Anna Faris Says Chris Pratt Texted Her After He Proposed to Katherine Schwarzenegger

Exes Anna Faris and Chris Pratt are on good terms—such good terms, in fact, that he texted her the morning after proposing to his girlfriend of over a year, Katherine Schwarzenegger.

Faris revealed this tidbit Monday (January 14) on her podcast, Anna Faris Is Unqualified. “Chris texted me this morning and he was like, ‘I proposed to Katherine last night,'” the Mom actress says, according to Us Weekly. “And I was like, ‘Ahh, that’s amazing.’”

If you thought that’s where the good vibes ended, you’re wrong. Faris then took things up a notch and offered to ordain Pratt and Schwarzenegger’s wedding. Granted, this was probably-definitely a joke—but even joking about officiating your ex-husband’s wedding is a level of chill we should all aspire to.

“And I texted [Pratt] back like, ‘I just wanted to remind you I’m an ordained minister.’ I’m not very good at it,” Faris also said on her podcast.

She continued, “I’m so happy for them. I knew that it was gonna happen and I love her and I love him and I’m just so happy that they found each other…I so subscribe to the idea of, like, expanding, like, family and love with [my son] Jack. [Katherine’s] awesome.”

Faris’ actions absolutely match this. Over Halloween last year, she, her new boyfriend Michael Barrett, Pratt, and Schwarzenegger all took Jack trick-or-treating. (Pratt and Faris welcomed Jack in 2012.)

“Sweet Katherine, so happy you said yes! I’m thrilled to be marrying you. Proud to live boldly in faith with you. Here we go,” Pratt posted to Instagram on Monday confirming his new engagement.

“I’m so happy for you both!! Congratulations!” Faris commented on this post shortly after it went live, according to Us Weekly.

Nothing but good vibes in 2019, my friends.

Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger Are Engaged

Looks like whirlwind celebrity romances won’t be slowing down in 2019, given that Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger are the latest Hollywood A-listers (and the first of 2019) to announce their engagement after a short courtship.

Early Monday, Pratt took to social media to share that he had proposed to Schwarzenegger, the daughter of Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger. “Sweet Katherine, so happy you said yes! I’m thrilled to be marrying you. Proud to live boldly in faith with you. Here we go! ??♥️,” the actor wrote alongside a photo of he and Schwarzenegger embracing. In the shot fans can catch a glimpse of Schwarzenegger’s new massive solitaire diamond.

Rumors of their relationship began in June when the pair were spotted having a picnic on Father’s Day 2018. Since June, the two have been seen together several times in Los Angeles, and Pratt finally confirmed the relationship just a month ago, posting a collage of photos to Instagram in honor of Schwarzenegger’s birthday. On December 13, he shared the images with the sweet caption, “Happy Birthday Chief! Your smile lights up the room. I’ve cherished our time together. Thrilled God put you in my life. Thankful for the laughs, kisses, talks, hikes, love and care.♥️???.”

Pratt was previously married to Anna Faris for eight years, until they announced their separation in August 2017. But like many other Hollywood couples of late, Pratt and Faris vowed to have an amicable divorce in an effort to co-parent their 6-year-old son Jack. (In November news broke that the couple even agreed to live within five miles of each other until Jack completed the sixth grade.) Ever the modern family, Pratt and Schwarzenegger were spotted together on Halloween trick-or-treating with Jack, Faris and Faris’s new significant other.

The Guardians of the Galaxy star has previously spoken openly about the hardships of divorce and how he and Faris are maintaining a friendship.

“Divorce sucks,” Pratt said in an interview with EW. “But at the end of the day, we’ve got a great kid who’s got two parents who love him very much. And we’re finding a way to navigate this while still remaining friends and still being kind to one another. It’s not ideal, but yeah, I think both of us are actually probably doing better.”

NASA Honors 'Hidden Figures' Heroine Katherine Johnson With a Research Building Named After Her

It has been a big year for Katherine Johnson, the “human computer” who served as the brains behind NASA’s launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit. Hidden Figures, the movie based on her inspiring—though, until recently, largely unknown—career premiered in January 2017. Taraji P. Henson portrayed Johnson onscreen, and the film won for outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. Even more importantly, the film and its portrayal of Johnson is being credited with galvanizing more young women to consider careers in science and technology. Now, in a very much overdue honor for the trailblazer, NASA has just dedicated a new facility to honor the mathematician: the Katherine G. Johnson Computational Research Facility.

Johnson was celebrated at the building’s ribbon-cutting ceremony earlier this week. In a pre-taped interview before the ceremony, the 99-year-old was asked how she felt about the recognition she was receiving. “You want my honest answer?,” she says. “I think they’re crazy.” Johnson then went on to acknowledge her coworkers, many of whom also remained unrecognized until Hidden Figures made a splash on the big screen. “I was excited at something new, always liked something new,” she said. “But give credit to everybody who helped. I didn’t do anything alone but try to go to the root of the question and succeeded there.”

ICYMI, NASA has been planning a much-talked about mission to Mars, the calculations for which could very well be done in Johnson’s new building. It that were to happen, says Johnson, “I’ll be exceedingly honored, greatly honored.”

Johnson also took a moment during her interview to share her advice for the young NASA engineers who will work at her namesake building. “Do your best, but like it,” she says. “Like what you do and then you will do your best.” Johnson credits that and her strong work ethic for her own success.
