilk cinnamon rolls, and they came out so good. I started making them for all my friends, and they were like “these are my favorite things in the world.”

Glamour: You’ve got $20 and free roam of a drugstore. What do you buy?

HB: So, I’m trouble in a drugstore, because I just buy everything. I would probably go for some lip balm, like some Aquaphor. It’s my go-to. Something I use on my hair all the time are those mini, 10-minute miracle leave-in sprays, so that’s another thing. Neutrogena makeup wipes, because I’ve been using them since I was like 13. And…I don’t know. I just buy really random things. Hair ties, scrunchies, nail files.

Glamour: You’ve been known to wear a scrunchie.

HB: Yeah, I feel like I helped bring the scrunchie back. I feel like I can honestly say that.

Glamour: What made you bust one out?

HB: You know what it was? Honestly, the start of it was that regular hair ties break your hair more, so I started doing the scrunchies as a point to keep my hair in tact. And then I thought it’s honestly cute. I was just on this really nineties kick.

Glamour: What do you love about the nineties so much?

HB: I was born in the nineties, and I’m just fascinated with that time period—especially with all the supermodels; Christy Turlington, Claudia Schiffer, Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, so many of them. I love seeing old photos of actors and actresses. I think the style was a lot more laid-back, but also like that the model style was very mini-skirts with white T-shirts and big, chunky sneakers and socks. I don’t know. I just find it aesthetically pleasing.

Glamour: If you could change one thing about beauty perceptions, either on social media or in Hollywood right now, what would that be?

HB: I struggle with girls wanting so badly to be like other people. I think it’s one thing to admire somebody, but it’s another thing to completely transform yourself to look like someone else, or transform yourself because we’re shelling out this really unrealistic beauty standard. I would like for people to understand the importance of natural beauty, and the importance of being yourself. It’s the coolest thing that you can do, and I think that people lose sight of what actually is attractive, like being kind, and being sweet, and having a good attitude and good morals. I think all that stuff falls to the side.

Glamour: How long do you usually spend getting ready in the morning?

HB: Around 15 minutes. I’m really quick, even if I’m doing makeup.

Glamour: Like in the shower, out and done in 15?

HB: Yeah.

Glamour: One last question, who is the woman inspiring you the most right now?

HB: I’m really inspired by Ashley Graham. I think that she’s such a cool voice. She’s so kind, and she says whats on her mind and is strong in what she believes. I just think she’s beautiful and a really, really powerful force in this day and age.

Hailey Baldwin Addresses the Rumors That She Married Justin Bieber

UPDATE: SEPTEMBER 14, 2018 AT 4:56 P.M. ET — Hailey Baldwin took to Twitter on Friday and set the record straight: She is not (we repeat, not) married yet. “I understand where the speculation is coming from, but I’m not married yet,” Baldwin tweeted.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Surprising news, people: Hailey Baldwin and Justin Bieber are reportedly already married. Yup! If you’re keeping track, it’s only been about two months since the couple announced their engagement, but multiple sources tell People magazine that Bieber and Baldwin tied the knot on Thursday (September 13) in New York City.

“They went ahead and did it without listening to anyone,” a source allegedly close to the young stars told the magazine.

A second “religious” source confirmed the news, as well, telling People that Bieber and Baldwin did marry at a New York City courthouse but plan on having a proper ceremony and reception soon: “They’re going to have a big blowout, in front of God and everyone they love.”

PHOTO: Getty Images

TMZ broke the news yesterday that Baldwin and Bieber went to the Marriage Bureau in New York City, which issues marriage licenses. An eyewitness on site reportedly saw Bieber crying and telling Baldwin, “I can’t wait to marry you, baby.” Take that with a grain of salt, of course.

In fact, it might be best to take this all with a grain of salt until Bieber and Baldwin confirm. In a separate story, TMZ reports Baldiwn and Bieber will marry as soon as next week in Canada. It’s unclear, though, if the outlet is just referring to a formal ceremony and reception or actual marriage. Either way, it seems like Bieber and Baldwin are excited (and eager) to start the next chapters of their lives together. Congrats!

“The thing I am most excited for is that my little brother and sister get to see another healthy stable marriage and look for the same,” Bieber wrote on Instagram in July, confirming his engagement to Baldwin. “God’s timing really is literally perfect.”

Hailey Baldwin and Justin Bieber Reportedly Went to the Marriage License Courthouse

Set your countdown clocks and Google alerts, because there’s a very good chance that Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin might be getting married sometime between now and November 13, somewhere in the state of New York. According to TMZ, Bieber and Baldwin were spotted yesterday at New York City Clerk’s Office ,which contains the city’s Marriage Bureau (the distributor of marriage licenses.

Eyewitnesses inside the office reportedly told TMZ that the couple appeared emotional over the trip, with Bieber reportedly even shedding a few tears while picking up the (alleged) license with his fiancée. “I can’t wait to marry you, baby,” he reportedly told Baldwin at one point.

According to the Clerk’s Office, once obtained, a marriage license can’t be signed for at least 24 hours and stays valid for only 60 days. Additionally, it can only be used for weddings that take place within New York state, meaning the Biebwin nuptials would likely occur in the vicinity of New York City, sometime between Friday afternoon and midnight on November 13. That narrows things down. Of course, take all this with a grain of salt. It’s possible Baldiwn and Bieber didn’t pick up their license at all.

Just this week, Baldwin spilled some details about her upcoming wedding. “I just picture lights strung everywhere,” she told The Cut on Thursday. “I think having it in the woods would be so beautiful.” At the time, the 21-year-old also hinted that the wedding would be on the West Coast in 2019, making the errand she ran with her husband-to-be later that day all the more confusing.

“My sister was 24 when she got married, and my parents also got married when they were young, too,” she also told The Cut. “I see no reason to wait. When you know it’s right, it’s right.”
